Rico literally saved my bacon last i was in Monterey. I caught a curb wrong and blew out the tire on my rental. Rico not only had one in stock and saved me like $60+, but his team rotated, balanced and calibrated the tires for me! If you Ever need tires, come see Rico before you go anywhere else. He's amazing!!
Rico is my go-to mechanic and I've recommended him to many friends and coworkers. He will tell you the truth, whether you like it or not, and he's also a very good boss to his worker as many of whom have been with him for many years.
Came to Monterey via sailing vessel. New United is super close, to the harbor so we walked over. It's really more of an auto shop than parts store, although they do have parts. The gentleman checked out what I needed and returned with two options, of which he didn't charge me for. They are looking out for their fellow man there! Thank you.

Fair prices but the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Had a tire that I ordered online delivered there. He put it on, but the tire sensor was broken when I picked it up (can't say for sure that he broke it, but it wasn't broken before). I ordered a new sensor, had it delivered there by UPS, he signed his name for it upon delivery, but when I showed up a couple days later to have it put on, he couldn't find it. He ordered a new one, promised me that it was the same sensor, so I went back for the third time to have it put on. He put it on and said it was good to go, but it turns out he put the sensor on wrong (the washer has to go on the outside, not on the inside on top of the seal), so my brand new tire was flat by the time I got home and the wheel had cut the inner tire, completely destroying it. Wasn't even a week old. Finally took it to a dealership; they said the sensor was an off-brand sensor AND wasn't reset, which is why the sensor light will never go off (this guy said "drive it 20 miles, it'll go off"). They immediately identified that he put the sensor on incorrectly because the second brand new tire they put on wasn't holding air, which they noticed before I drove off and ruined it again. A waste of several hours and out $120 for a brand new tire. Guy's a joke. Not to mention he never called my wife when the sensor was put on because "he got busy and couldn't call her." Avoid.
Would definitely recommend this auto shop. They were able to identify the issue, get the part delivered and switched out within 40 minutes at a very reasonable price.
Rico and his team of mechanics are the best. I needed quite a bit of work done on my vehicle. They were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problems. New United folks are thorough and efficient. Solid guys with strong work ethics. A great neighborhood auto repair shop.
Rico is a trustworthy mechanic. They stay within their quotes and don't try to upsell you on things you don't need. I've been to several garages around Monterey, but New United is the only one I'll go back to. I've got a 2004 honda civic and they'll help me keep it running well.
Rico has been my family's mechanic and I never been disappointed. As a woman, I always fear mechanics and how they try to make things difficult and more expensive. But Rico is different ....He is fair and honest and all around good guy. His dedication to his customers is wonderful ..I would recommend him to everyone and anyone.
Rico is my go-to guy for everything with my car and motorcycle. He is honest, will even go the extra mile when you need a ride back to work if at all possible, and his prices are very reasonable. Everybody needs a car guy (or motorcycle guy) like him.
Rico and the guys really helped out a friend that I sent there , who like many , are financially exhausted. Rico came though for this friend on a late Sat. afternoon. Also $ 300.00 less than other places she went . Again thanks Rico and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
