What clients say about Riverside County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Center in Palm Springs (CA)

Very quick service. I've dropped off here several times and the workers are always courteous and friendly. I'm glad this service is offered and will gladly hold my hazardous material on-station until they open to drop it off properly.

Very efficiently-run operation. One lane of cars weaving their way in. Two workers open the trunk or hatch and remove the materials to be discarded. One-minute time frame. No charge to discard. They wear gloves and masks. I hope they stay safe.

I really appreciate the service of picking up 1-3 bulky items on trash pick-up day. I have used PSWD for 12 years with only good service.

Google shows they open at seven so I drove across town only to find out they don’t open till nine. Could somebody fix this?

Could not have been easier. No wait. Drive-thru. They unload. Very friendly staff.

Easy peasey SATURDAYS ONLY check holiday schedule, or enjoy tennis for your wasted trip. But there awesome there friendly! Didn't know I could shop for items like paint as well.

Dropped off loads of paint on Saturday morning, and the whole thing took 15 minutes. The folks there were super nice and so efficient. I know this gets a bad rap for the limited hours - which are clearly posted online and in person - but with a little planning they made it super easy.

They need to change open hours on their website. I brought hazard materials during business hours and they are closed til Saturday when some people got to work on Saturday. SMH

Their website says they’re open every day from 9 to 2 then that is not true. They’re only open on Saturdays from 9 to 2. I wish they would update their website so people don’t waste their time driving across the city. Only need to have to come back another day.

They never post when they are closed on a Saturday. Very lazy on their part.

All the HHW locations are open 1 Sat a week this is ridiculous people are illegally dumping toxic chemicals because there is no convenient way of disposing them. This is an important program to prevent environmental pollution and Riverside county gives people 1 day a week smh. 2.4 million people with hazardous materials have one day a week to dispose of their HHW. Get your act together Riverside!

Every time I go to this place , it is closed. Even if it isn't a holiday week I'll show up at 9 am and nothing...California is the most environmentally regulated state yet they don't make it easy to dispose of hazardous waste safely...make it make sense

The hours are clearly posted everywhere. It’s a Riverside County operation. As with all hazardous waste disposal sites, you are not allowed out of your vehicle. I find it easy and convenient.

Super annoying that you can’t count on reliable hours of operation at this place. Drove an hour and a half to this, the closest location, only to find out that they are closed on the penultimate day of the year. That’s not what the posted hours on their business profile said. What other operation on planet Earth is only open 3 hours a week one day a week and then gets to take the day off because it’s New Year’s Eve EVE? Inexcusable.

Too much can , cants. Does and don’ts. . They make it easier to dump in a dumpster, let them figure it out. Plus

on 11/26 - This place was not open for business as designated by the city website and there is no number to contact anyone to find operating hours. This is a dis-service to the city of Palm Springs and Cathedral City. This is not the way to deter the constituents of both cities to refrain from illegally dumping hazardous waste in trash cans bins. Good Citizens Deserve Better. I waiting a solid hours and then made subsequent trips before the posted operating hours to no avail. If you can find other options do not trust this service to be available.

Quick and easy to safely dispose of e-waste and left over paint from the garage. Very helpful staff. In and out in minutes! And no need to get out of the car. The crew took care of everything in a safe and efficient process.

If there was a way to go minus on the rating I'd use it. Since virus distancing is in effect you must remain in vehicle, unable to see what is going on. The lazy man that I ended up with said they could only take 120 lbs. and that was my limit. Two crates, maybe 20 lbs. each at best is all he took and told me to go to the dump. No wonder people dump illegally. This place is a joke. I am sorry I have to go back again.

Yes, it's only open on non-holiday weekend Saturdays, but you don't have to wait in a long line for a quarterly event like in other areas, the guys are all very pleased and helpful, and it's open for several hours EACH Saturday that doesn't precede a holiday. We love not having to store stuff for three months while we wait for a "disposal event." The hours do vary between "the season," when the weather is cooler, so it doesn't open until 9, and summer, when it opens at 7am.

Hours on line were listed open until 1pm on Saturday. Got there at 12:30 and they were closed - sign in front said hours were until noon. Please correct information.

Place is usually closed. Generally closed on any holiday weekend. Only open Saturdays. No wonder people dispose of their hazardous waste in other ways not in keeping with environmental concerns!

I called to ask a question about TV Recycling and unaware that I would be talking to someone out of my area I asked her if it was the location online. She was so rude to reply that she didn't know where I was, she was also rushing me to get off the line. Pretty crappy customer service. Look into new reps, maybe?
