What clients say about Whole Foods Market in San Ramon Village (CA)

We shop at Whole Foods San Ramon weekly and have so since it opened. Our question is why is it always minimally stocked in many areas, particularly the prepared food section and bakery department. We have been to dozens of other Whole Foods, and they are well stocked and seem to have help in every department. This store seems to be poorly run and managed and we just can’t understand why Amazon doesn’t address this situation here. We can’t be the only ones who notice this.

It’s been a long long time since I shopped inside at Whole Foods. I’ve done a lot of orders through their Amazon process. I’ve ordered flowers. I’ve ordered food fresh vegetables, a slice of fruit. It’s also one of a few places that carries my dog fresh food. The reason why I don’t go to the store is the parking lot is chaos. It’s hard to find a space on the weekends and most evenings but when add a feature as they take Amazon orders back, they have key boxes for easy check-in. They have two individuals there who can help you if for some reason the kiosk isn’t working and they work very quickly and they only are taking orders unlike UPS who are more often but only because of convenience of Location I find the quality of food, be higher and better than most other grocery store chains as well as better selection so I will continue to order mostly once a month or so via the Amazon app.

Whole Foods San Ramon has become a favorite stop for fresh meats, and their superb selection of cheese. This store also has great, and varied, snacks.

Had the always friendly and helpful cashier with pink hair today. Unfortunately the bagger was the exact opposite. Never thought I'd leave a review because of a grocery bagger but here I am. The girl had attitude and rbf to spare. Anyhow, they should promote the pink haired one and lose the bag lady.

It's always a pleasure to visit Whole Foods and see the same quality and care across every branch. Wherever I go, if I can find a Whole Foods market, I'm sure the things I'm used to will be available and ready for my enjoyment.

I love Whole Foods, the eggs are noticeably fresher (especially important when you bake). I buy my meat here, cheese, produce as well. I do wish they have more selection at times but I do understand that some brands may not fit their standards.

I’ve shopped at this location for years, but recently the freshness of the dairy and produce has declined. In the past month, I’ve purchased spoiled milk and moldy produce here. I haven’t had these issues at other Whole Foods locations, including Dublin. I’m sharing this so the San Ramon team can address the quality and food-safety concerns. I’d like to see this improved.

I know a lot of people like this market but prices are over the top. People need to wake up. You are not getting anything special

You had better use self checkout if you shop here, or they will steal the shirt off of your back. We bought around 26$ worth of groceries but later that night we realized we were charged over 80$. The next day we came back to the store to try and resolve the issue. We were shown a receipt with all the items we bought and a list of items that were not ours and that we did not take home. Instead of fixing the issue they wasted 30 minutes of our time before telling us there is nothing they can do and to call a customer service line. We refuted the charges through our bank and will NOT be coming back.

Just bought flowers and asked to be wrapped. The guy from produce refused because he had to clock out at 9. It was 8:50 when I asked and it takes 1-2 minutes to warp the flowers. Very customer friendly.

Greetings Whole Foods. In regards to the self serve hot food 1) please change up the options regularly and 2) why do you use seed oils (canola)?

I really enjoy shopping at this Whole Foods in San Ramon. The store is always clean and peaceful, and they have a great variety of healthy and high-quality products. I recently tried their beef jerky and it was delicious—definitely one of my new favorites!

This Whole Foods is one of the most depressing ones, quality of seafood and meat is subpar. The staff is rude and deli or hot foods section is subpar. Dublin or other Whole Foods are far better - dont know why this one is so bad

My son purchased salmon on Monday April 7, 2025. He said the fish was unfreash. What's going on Whole Foods? You should give employees your old fish instead of selling it to the customers. We pay a higher price for QUALITY FOOD. Not nasty stale fish.

