When we have large cardboard boxes to recycle it's nice they have the bins at their Williams St entrance. Only available M-F till 3pm.

Worst and more than twice as costly service since 1995. Missed pickups on GARBAGE (brown can) today, 10/13/25. Placed on hold for 20 minutes before dumped to voicemail. Flagged down green can driver and he tells me in Spanish to call the office as I'm on hold (phone to my ear). "Maria" called later and expressed no concern as business as usual. For this I pay almost $100, double the price of not long ago. It helps speaking Spanish. Desgracia. As a footnote, by corruptly fashioned law, we are required to pay for "services" for (in our case) FOUR months when we're not in town. Figure what that's worth to PSDS annually multiplied by 1,000's. Likely approaching high six figures.

They drive so fast at 6-6:30 am I always see them almost hit cars reversing out of local parking at the time they have no patience when leaving or arriving it's becoming a problem on Williams Street tk the point where I installed security cameras to record all the near misses

I've had nothing but great service from Palm Springs Disposal Service. I've called in numerous times for additional items to be picked up on trash day. The receptionists have always been friendly and my items have always been picked up.

Palm Springs forces residents to have trash service even if the house is vacant. I sold my house in Palm Springs and I won't fall into that trap ever again.

Always helpful and positive. Many services I didn't know existed. Thank you!

Storm Hillary hits Palm Springs, CA last week. I had to put "green waste" (tree branches; cut small) in both my trash cans (green waste recycle and regular trash). They did not take the regular trash and when called I was told it was because I had "Green Waste" in it my waste trash can. Can you believe it and right after a big storm!!!

They are incredibly picky about what they take. If everything isn’t gift wrapped with a bow on it, they don’t take it. In all seriousness though, anything that falls out of the cans they leave on the street. Today it was recycling debris and yard waste spilled on the lawn. One can was in my neighbors yard. . This happens because they won’t take anything that is not in the cans. This forces homeowners to cram trash into the cans, mainly recycling items. With home deliveries rising there is more cardboard boxes and packing materials to be disposed of. I never know what to expect when I go down to pick up my cans, but I guarantee there will be something left behind. Their rule “if it doesn’t fit in the can. they don’t take it !creates a lot of extra work to break down trash for them. They have the homeowner doing their jobs. I don’t know what people who have physical disabilities or not strong enough to make their trash perfect for the boys. Not everyone is capable of breaking down boxes, compacting trash or bundling items. It’s ridiculous, everything is an extra charge, and even then they want it gift wrapped. So many rules and regulations to collect the trash what used to be a simple task is now a Sunday evening project. I’m fed up with this weekly ritual. Now we have a third trash can for food and yard waste. All these cans take up a considerable amount of space in my garage that I don’t have.if we’re going to be forced to do their job I want to be put on their payroll. . If the service was better, it would make it easier to deal with this nonsense. The poor service needs to stop. In addition to the trash collectors not doing their jobs properly, the office staff is no better. They are arrogant, and rude. We should not have to put up with this sub par service. . My guess is they can be this way because they are the only game in town. Maybe it’s time for a little competition, and request city hall to put this job out for bid with other waste disposal companies. When there’s a lack of competition this is what happens you can expect, poor service. It’s a monopoly as it stands now. .What happened to free market and the right to choose who you want for services. I think it’s time to call city hall and shake things up. That’s going to be my recommendation.

Sometimes the trash can is overlooked, and I call the PSDS and they send the truck back right away to pick up my trash.

Couldn't reach by telephone....music on hold for a long time. No answer by a human. Recording says "Your call is very important to us." If it's so important, why not have additional agents to answer the phone? Bins destroyed by automated truck. Not easy to get a replacement. Recording on the PSDS line disconnected before I could complete message. Finally called the operator instead of an agent. Operator was very nice and helpful. She made arrangements to replace the bin within a couple of days. Their operator deserves a promotion. PSDS needs a bit of work on their automated system that connects you to an agent.

Complaint...I am a residential concierge property manager, and time and again at all of my Palm Springs locations the bins are not emptied at all or only partially. Often the bins are picked up by the dump trucks and then dropped on their sides on the street or in front of the driveways. Tell your drivers TO PAY ATTENTION to what they are doing. In conclusion...Please have your office return phone messages. Remember , We are the customers so please show some courtesy and respect. Thank You.

The website is in dire need of more information. I have been trying to contact them for over a week by phone, by website chat, by email and have not had anybody return my requests...

They take old electronics without charging a fee. Better than dumping in the garbage.

I complained about my trash been not being emptied last week. First, no one ever answers the phone. It all goes to voicemail. I am hearing impaired and when I try to understand the messages they leave it is impossible. I call back and get voicemail again...but hit zero and got a live person. I requested that my blue bin be emptied as per our service contract. After getting a lot of hassle and telling the operator 10 or so times I could not understand her with her bad headset I turned the phone over to another person...Promised pickup next day...Never showed. I complained again...I was ignored. What does it take to make a simple request for fixing a missed pickup problem. I could go on about the hassle the lady who picked the phone up gave me, but why bother....these guys suck.

