I got a flat tire while out riding my motorcycle in New Haven last night. This was on a Sunday night at 8pm on Mother’s Day mind you… this upset me very much, but I’m certainly glad that I got in touch with Proven Performance! At first I called a local tow company and was met with some ruthless attitude saying “cash only” and not having any options to take debit or credit cards or willing to bring me to an atm to take out the cash. This was very upsetting to say the least, and after our perfect day It couldn’t end like this…. That is when my wife got in touch with Pruven Performance and handed me the phone. They made me feel extremely comfortable with their service, stating that they had all the proper equipment, and knowledgeable staff to ensure a safe travel for my vehicle. Knowing that my classic sport bike would be in the same condition coming off the truck, as before it went on the truck, was priceless to me! Timing was actually perfect! I was very impressed! It was only about an hour that we had to wait. So while we waited, we decided to get dessert at cannons pub. The dark star brownie was decadent to say the least…and the tow truck driver showed up just as we walked out of the pub! When I saw the newer flatbed and the professional equipment I knew I was in good hands. This was the right call and I couldn’t be happier about it! The attendant Bill was very helpful and personable and we shared many laughs and stories on the way home and he made us feel very safe and comfortable. I 100% recommend this company to anyone who wants a professional team to transport their beloved vehicle! I have been servicing my cars with Pruven Performance for over 15 years and I have no plans of going anywhere else! Bill is very knowledgeable. He is a good listener. I have recommended his services to numerous people over the years and he has never disappointed!

The review below by Bryan O is inaccurate. It’s about my car. I asked for an ECU unlock and got it. They even knocked the price down a bit after going over the quote at the end. My car’s been running fine since. It’s been nearly a month since and I’ve had zero issues. Please disregard.

I moved to Milford from out of state back in 2017 and have bounced between a few dealerships and independent shops to find someone who could diagnose and fix root issues on my family’s and my personal cars. If you’re looking for a shop to fix the issues you ask them without upselling, this is the right shop for you. Pruven Performance also gives you a heads up on what to budget for a few months out and provides you with pictures or videos as necessary so you can see what the issue is instead of just taking their word for it. I also appreciate being shown my old parts that were removed to know the job was done as described. Coincidentally, I recently went back to school to work on cars and have heard from other mechanics that this shop is the one you call when you have a difficult diagnosis that hasn’t been fixed after a few visits to other shops.

This is the second time Pruven has helped me with my S4 and I couldn't be happier! Always honest, kept me in the loop, and got the work done as quickly as possible. I never felt like I was getting taken advantage of. I highly recommend Bill and his team!!

I had an appointment scheduled July 29th 2023 with Bill at Pruven Performance. I called July 27th on my birthday to schedule it at a different date Because I was out of state with family due to a last minute change and I wanted to inform bill about it. When I called no one answered the phone. Bill recalls that I did not call and I just did not show up. So I showed up today August 22nd after I came back from my vacation with my family. I explained to bill the situation and why I couldn’t make it that day and he got upset saying it was not his problem and it does not concern him and he does not care. After going back and forth I told bill I was going to leave a bad review Because I did not appreciate the way he was treating or talking to me. Mind you I have autism and the way bill was speaking to someone with a disability was just plain evil! After I told bill I was going to leave a bad review and as I was leaving I guess that must’ve struck a nerve Because he stormed out chasing me to my vehicle and got up in my face threatening me and telling me to be a man and he was clenching his fists. Mind you I also had my 3 year old son with me who was very scared. Bill pushed my son out of the way to get in my face! I told bill I did not want any problems especially with my son right there. The way bill was acting was Rude, Immature, and violent! I de-escalated the situation and I went on my way. But I have now filed a report with the Milford police and I am pressing charges. Bill I have family in law enforcement and what you did was not only illegal it shows who you are as a person and how sick of an individual you really are. To anyone reading this I highly advise you to stay away from Bill and the Pruven Performance team. This entire situation could’ve been handled in a whole different manner. I was even willing to apologize for not making my appointment even after calling and still give bill the benefit of the doubt and the business to fix and enhance my vehicle but after this experience I will never do business with Bill again and I will also inform all of my business associates who have done business with bill about this situation and inform them to STAY AWAY!

