Had my car for over a month and wouldn’t update me on the repair. I had to call them repeatedly to get an answer. No professionalism at all

Their services are excellent and affordable. They truly live up to their name. It's family-run, and the love of and interest in cars seems to run in their DNA. They are friendly, considerate, and funny as heck.

Above and beyond service! My check engine light came on before work this morning, they were able to fit me in today AND drove me to work! Got everything fixed up, good communication, and I picked my car up after work. They even filled the air in my tires (not part of the original issue). Super happy and will be using them again for future issues as needed.

We arrived to have an emissions test done just minutes before they closed. They were very nice as to do the test right then and there.

Terrible experience Had an outter tie rod replaced. Left with the vehicle making a horrible noise. Owner doesn’t have time to look at it. Made excuses his technician is old forgot to rotate your tires. When I come back tells me the manual wheel hub locker apparently got turned on after leaving there. Additional 600 to have tires rotated and balanced with an alignment. I asked to speak with him about it stated he struggled getting off 32 lug nuts. Also picked up a nail in his back parking lot tells me there everywhere from a previous customer and charged me to plug that.

I don’t leave reviews like this lightly, but people deserve to know what kind of work is being done here. I brought in my 2005 Mazda 3 for repairs and left with more problems than I started with — including some that put my safety at risk. I later paid for a full diagnostic from a trusted shop, and what they found was both alarming and frustrating: • The O2 sensor was replaced without addressing the rotted, leaking exhaust it threads into — making the repair useless. • The heat shield was left loose, now rattling on the muffler — I was told this noise was just “a bushing.” • The lower front ball joint bolt is incorrect and wasn’t secured properly. • The right front axle was installed wrong and is visibly stretching and popping in and out — a serious hazard. • Even worse, the axle and spindle were replaced without my consent. I was never consulted, just billed. • Lastly, the shop looked at my control arms and told me they were fine. A second opinion confirmed they’re dry rotted and unsafe, especially under braking. That should’ve never been dismissed. I live in my car. This isn’t just about poor service — it’s about my safety, my shelter, and my trust. I gave this shop a chance to do right by me, and they failed on multiple levels. Now I’m left paying for their mistakes. If you’re considering bringing your car here, think twice. Cutting corners and skipping consent on major parts is not just bad business — it’s dangerous.

Literally a small town family-owned and run garage. Mike, his son and the other family members and staff there are super friendly and have been able to help me out with all of my cars and repair needs over there the last 10 plus years. And with reasonable prices you can't ask for anything more. Thank you all!

Extremely nice people. I showed up as a walk in and 10 min later I walked out- easy peasy. Everyone was just so pleasant and respectful. Would not want to go anywhere else.

I paid almost $2000 for fuel injectors and a tune up because my truck had started bucking. Soon after I got it back it did the same thing. Brought it back and all of a sudden my brake line was conveniently shot. So after all that I noticed they drove it around for almost a hundred miles burning up most of my gas. Never going back.

Great family owned n run auto shop. Honest and fair. No hidden fees or unnecessary parts or repairs. I've been a satisfied customer for 3 years.

Went there for an emissions test which I hadn't done for years given I lived in Florida. They have an extremely smooth system and I was done in a very short time. It's inexpensive and the folks running the shop are courteous. It's a family run business and I plan to bring my car in for repairs and regular maintenance.

Absolutely terrible, do not go here. Brought in my truck for an oil leak, the first mechanic said it was my valve covers. Scheduled for a Tuesday, dropped it off in the AM, midday the owner told me it was the rear main seal. Picked it up that afternoon re-scheduled for Thursday. Told me it was an eight hour job, cool. Dropped it off Thursday in the Am, returned at 3 pm to pick it up. Truck wasn't ready. I was told "It's an eight hour job, we don't even have eight hours in a day. Don't worry the owner is a little slow but the job will be done right." So they had it an extra day. Picked it up Friday afternoon, I paid $1,300 for the "repairs". Sunday evening comes along, oil leak is back in my driveway seemingly worse than before. I look underneath and he forgot to replace at least 3 bolts on my transmission bell housing and also the dust shield, let alone what other missing parts I can't see. I take work off to bring it down first thing Monday morning when they open. Owner tells me it might be my valve covers now, but the rear main was leaking....right. Still trying to pull a fast one and charge me more to fix that. Highway robbery. Look elsewhere for a mechanic because this place isn't it.

