Well, I would have given them one star, but they did let me leave the car that they couldn't fix on their lot for a few days... So I guess they deserve a second star. I paid $180 dollars to have my car diagnosed by Ponderosa Auto and when they came up with nothing to resolve the issue, they wanted another $260 to look at it further. I also didn't like how they recommended the most expensive towing company. I paid $180 dollars for the diagnosis, $180 dollars for the tow there, and $150 dollars for the tow back just one mile up the road. Customer service was acceptable but the mechanical service not so great... Kind of wishing I'd picked a different mechanic.
Update, they reached out to me very politely and explained the situation a little more thoroughly. I will add a star for customer service sake.
Went in for an oil change today and they noticed a massive, hidden crack running along the inside edge of my front tire with the cord fully exposed. I knew my front tires needed replacing soon but I would have never noticed how the tread was completing tearing apart and ready to blow any second. If it weren’t for these guys looking out for my cars safety when I was just there for an oil change, I would have 100% had a horrible blowout. I went to get new tires immediately after the oil change.
…i was also able to bring in my own oil + filter and their labor prices are excellent!
This is great shop!! Very trustworthy and up front with pricing. They went above and beyond to work with my extended warranty policy and made the process smooth and simple. Will use again.

I found this shop when I first moved to California and had to have my truck smog tested for the first time. Since then I have had several appointments with them and they have taken really good care of me. As a woman that now lives alone far from home and family, I was concerned about finding somewhere that wouldn’t take advantage of me. This shop has been amazing to say the least! It’s like having local big brothers that can help you out. They always take the time to explain things to me and give me options. Their prices are very reasonable too.

James and his crew at Ponderosa Auto Express are always friendly, professional and prompt. What started as a couple smog checks for our vehicles has turned into them taking care of all of our maintenance and repair needs. They just put a new fuel pump in my Ford F250 and did it in a very timely and affordable manner. We’ve been recommending this shop to all of our friends and family, some of whom have already started using them. Highly, highly recommend.
I have a 73 Mustang and they replaced the master cylinder on it top-notch job and didn't leave the car full of dirty hand prints whitch is nice compared to other places iv had work done. They're really quite the shop for a little place like that they do very good work I'm very impressed get in here and spend your money local these guys are awesome I give them 5 stars!
Always courteous, helpful, quick, with reasonable prices. We have a 2001 Subaru and a 1997 diesel Ford truck that they keep going. We are quite happy with their service and track record.
Quoted me $900 to replace 1 axle and $3000 to replace both control arms on 2011 Camry. I went to my always trusted Foothill Automotive and found out that the control arms were not bad and got both axles replaced for $900. They tried to upsell me on the controll arms that were still good. Total rip off. Won't be going back there EVER.
In response to Pondorosa's claim this is a fake review. It is not. I understand and respect the impact that Google reviews have and the trust that people have in them. I have never and would never post a fake review. This was a verbal quote with nothing written. I've never had an issue of the quality the work performed by them. Just this outrageous quote.

I came in knowing I had a blockage in my air system.
These geniuses told me it had a blown head gasket.
When I asked them if they checked the plugs, they replied "why would we do that?".
Don't pay these guys for a wrong answer.
Carstar wanted to charge me 1200$ for a repair - I was suspicious. So, I took my Tesla to James and Ponderosa Auto. James worked with my schedule to get my car assessed and found…surprise, I needed half the parts and labor! I have referred Ponderosa to at least dozen people now and they swear to be return customers. It’s hard to find a good honest shop like Ponderosa.
I took my took my pickup in for a brake inspection $25 but when I picked the vehicle up the bill was $105 , $25 for the brake inspection and $80 for labor. I think that is a little excessive since no repairs were done , only a quick inspection
, I don't think that I will be coming back.
This place is great, they have always treated us so fairly and done an excellent job of taking care of our vehicles. It can be so hard to find a place you can trust with your car, and I feel so confident dropping my vehicle here and I know they're going to be honest and fair and not rip us off. Highly recommend!
BE AWARE. THIS SHOP DOES NOT WORK ON DIESELS.
They claim they do, but when I took my truck in, they said it needed a compression test and that they couldn't do it. Anyone that know about automotive, knows a compression test is fairly basic stuff. And to top it off, they totally missed the blown Turbo and obvious smoke coming from the exhaust. These clowns also wanted to charge me $140 for only doing a half of a diagnosis. Needles to say, I only paid them $70 for a half way job. It's obvious to me that this shop is only interested in getting Diagnosis money instead of a whole job.
I took my truck to "Integratie Automotive" and received waaaaaay better service and respectable quote on replacing my Turbo. My truck runs like a champ now. Ask for Jessy.

Just got my car worked on here for the first time. As a woman I felt heard and not dismissed when asking questions. Andrew, the manager, was very helpful. They caught things that I had totally forgot about. Overall, I am satisfied with what they had done for me and my car.
These guys are the best in town or in the greater area for that matter. I’ve taken my vehicles to many different shops and none compare to these guys. Paid a 125.00 repair bill to diagnose engine light for minor vacuum leak. Was informed if approximately 1500.00 to change valve cover gaskets and radiator.
I opted for no service and had wife pick up car. She drove it to our home, a distance of 508 miles. And today I opened hood to find the engine cover had not been reinstalled along with the four bolts that hold it In place. I await their answer to this

Andrew and James have taken care of our repair needs for the 3 trucks, one car (for me) and the various cars my daughter has had. They are fair, give you all of the necessary information regarding price and what's needed and keep in contact with us regarding pending repairs.

Friendly, knowledgeable, expedient service. Staff communicates very effectively what is needed and what the costs will be. The customer service is excellent, and I always feel like they are looking out for my needs. With major repairs, they always give me options and I feel that they always give me their honest opinion.
