I purchased a car battery with a 3-year warranty. It failed completely after only six months. Upon returning to the store, I was dismissed because the staff was "too busy" to assist. Following a formal complaint to the head office, a "test" was finally conducted.
The diagnostic process was fundamentally flawed. Despite the battery requiring a jump-start to even reach the shop, the staff insisted the battery was "healthy" because it showed sufficient amperage immediately after a 45-minute charge cycle. Any technician worth their salt knows that a surface charge does not indicate a battery's long-term health. By using this misleading data to deny a valid warranty claim, they have effectively rendered their "3-year warranty" worthless.
Extreme Delays and Dishonesty
The issues extend beyond the parts department to their tire services. I arrived for a routine tire re-balancing—a standard part of their after-care package. I was quoted a one-hour wait time, which ultimately turned into a five-hour ordeal.
Time management is one thing, but the staff’s attitude toward the delay was unacceptable. When I asked for updates, I was met with rudeness. When I requested to speak with a manager, the staff claimed the manager was on break for the next hour without even checking. They then flatly refused to pass on my contact information for a callback.
Final Verdict
The staff here displays a blatant disregard for the truth and takes zero pride in their work. Between the technical incompetence regarding battery diagnostics and the defensive, gatekeeping behavior of the service team, this is a business that does not deserve your trust or your money.
Avoid this location if you value your time and expect your warranties to be honored.
For some reason unknown, my appointment was cancelled to install tires. They were still able to fit me in the alloted time and get it done reasonably with added service to replace my TPMS. Great thanks to the woman working the front desk for her managing skills.
??♀️If I could give this location 0 stars I would... Nobody never answers the phone at this location, I've been calling for the past 3 days?. This location also cancelled my tire order without any explanation, which made me miss out on $120 rabate from the manufacturer. What a disappointment, If the customer service sucks this bad, I could just imagine what the actual service is like. Thanx for saving me a headache I guess.?
I was trying to buy tires for my car online. It wouldn't go through so I visit the auto care center and she suggested four other tires. The four tires she suggested cost less than the two tires I was trying to get online. I bought the tires and they put them on within the hour.????
When I got my oil change today it went so smoothly and very fast! The employees were very efficient and they even vacuumed out my floor in the driver and passenger side! What a great surprise because I wasn't looking forward to doing it myself. Refuse to get my oil changed anywhere else.
Stay away from this place if you want to change oil ... unprofessional technicians here and they don't know how to open oil covar and they broken oil pan it cost me 300$ I never recommend this place for oil changing very be careful

OMG has a very bad service, my experience has been terrible I bought 4 new tires and a battery for my car at 6:30pm and my service I went to my house which is 5 minutes from them and the next morning I had a tire without air that I never passed the old tires, I drove to the nearest gas station to get some air I was late to work because of that, I called them to inform them and they told me to come in after work, I went and I spoke with a Puertorican man he was kind and he told me come back tomorrow when the manager is here, I come back a second time the next day to talk with the manager Jonathan I spoke with him he was very kind but he did not resolve my problem he told me that if it emptied air again I should take it, today I woke up and found the tire without air again, I drove to the nearest gas station to get some air to get to them when a man was very kind arrived the name Ramón he realized that something was wrong where the air was where the air is thrown and Him change it, now the one who has a soaked tire is I’m the one who pays for new tires and the one who changed them did something wrong names on my bill Daron J and Joel R, Take photos and videos of the tire for proof.
I encountered several issues during my recent visit to the Walmart Auto Care Center. After arriving at 9:15am for an appointment mistakenly scheduled for 1pm instead of 12pm, I informed the staff of my early arrival. The representative's response, though polite, was unnecessary. I propose enhancing the waiting area with entertainment options, similar to those found at comparable auto centers. Furthermore, I observed periods of register inactivity, potentially indicating lost sales opportunities. I eventually purchased and had my tires replaced but due to in staff communication difficulties. Unfortunately, the disposal fee and tire removal instructions were miscommunicated, requiring repeat of my request. Ultimately, the tires were left for me to load in my car, where they should've been loaded in the 1st place. This resulted in a subpar experience for me.
I wish it was possible to give negative star. This place is absolutely abysmal. I've seen DMV lines move faster then then lines here. Apparently making an appointment here means nothing because this place is ran by bunch of incompetent buffons. Who clearly are not trained or educated of how to do their job properly. I had a appointment had my name and all the proper paper work. When I finally reached the desk to hand in my order . They proceed to tell me the tire I order and already paid for are not in stock. That there was nothing they can do because they didn't have a manager on duty so I had to sit 2 hours for a manager to waltz in. When I explain the situation to him he proceed to tell me that they have have my tires but I missed my appointment time. I corrected him letting him know I was early and he proceed to call the cashier that was manning the line and ask her blantly in from of my face in Spanish was I actually on time or did I come late for my appointment. Which she processed to justify that I was indeed on time . Then he has the audacity to tell me my car next and would take about a hour ans lo and behold. 2 hrs later my car still haven't been processed. If your still reading this do yourself a favor and save yourself the agony and shop elsewhere this place it's pitiful.