Over and over again, I say to myself, " wow, they are so helpful and nice ". If i need extra bins, then send them right away. If I have bulky items, they are always happy to take them. If I over sleep and miss the pick up- they are happy to send the pick up again , same day. Just always super nice and very customer service oriented. Even the guys who actually pick up the bins are super cool. LOVE THEM ALL. ( especially Carla- she is an angel! xx )

The receptionist for ordering a dumpster didn’t tell us the weight limits so we had to order a second just to didtribute the weight and we had to shovel dirt from one to the other. A huge waste of time that could have easily been prevented. Also, a second receptionist I spoke to about another issue told me he’d call me back “tomorrow” and never called back. I have called again and still no call back after I left a message. I will go into the office I guess. It’s really sad that this company is a monopoly in the PS area.

On a number of occasions recently our garbage was not picked up, including yesterday (Friday) at 477 Mariposa Lane. Neither was my neighbor's garbage picked up yesterday at 469 Mariposa Lane. Just because we are a short deadend street should not mean we are passed by with the rate we pay and have no choice in choosing a responsible garbage pick-up company.

I called PSDC to report that my trash can for the past 2 weeks has been only half emptied on Thursday pick up day, I didn't expect to have anyone come out to pick up, I just wanted to alert PSDS so they would empty at the next pick up. First off when calling you never get to speak to anyone, always have to leave a message for a call back. I received a call back at the end of the day from a girl named Liz, I explained the problem she told me some one would be out "tonight" or tomorrow morning. I left my trash can out until 8 pm, I realized it was not getting picked up I placed my can on the side of my house, which is visible from the street. I didn't want to give burglars any idea that I wasn't home. As this was to be a special pick up I left the can on the side of my garage 10 ft from the st and visible. It was never picked up, I called again to see if they were coming out, I was told by "Liz" that "they" came by this morning and can was not in street. This is the part that angers me, Liz said, "I told you yesterday that the can needed to be out front in the street by 6am. This never happened, she never said that or I would have had it out in the st. Normally my trash is picked up around noon. Again this could have waited until next trash day, but she said it would be picked up. Liz admitted she may not have told me to have the can out by 6 am but everyone should know that trash cans should be out by 6 am. She told me to hold that she was transferring my call, of course it went to a voice mail, Liz called back as she forgot that I had called earlier and asked me what the complaint was. (I felt like I was going in sane), She realized that she had spoken to me earlier, I asked if my trash was going to be picked up today, she said no it was to late, there was no longer a truck in my area. She repeated the line she had told me earlier that it was my fault since my can was not out at six am (as she claims I was told to do) and continued giving me a lecture, I stopped her and said this conversation is over, I don't like being lied to, I asked to speak with the manager, after several minutes on hold, Liz returned and said the mngr was out in the field and would pick my trash up in 10 minutes. I left work early to get my can out to the curb. Bottom line just be honest, don't promise something you can't follow through with, repeating the same lie Liz doesn't make it true. So sad we don't have a choice of trash company.

Very lazy people that work for this company I called the trash people on Friday around 3 o'clock and they close at 5 regarding my trash not being picked up because there was something put in it that should have been in another trash can nevertheless it should have been customer service and a courtesy to pick up the trash and then send out a notice in the letter instead of letting the trash having the scent for almost three whole days before it can be picked up so I give them a one crappy

PSDS is a great company. They are so responsive and Carla is so nice and efficient! I wish all companies in the Valley had folk like Carla and her associates to help us in matters pertaining to our homes!

Terrible company. They never return the trash cans to the house gate. I pay for estate walk-in service. They leave the trash can on their sides in the street. Trash is not getting fully emptied. They collect the trash so fast and make a mess in the streets. They already got away with reducing the minimum necessary hygienic and sanitary 2 weekly pick ups in this desert environment to only 1 weekly pick up. Now with the 100+F heat, the week long trash staying in homes is really stinking up the town. You can smell Palm Springs.

Carla, who works for Palm Springs Disposal/Desert Valley Disposal is a real asset the this organization/business. Each and EVERY time I have a question or concern or need, I send an email to Carla, and she responds promptly, and professionally, even if it to tell me she routed my email to a different person with in the company. I just can not say enough to explain how great I feel Carla is as an employee of yours!!!!!!

I've lived in Palm Springs for 28 years and owned a home there for 27 years and Palm Springs Disposal Services is the best disposal company I've ever had in any of the many cities I've lived in. They are very dependable and helpful.

The new services planned will challenge many who are not full time residents of the area serviced by this company. With one collection a week, we will be forced to place trash/recycles out on days other than collection days if we are not here on collection day--this just compounds the problem. Gate service is not the solution if we lock our gates. And there will be a charge for green waste where there is not one at present. Suggest we send comments to the City Council for their further review--or we seek another vendor for this area.
