Great place to bring your cars for mechanic work! The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They also offered great and helpful advice. Most importantly they are very honest and trustworthy regarding their craft. 100% would recommend.
Fantastic mechanic. I like to do my own work on my cars, but my living situation never allowed for it while living in Benicia. I looked around for a bit and ended up coming to Benicia Auto Repair because of the great reviews, and I can attest to those. They were always accommodating time-wise, Kim always kept me in the loop on how the job was going, what they wanted to fix, why, and how much it would cost. When I came to pickup the car, they always offered to explain what'd gone wrong with the old part too. You really don't see mechanics offering such a transparent and helpful experience anymore (in my experience), but BAR is definitely an exception and I really appreciated them for it. Professional, experience mechanics & were able to diagnose the problem of my vehicle. My vehicle was secured overnight inside their shop & repair was completed early the next day. The cost for the repair was reasonable and I would highly recommend this auto repair shop.
Communicative, friendly, honest, and transparent people! I recently had my Honda Accord serviced for AC repair (Compressor) and install a new starter. Additionally, I brought in my 2016 Nissan Altima for spark plug replacement. They’ve completed both of my vehicles and successfully repaired the issues with no problem at all.

The group at Benicia Auto Repair we're extremely professional and were able to get my truck repaired in a very timely manner. They were very thorough in their investigations on what could have been wrong, and their prices were extremely reasonable. Will definitely be going there again if anything else goes wrong.

I called several shops in town about the check engine light on my Volvo. No one had time to look or said they didn’t touch Volvos. The next available appointment at another shop was 3 weeks away. I finally called Benicia Auto repair and they were super helpful. I got in the next morning to have them check the code and they diagnosed the issue and fixed it that day for a very reasonable rate. Through the whole experience they were accommodating and great to work with.

I came to Bee when I was in a year long hole trying to fix my car. My usual Subaru dealership failed royally, so I brought it to a shop in Benicia which took $3,000+ to "fix all of my issues" (I won't mention the shop's name), but yet again I lost a substantial dollar amount and still had a broken down vehicle.
After the length and dollar amount of these obviously frustrating issues, I put my trust in Bee. He knew the issue with my vehicle was an air flow problem (after a diagnostic reading). I paid him a very low labor-fee/fair part-price amount for the fix. When it was finished, the light came back on due to not knowing which of the three parts involving air-flow needed repair (the computer code from my '13 Subaru is not highly specific). Being the stand-up guy he is, he independently had my car looked at by a professional diagnostic colleague of his, and eventually ended up fixing both of the other parts from the SAME $ amount I payed in the beginning!
My car (after a whole year) is now running great. He stuck with me through the confusion, and provided me with good service.
He, his wife, and co-workers are always a pleasure to see, but most importantly, they all have something that is so important in any line of work, but especially auto repair, job integrity. I have made a few good friends during the process, and without question, I'll be bringing my car here from now on. I'd recommend this shop to anyone. Five stars.
This place is awesome. I went for what I thought was a minor issue and it turned into something bigger, but Bee worked with me and my budget and now I am forever grateful. Definitely recommend them. They really care about you and your cars safety
I drove down from Oregon to Cali about a year ago now for work and my starter went out. I'm a mechanic and knew it was a starter and I called around and all other places wanted me to bring it to them to diagnose before changing it. I called Benicia Auto Care and told them I wanted my starter changed and they got me back on the road in no time. When I'm down here in Cali, time is money and they saved me both! I've been back to Cali about 3 times now and its been almost a year since they changed it and I still have no issues. Great work and even better people. Highly recommended!
They blew my head gasket and my car won’t even run anymore, let alone at all like it did when I brought it in. They won’t claim any fault. AVOID THIS SPOT IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR.
Recommend highly!. Friendly, honest & knowledgeable. If only we lived closer! During a road trip, we had a flat tire. Came here, since highly rated. They changed out tires but noticed lug nuts didn't quite fit, called supply store & secured right ones. Then checked & inflated tires and safely sent us on our way. No charge even when we tried to insist.
They made our trip and made us safe! Terrific!
Honest and reasonable prices. I asked to have my spark plugs changed and once they started they called and told me they still looked good so I chose to not have that work done.
I've taken my Toyota to this shop twice and the guys do a great job for reasonable rates. They're friendly and I believe honest as well (when I asked if they wanted to look at my old Volvo, the mechanic said "I don't mess with those things", which I absolutely respect. I'd rather hear that than have them take it in just to try to make money). Good shop here!