I went to the auto care center with the tire light on asking them to check and balance the tires for any repairs. They did not balance the tires nor check for repairs needed. Even when asked, why is the light still on, " it will go off in the next 20 miles".
The repairs needed turned out to be a nail in the tire that another mechanic found in all of 10 seconds.
The mechanics at this facility clearly need to be trained and or to be held accountable for not servicing the car correctly.
I will not be returning or recommending this auto center.
If I could put negative 5 starts I would! Horrendous customer service. The front desk woman was incredibly rude and never has any idea what she’s talking about. First time I went for a tire change they told me the tires I got from their website didn’t fit my car like the website had told me they would. They tried to make me take the tires that did not fit my car home with me. Absolutely not. Finally got that resolved. Went back a second time and they “lost” 2 of my tires and said to call and come back tomorrow. Incredibly rude on the phone and when I asked to speak to someone else she completely refused. I will NEVER be coming back here again.
They did oil change and didn’t put the cap on it, they damaged my car, I am gonna sue them for the damages, i wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this store, that’s unbelievable, they don’t care about risking someone life
Extremely unprofessional business. Called to inquire about a specific tire size. When I asked about the tire size, the response I was given was “what about it”? NEVER EXPERIENCED A RESPONSE LIKE THAT! I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone. This business needs to be evaluated from top to bottom. No Manager nor Area Manager or Director cares how they are conducting business there.
My favorite place for tire replacement and oil changes. They also do various other car works for a very, very reasonable price. You don't have to fear being ripped off at Walmart Auto Care centers. I hope they will extend their services in the future.
Horrible customer service ! Made multiple installation appointments for them to be cancelled and no one could tell me why. Supervisor needs more training. I basically was told to take my tires and get them serviced elsewhere which I was going to do !
Hit or miss. Some of the front desk people are rude , which is usually the case. I usually walk out pretty frustrated which is why I avoid going there if I have to. I went for tire install on Sunday , 7am. They couldn’t find my appointment. They didn’t have one tire. The front desk was apologetic and courteous which helped tremendously. The guy showed me where the app was saying one tire was out of stock once they found my order/appointment but a phone call would have helped prior to traveling there. The gentleman’s service was way better than any service received there EVER. He had to be management.
The lady that helped me was great. Nice friendly and informative. She told me about a 3 1/2 hour wait. But hopefully sooner. After waiting 3 hours. I was told they couldn’t get my tire off. So I asked how do I get my tire off and the guy just shrugged his shoulders.
I left and looked at my tire. Absolutely nothing was different about it. Not even a finger snug on the chrome.
I went around the corner to a regular tire shop and they had my tire off in less than a minute.
CHEAPER isnt always better. Absolutely WORST place. I will NEVER again purchase tires and attempt to work with walmart auto center. I have had my tires sitting in the back of my car for over a week. I scheduled an appointment and when i arrived was told they did not have me scheduled despite having the confirmation and then when they “attempted” they were unable to. i went in the next day and was made to wait an hour where they then proceeded to tell me they could not take the tire off and the bolts were cross threaded. I explained they are not because this is a problem i had previously paid to have fixed with my last tire installation-and two lug nuts are smaller than the others. the gentleman did not even attempt to look. After going by AGAIN today i am leaving once again with the tires in back of my car instead of on. and they want me to return again tomorrow! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. unpleasant staff. I will be returning these tires and just taking my business back to town fair tire because i have never had an issue with them. cheaper isnt always better.
I was a long time West Haven resident. Last year moved to Derby. I still go back to Walmart in West Haven. I've tried Walmart in Milford and was unhappy with the service. Actually had to go back the one time I switched to Milford because the tech didn't tightened my lug nuts enough and my tire was wobbling. That was two years ago. George in West Haven is awesome. Friendly, helpful and always has a smile. 3 months ago I went for an oil change and was longer than usual but I figured they were short staffed due to covid. Going this morning. Will give an update on service as far as time.
Went in to inquire about tires. They had a limited stock. The rep then showed me how to order excatly what I was looking for on their website and send it straight to the tire shop. Ended up saving me a lot of money. Not the best option if you need tires right now but well worth it if you can wait a few days... Will update after I have the tires installed.
I went in needing to get a replacement for my warrantied battery that went bad. It took almost an hour. The man working behind the counter told me it would take about 10 minutes to get to helping me.
He was dismissive to several other customers that came in even when they were asking for simple things. He spent more time telling people why he couldn't do something than it would have taken him to help them.
There were a lot of unsatisfied customers. I know i won't be going back to this location. Maybe Walmart should increase their staff at the auto desk to improve customer satisfaction.
Went in to have auto battery replaced. They had the battery at very good price which included installation. My battery is located under the floor in back seat interior . I was in and out in 35 minutes. What a great job by very friendly and knowledgeable people.
