Hike the Decalibron loop on 6/22, Lincoln is the 3rd peak for clockwise. Very beautiful view. The weather will be very cloudy in the afternoon and the it is freezing.
Summit number 3 on a 4 peak loop. An awesome way to spend a summer day in the mountains. Rough road, definitely need a suv or truck to get to the trailhead
Hiked Lincoln on 9/23. The wind wasn’t too bad, but it did start to snow on me. Started at 2:30 p.m. after working a day and got back to the car just before sunset at 7. Best way to do four 14ers.
I highly recommend doing the hike clockwise. You go up the stepper path to Democrat and then down the shale path after Bross.

Favorite out of the 4 decalibron 14ers, has the coolest summit, is the highest, however the ridge in between Cameron and Lincoln can get extremely windy, gusts of 40+ when I was there. Couple good photo ops and places to hide from the wind in the summit though
Mt. Lincoln is a nice 14er in central Colorado, just west of Alma. It is the third of four peaks which can be summitted in one day: Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln and Bross. Of the four, we liked Lincoln the best. It is tallest and was the easiest to climb from a nearby summit (Cameron). It has a distinct peak with a strong face and commanding vistas. It also has a couple of dramatic cuts in the rock near the peak for stunning views.
If you reach the peak of Cameron, you definitely want to do Lincoln. Lincoln is way better than Cameron.
The rumors about the step descent from Bross are true. Steep, dry and lots of loose footing - many areas have nothing solid to use. You will slide early and often - ski down the mountain, but not in a good way. The descent is not enjoyable; you will be glad when it is over.
Once you're atop Mt. Cameron or Bross, getting to the top of Mt. Lincoln is easy and a bit adventurous! The trail to the top is along a knife ridge and involves a short class 2 (on a nice day) climb to the summit. You can see quite a bit from there! Interesting thing to look for are yhe mines and also the two geological markers. Have a nice hike!
About the easiest 14er to start with. Not a lot of vertical gain nor horizontal distance from campground, compared to other 14ers. Can do a one day triple play with Democrat and Bross if you are fit enough. You also traverse the Cameron summit, which was formerly a 14er under the "old rules", while going to Democrat.
