The other day my boss told me to get rid of a lamination machine. He said, "Take it to the dumps and bring a receipt!" So I looked up where I can recycle some metal. N boom Modesto Junk Co. Took it over, the guy checked it out with his magnet, and voila I was good to go. Moved the machine for me with the forklift, weighed it, and I got some cash . Was in and out in under 5 minutes. Quick and easy. Entrance was easy, just watch for the cones & signs.
I pulled up into Modesto Junk on my ebike. I got off my bike and looked around for someone to help me. There were three employees that looked towards me, but looked at me like I was some sort of nuisance. Finally one of the guys came over to me and basically said sorry cant help you, you have to have a vehicle with a license plate in order to get service here. Well, jeez I'm so sorry, my bad, didn't know that and pardon me for even stepping foot on the premises. They definitely just wanted me out of there and didn't want to be bothered. I could feel the love...... Needless to say it was very awkward and I felt like I was not welcome and that they wanted me gone pronto. Customer service skills gives this a one star rating.
Had some spare copper and metal laying around when I was cleaning out my house in Modesto and brought it here. Keith and team got me a super good price for it and the process was very easy! Happy customer
Super friendly and professional. They picked up old appliances from my garage and made it quick and easy. Great attitude and clean work. Highly recommend!
They had steel plates over a trench that popped up when i drove over them to exit onto 9th st. The steel plate punctured my tire and i had to buy new ones which were expensive. I called to let them know and ask if they could help me since the plates were incorrectly placed (bouncing up and down and moving instead of sitting on solid ground), they took my phone # and said they would get back to me. never heard anything
Went back few months later to recycle some more material and they told me i was banned from ever going there again
This place has no integrity and doesnt care about their customers.
I wouldve sued them but would cost me more time and money than i would get if they would even pay.
dont bother going here as they dont care about harm caused to their customers. im sure theyll post some non-sense about being honest and in business since 1920 but their actions say otherwise.
go to a yard that keeps their property clear of objects that will ruin your car's tires
qq to get some money for your scrap, good prices but more importantly the guys working the scale are honest and friendly, good employees and very straightforward. Be aware that they do run the transactions through the states system so a regular guy without a contractors license will take 3 days to cash out, or they can mail a check which takes about a week or so.
All the workers here are always super helpful and it's a great place to recycle many types of waste. They pay for a lot of it too which is always a plus! Would recommend!!
Always came here as a kid and now feel nostalgic coming here as an adult with my own scrap metal from my own projects. Service is always good, polite folks working here.

I've been in Modesto for 26 years. I've driven past Modesto Junk hundreds of times but today was the first time I went in there, and what a great experience. I had a 60 inch flat screen. Tv, very heavy, I needed to get rid of and the process was so easy plus they paid me for the tv. If you're you're tired of waiting for a e-waste event to pop-up, just take your unwanted electronics to Modesto Junk company and just about anything else you don't need anymore.
Not worth a common mans time. I took a bus with my PC tower and monitor. I waited my turn. Then was refused service for "NO PRIVATE VEHICLE" go green with us they say.. nothing on the website states ONLY WITH LICENSE PLATE. let me know you see this folks.
The guys up at this junkyard company were very professional and helpful . I highly ecommend this business to get your top dollar. Jeff kept his word and took care of me and now I’m going to be scraping forever :)

I come here and recycle every Tuesday every week and I always experience a good time and no problems! The workers are nice and friendly and say good morning to you! I’d recommend recycling here to the next person! Plus good price for cans and bottles
I absolutely love Modesto Junk Co.! They are conveniently located on 9th St between major intersections L and O, which is perfect for me. Every time I come there, whether I have 1 bag or 10 bags of recycles, they always help me out. The workers are friendly, and when parking is a hassle, they guide you so you can get parked in a timely manner. They pay fairly, and are my go-to for recycling!
I have always had a good experience with this compan. I'll keep coming back because people are nice and services are fast. Okay i was trying to put a 2nd review but ill add to this one. Still love coming here and ill always give a 5 star review
Great price for cans and great service. One time a guy stole a bag of cans from my bin while i was turned around. An attendant promptly informed me and said they would review the camera recording. They called me that afternoon and told me the video did show the theft, and they sent me a check in the mail to cover it!

I love coming here when I'm strapped for cash because you know ya girl be broke sometimes! lol. But all the staff are always incredibly fast, friendly, and polite. They make sure I'm in and out fast! I especially appreciate Robert's customer service skills, he's a total sweetheart! It's always a kiki when me and him talk at the window, I love it! Haha. Keep up the amazing work guys! I have been here several times. I like the convenience of driving up to the big blue barrels and pouring the cans and plastic. You can do glass as well. The first time I saw the conveyor belt was confusing especially when the guy took the barrel, I thought to myself: I didn't weigh the cans. I noticed that is their scale. After that it is business as usual. The staff is friendly. They do have an interesting statue of a metal man. I will be going back to recycle again with them.
We've been bringing our CRV recycling here since we moved here 7 years ago. I'd rather have full service curb side recycling like in Atlanta. This place is busy, but they are always helpful and efficient.
I enjoy Modesto Junk Co, all the workers and staff are friendly and very helpful. It can get pretty busy, but they do well at getting you in and out as quick as possible and they pay the highest prices in Modesto, definitely recommend coming here!
Went on a Friday and was very busy, staff was very friendly and helpful. Brought a truck load of cardboard and received $7.80 not sure that is very feasible but we just wanted a way to get rid of so much cardboard. I had read reviews of this place and I was glad my experience was a good one.
