I had the pleasure of visiting O’Reilly’s today and meeting Manny and Yoana. They exuded a welcoming and friendly atmosphere as soon as I stepped inside the store. Their extensive knowledge guided me effectively in selecting the appropriate oil, filter, and brake pads. Their exceptional service and outstanding customer service left a lasting impression, making it one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while.
I had the misfortune of dealing with TOM today over a two year old battery that has very clearly failed.
I already did the diagnostic work myself. After charging and testing it properly, it showed 63% state of health. For anyone who understands batteries, that’s not “healthy.” It’s barely hanging on. The issue isn’t whether it can take a charge, it’s that it won’t hold one.
Tom’s response? “Bring it back tomorrow and we’ll see.”
No, Tom. I don’t want to “see.” I already saw. That’s why I’m here.
Is the replacement battery coming out of your personal paycheck? Because the level of defensiveness would suggest it might be.
The highlight, though, was when I explained the testing process and he sarcastically replied, “Oh, so you must be a master at this.”
Yes. Actually. I am a Master Tech. Some of us spent years learning how to properly diagnose electrical systems instead of hiding behind a script and a charger.
If the goal was to avoid honoring a warranty by pretending a temporary charge fixes a failed battery, mission accomplished. If the goal was customer service, that battery isn’t the only thing that’s failing.
Customer service was excellent went their to buy all my car needs...thank you to marlinna&Lydia...answered all my questions and was very patient with me even tho I took long and asked alot of questions lol.. very understanding to both of them...🙏🙏🙌🙌 Merry Xmas...O'Reilly Auto Parts...
