I had some issues with the local Ford dealer so I came to Ed Hanson's shop. Their team was polite, professional, and sympathetic to the month long debacle that I encountered with my Shelby GT500. I wish I would have came to these guys first. They fixed my car in a matter of hours and reignited the passion for my dream car that had dwindled over the years. I highly recommend these guys! Every bay was full of beautiful classic cars ever furthing my confidence in the quality of work I would recieve from Ed Hanson's. Well done guys!

These guys are the exhaust experts, I’ve taken several vehicles to them. Most recently they worked on my Porsche 911. In order for the car to pass SMOG they installed new OEM exhaust manifolds they sourced, the original catalytic converters and some Tubi mufflers that I supplied, along with all the old clamps, and they were sure to be careful when removing and reinstalling the 4 O2 sensors. Fit and finish is excellent considering all the reused parts.

Had a new exhaust system installed on my 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1, Ryan and Kevin were great! They helped me get the exact result I was looking for, very professional and courteous, exceeded my expectations!

Very friendly and helpful. They did a free diagnostic and when it turned out it needed to go to another show they did not pressure us or charge us when we took it back to our mechanic. I will certainly bring any muffler business back to them in the future.

This place should be 5 stars. After researching online, Ed Hanson came up as one of the most highly regarded and reputable exhaust shops in San Diego. Quality of work is on point and I am very happy with the work done. However, the upselling of services is off-putting and post-visit experience is annoying. I came in to have my exhaust tip cut for extra clearance for my 4x4 vehicle. A simple request. It took 20 minutes to have my entire exhaust system "examined" and for them to offer to replace my muffler and y-pipe in addition to cutting off my exhuast tip. I do not drive a performance vehicle. I just needed simple work to be done. After declining the extra services, it took only 10 minutes to have my exhaust tip cut off and a new exhaust hanger welded on. It took longer for them to examine my exhaust system and create quotes for extra work than it did to have the actual work done. I have since been receiving constant emails and texts to leave a review. Customer information that should be used for record purposes is instead used to annoy customers for reviews after service is done. Quality of work is great. Pre and post-work, not so much.

This is my second time going to Hanson’s to get my exhaust done, 1st time was my 2006 navigator and this time was my 65 C20 and they did an excellent job on both my rigs. If you need good work and an honest price? This is your place

The team at Ed Hanson’s was super kind, quick, and very reasonably priced. My exhaust was super messed up when i brought it in, and they had diagnosed it within 20 minutes and fixed it in less than 3 hours. I didn’t know my car could even sound that quiet, drives 10x better than it ever has. I really appreciated their hard work and expertise!

I changed the exhaust on my Subaru Outback but had a terrible drone in my car at freeway speeds. I went to Ed Hansen's to see about maybe changing the mufflers, but the technician, Joe, had a better idea! He added two Helmholtz resonators to the bolt-on exhaust that I already had. What a difference this made. No more drone on the freeway, and it actually quieted it down a little bit. Professional job! Thank you, Joe and Ed Hansen's.

We had an excellent experience at Ed Hanson's Muffler shop in Spring Valley. Our 45-foot RV lost its tailpipe, and we were struggling to find a shop that could handle such a large vehicle. Abraham answered our initial call and confidently confirmed they could help. The technician Joe did an outstanding job, custom-bending 5-inch pipe to fabricate a perfect turn-down exhaust pipe. The work was precise and professional. Bonus points for a very clean bathroom, too! Highly recommended.

I had a weld break at my header pipe while driving home. Called in said I was coming in. When I got there I was directed right into a bay, drove out 15 minutes later. Great job! I've used Ed Hanson's many times over the years, always good.

Got a flow master and two muffler deletes on my Audi all road, would definitely recommend this spot. I think they took out a resonator too because my car had a lot of them. They polished my exhaust tips free of charge which was a rare and really nice gesture!

Very happy with Ed Hansens work. Not only did he replace the catalytic converts on my 2006 Jeep but he fixed an issue with the hanger I didn’t even mention to the shop. Nothing is inexpensive today but I was treated fairly. They thought it would take 4-5 hours and they finished is in two and I was on my way. I’ve been there twice and came away both times happy with the result.

I came in with no appointment looking to get some work done on my car. I had a decent setup with headers and roush axle backs etc, and it just wasn’t clear/loud. The shop did a fantastic job making me a custom catback setup and I got to hear and see a few different mufflers/tips before settling on some flowmaster 10 series. Extremely happy with the quality of the work and the exhaust note achieved in only about 2.5 hours. Will definitely be coming back for all my future exhaust work here!

Professional, personable, and efficient. Called to have my 2024 5.0L F-150 evaluated for my bolt-on Borla exhaust being too loud and raspy. They said they could take me immediately. I arrived and my truck was immediately pulled into the garage. Technician recommended a muffler change and a new performance Magnaflow was welded in. Entire process was about 1 hr. Very fair price and the truck sounds just how I want it to. Well done Ed Hanson’s! Side note, this shop did a great job on my 1995 Ford Lightning back in 1998. You know the business is good when it’s been around that long and still providing top notch service in the automotive industry.

Needed a replacement tailpipe for my diesel pusher. These guys knocked it up in about an hour. Great work, Have used them for over 30 years

Came in with no appointment and was immediately tended to. I bought Honda Civic SI exhaust that needed to be welded together (cut on 1/2 for easier transport) and installed on my Civic sport. Installation required welding on hardware and hooks on the drivers side because the car only comes with one exhaust stock. Fitment was great and everything I could ask for. Abraham was the person in charge at the time and he was very helpful and easy going. 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend this muffler shop to anyone looking for honest and quality work.

My 2017 Toyota Tacoma needed a new exhaust system after receiving a few damages from trail driving. I used Ed Hanson's Muffler shop for a number of my previous vehicles and they've never failed to give me excellent services and products and this latest custom exhaust is no exception. Not only does my Tacoma sound awesome, a side benefit is a 2mpg bump up in highway mileage. I highly recommend Ed Hanson's Muffler service for ANY vehicle services.

Everything is Topnotch went to this place without an appointment and they accomodate me verywell they suggested and make a custom exhaust on my liking. So I initially thought they did a good job although it appears they are only good at doing showroom quality work and not work that is actually being used. 1 year and less then 5k miles later the entire headers back exhaust system they did started to fail. The new aftermarket magnaglow catalytic converter they used came lose and started rattling bad. Clearly not their fault it's a manufacturer defect. When I called and talked to the shop manager the first thing he said was it was probably because I gave it too much fuel and my tune was too rich and blah blah blah. This is a 2006 Tacoma with a modern V6. Not a carbureted 1970 mustang. This knee jerk reaction led to me have it fixed and replaced by another shop with a factory Toyota car, $1900 later. Hopefully the passenger side will hold up longer before it inevitably fails. After further looking at their work, their are hundreds of pin holes in their welds all along the exhaust. It's wild, is be more then happy to show anyone. The bottom line, they do hack work, and do not stand behind their work whatsoever. They will blame you if there is anything that might hint they messed up and it be their fault. And if you get any exhaust work done here, it had better be for a vehicle you don't plan on actually driving. I will be telling everyone in the mustang and off-road community to stay far away, as loud as I can with both the rattling cat I have in my garage to show them as well as all the failing exhaust welds and horrible pipe bending work that looks like they used a hammer to beat it into shape. For a $5000 custom exhaust, this is insane.

I always have used this shop (15+years) to do my exhaust on my project cars and personal cars. The front desk is polite and friendly. It’s in the back with the two exhaust technicians is where the magic happens! I couldn’t say one bad thing about getting your car or truck done here. When quality counts.