I take all my cars to Bill. Whether it’s maintenance or modifications. He built my srt in 2022 and it turned out amazing. When I dropped the car to him it was kind of a mess. Breaking up under boost. Stalling, going into limp mode. He straightened it out with a solid tune and added some very nice modifications while we were at it. After that I picked up a 2018 SHO and let him get to work on that. Plugs, Tstat, intake and a tune, Big intercooler, oil pan, under coating, tires, That Came out fantastic. I’ve had zero issues with the car since leaving his shop. Currently he’s building a 1991 Galant vr4 for me, and as you might know. Something like that has its caveats. He’s sourced parts that don’t exist anymore. And is going above and beyond as usual. I’m more excited about this build than any previous. And I know it’s in the right hands. He also does the maintenance on my AMG. These guys know their stuff!

Thanks Bill for getting my 300zx back on the road. The clutch never felt better! Complete professionalism at explaining what needs to be fixed and why. He lays out the old parts to show why it needed replacement. You don’t have to worry about being sold things you don’t need like so many other shops. Also the knowledge and needed special tools for a multitude of car lines means they can fix almost anything and can fix it right the first time without guess work. I’ve been going there for 20+ years and every time it’s a positive experience!

I used Pruven's towing service after breaking down on I95. They came out within minutes and quickly got me off the highway to a repair shop. They could not be nicer or easier to work with. I would highly recommend them. Awesome people.

I recently visited Pruven Performance and I am so glad that I did! As an owner of a 2020 Mercedes GLC 43, I was looking for a way to give my car a little extra edge, and Pruven Performance did exactly that with their ECU tune and cold air intake upgrades. Pruven Performance has saved my soul! They were the ONLY place that could fix a quite unusual problem I had with my new (to me) car! I had gone to quite a few different places, including the car's own dealership! Even THEY wanted nothing to do with the problem! It was frustrating beyond belief!!!! THEN - I remembered Pruven and all the wonderful work they had done over the years on my 1999 Saab. Nothing was ever too complicated for them - nothing. They have my utmost respect and gratitude for all they've done for my vehicles, and they have just 'inherited' my newest addition to my automotive family. They are everything an automotive service center should be.

Bill and Bill are true professionals on every way. I decided to take My MB AMG to get serviced. I was tired of impersonal and pricey service at the dealership. Not only were they about 1/2 the price, they took time to explain everything, they were on time too. I brought them my 2nd car because I felt very comfortable with them. Trustworthy, great work, and they are nice people to work with.

I recently purchased an Audi SQ5 and I was very pleased by the car but after some time I was starting to get bored of the performance. I brought up my concerns to bill here at Pruven performance and he suggested a tune. Ever since I’ve fallen in love with my car again and every time I’m on the throttle I’m not worried about miles per gallon because I’m getting all smiles. In all seriousness though very pleased with the quality of work done here in this shop. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get their car on another level.

Please do you self a favor and do not bring your car here if you need any professional work done. if you get a flat they might be able to handle that. when i first went there to talk about some mods I wanted to do to my car both Bill Sr and Bill Jr were very nice. Bill Jr told me that I shouldn't use the parts that I wanted because I would have check engine light problems and it would not pass emissions so I went with he recommended and guess what ? The check engine light has been on 5 times and it will not pass emissions. I brought it back and now they want to charge $260.00 to fix something they caused after I have already paid them $5000.00 for the work done. After arguing with them for about an hour I gave in and told them to just fix the car and I will pay. Another customer came in while we were arguing and Bill Sr proceeded to tell the customer what we were arguing about. Very unprofessional. They called me 2 hours and said you can come and get the car. They said they don't want to work on my car anymore and they will not fix it. they believe that their work does not fail they always want to blame something else. They are backyard mechanics masquerading as professionals. don't get sucked in like I did. they don't know what they are doing and become very arrogant if you have a problem. STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! most positive reviews are oil changes , tune up and normal repairs like that. If you need real work done go to a professional. Can't wait to see how professional Bill Jr likes to make himself sound when he responds to a negative review. don't fall for it. If he would just stand by his work we wouldn't have this problem

Outstanding service & incredibly passionate staff that absolutely goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable with all your automotive needs. I am no longer in Milford, but drive 40 minutes to have Bill the owner take care of our family automobiles. You will be happy you brought your car(s) to them.