Paid >$1400 for a handful of repairs (5 total, with one being very minor). Within 48 hours 4 of the repairs had broken “again”. Made a new appointment because the owner is a friend of the family and was given a guaranteed time my vehicle would be ready. 20 minutes before that time arrived I get a call telling me they couldn’t find a part at a JUNKYARD to fix their “repair” and would have to order one, so I’ll be without a car for another couple days. ~$1600 for 1 repair to work and junkyard parts…. And it’s 3 days late. Made an off the cuff comment on Facebook about this situation, and apparently everyone has been hearing similar issues recently. Moral: don’t continue spending your money at a place because that’s where you’ve “always gone”. Go somewhere that the work is done right, and done right the first time, at a cheaper price. After I pick my little sedan up in 1-4 days, you won’t be able to pay me to go back to this place. Got a window fixed as part of it…. $400 (also broke again). Asked another mechanic today about that job… he quoted it at half that. Would give 0 stars if possible. Paid too much, took too long, wasn’t done right, unprofessional, and overpaying for JUNKYARD parts. Fix your car yourself… probably get the same results for free.

The family-run auto repair store is wonderful. Everyone is quick, efficient, friendly and very helpful. I did my emissions testing here and they were also kind enough to help me change my license plates once I obtained my car registration.

DO NOT AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! Do NOT go to this place! If I could give them no star I would!!!!! They went ahead and replaced my battery did a oil change, replaced the belt and the alternator, only to call me and tell me that it’s ready only for me to get there. Tell me my engine knocks. So they replace all of those parts only to tell me that my engine needs to be replaced. I should have listened to the reviews on this place and I hate myself that I didn’t. Take it from me…. Please…. Go else where!!!! These people will take your money and smile in your face knowing they ripped out off. Stay far far far away!

My family has been coming to Small Town Auto for many years. Always quality work, affordable prices and no double talk. In a word, trustworthy. Go there with confidence.

This was my first time going to Small Town and WOW- I HIGHLY recommend! Michelle at the front desk is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and prompt in responding to phone calls. I had an accident in the recent snow storm and they were able to get me in immediately to have my car seen, and if I hadn’t damaged a certain part, it would have been ready in one day! They took extremely good care of my vehicle and did EXCELLENT work. I’ll absolutely be using them for all of my car needs in the future, 100% recommend!!

I went in the afternoon for emissions test, they weren't busy. I was shined asked to park the car at the designated location and handed over the keys. Do take cash for inspection, they don't accpet any other mode of payment. Waiting from had a screen to see your car get inspected. It was chilly on the summer afternoon. Will go there again next time.

They are really friendly and also quick. I go there to get my emissions done, and I NEVER have to wait more than 10-15 mim! I would for sure highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their emissions done, and in a very short amount of time.

My friends and i were driving from Massachusetts to New York and ended up breaking down. They were the only auto shop around that was considerate of our situation. Not only was the staff and the front receptionist Michelle incredibly friendly and accommodating but they made sure to run the extra mile for us to get us out of there as soon as they can. Im forever grateful for them, would absolutely recommend this place!

I highly recommend Small Town Auto. Michelle at the counter in front so very friendly and patient and always has a smile on her face. I can call her many times on several didn’t occasions and she has a lot of patients with me. Every time I need an appointment Michelle gets me in right away. I never have to wait. I can even call the day before. Mike(The Owner) always comes out to say hi. I think it is very important as a customer. He makes me feel confident about my vehicle. They are very sincere. The mechanics are also friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I trust them completely and won’t take my vehicle anywhere else.

I've been going to Small Town Auto Repair in East Windsor, CT for over a year now for all my auto needs. I think they're very down-to-earth, and if you have a limited budget they will work with you to find the best solution for the lowest cost if necessary. I've never had any issues after numerous visits and have recommended them to my family, friends and coworkers!

Took my Jeep Grand Cherokee for a coolant issue that worsened and overheated suddenly while had exhaust issue being diagnosed at a 2 star Enfield Monroe. I used this shop before with and always had top notch first class service! Told the mechanic from small issue a week ago and in under 3 hours ultimately was a bad relay and coolant I saw gunked up the radiator. Mechanic was excellent, quick, and very knowledgeable. Always had a great experience there, never disappointed, reasonable priced, and they always work with you. Ten stars if I could give.

Took my Audi for an emissions. ..did not pass..needed a 4 hour $455 thermostat. . ONLY.. .3 days and $1,200 later they put a generic timing belt a generic water pump, changed my oil and checked my fluids. ..NOW less than 24 hours i have a puddle of OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. ..i took the Audi back to Small Town Auto to have it checked for the damage THEY DELIBERATELY did to my car.... All of a sudden i need more work done at another $400....STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROCKS THEY KEEP THEIR HANDS IN THE POCKET OF ANYONE THEY CAN .. Total RIP OFF they are smooth talking THIEVES