Had a fantastic experience with Pruven. Broke down on I95 and called for a tow. Bill Junior arrived within 15 minutes and brought me to the train station where I could catch a train to New Jersey. Because it was Sunday I was at their mercy and put my trust in them to fix my car at a reasonable cost. Monday morning I got a call that detailed the work that needed to be done and the car was ready on Tuesday. Tuesday morning I got back on the train and when I arrived they were there to pick me up and bring me to the car. The serpentine belt that had come apart was presented as well as another tension “something or other”. When I get home I checked with my local mechanic on the pricing and he quoted me a range that was actually above what they had charged me. What could’ve been a very expensive nightmare turned out to be a low-cost minor hassle. I highly recommend this firm. Real good people.

Can’t say enough good things about Bill and his family business. Great service , fair price and very knowledgeable! Saved me thousands of $ when I had brought my Porsche to dealer for a failed taillight code and they said needed to replace both rear taillights. Brought to Bill at Pruven he took a look and said, nope just need a new battery, has been good since !!! So highly recommend for your high end car or your daily ride.

I've been going to Pruven Performance since 2017 and they are the best. They provide accurate diagnostics and honest advice on repairs. If you are mechanically inclined, you will actually enjoy bringing your car to them. If you have limited automotive knowledge, you will be comfortable with their explanation of services. I have my daughter go there and I trust them completely, knowing she won't come home with some outrageous story of woe. I've recommended them to co-workers, friends, and relatives. Back in April I had purchased a Subaru Legacy that had had some purely cosmetic modifications made to it—Stretched wheels, lowered stance, the whole nine. It was great to drive for the summer, but I ran into issues like bottoming out when pulling into certain driveways and always checking to make sure pieces of the car were still attaches underneath. Recently I purchased new, all-season tires and brought the car to Pruven to have them put on with hopes that I’d gain some natural height. When I spoke to Bill Sr. on the phone, he walked me through everything that would happen during the process and gave me an accurate quote on what the job would cost. A day after picking up my car, I had my first mechanical problem—something I had been warned about right after purchasing the vehicle. I had two misfires in the engine and the car could not be driven anywhere but to a shop, so I brought it back to Pruven. Again, Bill Sr. walked me through what was happening with the vehicle and gave me a handful of options. The following day, I went to pick up my vehicle and now it’s been running like brand new since. For all of my future endeavors, I will return to this place and will recommend that all of my friends and family do so as well.

I have a 2011 Santa Fe and my wife has a 2014 Sonata. We have been bringing both cars to Pruven Performance since 2015 for routine maintenance as well as unforeseen issues. I am impressed with their good customer service and straight forward approach towards maintenance and repairs. They stick to their schedule so I can always plan my drop off and pick up in advance which helps keep my family’s busy schedule on track. If something unplanned happens they are always quick to respond and they have towed my car in twice which saved me time. I used to go to the dealership but feel I get more value when I take my cars to Pruven.

I brought my car ( 2013 Toyota RAV4) in for service. Everything was handled with ease and I was happy with end result. Bill explained what could be wrong with my car and what should be done before starting any work and we decided what work would be done on car together before anything was started. I felt trusted in the process. Would definitely go there again.

Bill (owner) has continued to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and professional over the years. Unlike other mechanics I’ve been to, he takes the time to explain issues and options before knocking me over the head for thousands of dollars. Most recently, before purchasing a BMW 535 from a used car dealer, I had Bill do a once over to ease my mind. He immediately found the car needed a new water pump which saved me over $2000. Bill did not even charge me a dime for his time and diagnosis. Would highly recommend to anyone and do all the time. Top notch

And the way you balance the tires is extraordinary. Nobody takes the extra effort to make it exact like you do. Also, I want to thank Bill for cleaning and shining up the inside of the wheel rims. I had my 1967 Camaro garaged since 2006 and decided 2020 was the year to take it out and get it back on the road. Needless to say there was much work required and after research I chose Pruven Performance to get my 327 back in shape. The recommendations I received from my friends were spot on. The staff at Pruven diagnosed all the mechanical and electrical systems on the car at a reasonable price. Together we agreed to a scope of work that included purging 14 year old fuel from the gas tank to repairing the electrical systems.No detail no matter how small was overlooked. The staff at Pruven are knowledgeable, friendly and most of all trustworthy. I am impressed with the results, now my red Camaro is ready for the road.