The Store is just fabulous. I love the organic fruits. I used to enjoy my experience getting fruits till Sunday Nov 3rd. I got an organic watermelon on Sunday and decided to cut it Monday night. I noticed a foam on the top of the watermelon and water around it. I was not able to explain that specially that the watermelon was very far away from the kitchen sink and dish soap. I washed the watermelon with regular tap water. I brought kitchen napkins to dry the watermelon surface before I cut to get shocked by the source of the bubbles?it was the watermelon. I could not believe my eyes so I decided to rinse it again with tap water and clean it with towel. Once the knife ? touched the watermelon, the watermelon exploded everywhere.. the smell and texture. Since I had since incident and I am really concerned about the definition of organic and not really sure about the right contact point to help investigating the situation. I will attach a video of the watermelon and I am sure the store cameras got me while doing the purchase that day. I just hope that this get investigated as I do not feel safe eating fruits after this incident..

This store was actually good at one time but in the past couple of years has gone downhill. As a San Ramon resident for over 15 years, we’ve had some issues with the way the staff treats you specially at the food department. Last night was the last chance we gave this store. My wife tried to order pizza and the lady told her in a rude tone that they’re not making pizza anymore at 6:30 pm. Then the lady starts speaking Spanish with another staff member and walked off to clean. My wife asked the other staff member and he actually took her order. Then my wife tried to ask for the lady’s name and she was rude again and started speaking Spanish with the gentleman again but she didn’t realize that my wife understood everything. To make it short, a complaint was made with the manager and she brought the pizza home. To our surprise, the simple just cheese pizza was burnt and dried sauce and it was so gross to find chicken or whatever bone it was on the slice so we trashed the whole thing. I don’t recommend this place for anyone because you never know what’s in your food. I will never waste my money or time at this place. It’s funny how we’ve had issues with Amazon and now Whole Foods!

Today I visited Whole Foods Meat section to buy chicken and drumsticks. The young butcher at the counter cut the chicken and throwed it on the counter while i am still standing there and left the counter to go home without saying anything. I understood he is in a hurry to go home, but when I stopped and told him I need drumsticks, he grunted irritably. Management should give him a training on customer satisfaction. But the girl at the check out counter greeted and helped to put the chicken packs in to the bag. Kudos to this girl. Update: After opening the package, chicken skin is 50% NOT removed and meat is not cut fully. All the pieces are still connected. I had to remove skin and cut again. Good bye Whole Foods, I am never coming back again

The super market as a whole is clean and well stocked. We often come in to return Amazon products and honestly we have received the worse service there. Employees are usually chatting and do not bother to greet you. When they mess up, they tend to blame which is meh. I don’t expect a lot there. Besides that we like going to the Bakery on Fridays to order a large one topping pizza for $12. The quality ranges from artisan level on Friday afternoons to mediocre (weekends). When it’s great, would rather eat the pizza here than Pizza My Heart and they are pretty great. Don’t forget to ask for the olive oil to be spread on the crust. If you have Amazon, use your prime discounts for additional savings. Enjoy another 5% off your total purchase if you have an Amazon credit card.

Definitely bit pricier compared to other stores but the quality makes it up for the price we pay. Fruits and vegetables are so fresh. You can notice the difference the moment you enter the store. Amazon locker & returns are some add on convenience. Lot of health options in general.

Love using my Amazon account at self-check out machine and the Amazon return counter here! Nice plants for sale now as well.

We wanted to go visit a Whole Foods and we decided upon this one by Bishop Ranch. The facility looked nice. We came to check out the ready-to-eat food they have available. We were impressed with what they had available and couldn't figure out what to have. We had a little bit of everything plus some soup. It was a fun experience albeit a bit on the pricey side. (this visit was over four months ago)

Went into whole foods to drop off an Amazon return to avoid paying a $6 fee to drop off at UPS Store. Walked out with a $30 tart. Well played, Amazon. Well played. And a very yummy tart.

Great selection and quick service. It is also a place for you to return your Amazon items today and Mother’s Day celebration. They had set up a great selection of flowers for a quick pick up and pay, which was really nice and convenient.

This is a large and roomy Whole Foods Market. Everything was nice and clean although it seemed the bread selection was a bit skimpy.

I observed that the prices of certain products was almost double than what I pay for in other grocery stores. So I did not buy anything. Why pay so much extra. However, it's a very well maintained supermarket with a variety of food items. It was not crowded at all during a weekend. Bakery products looked delicious. I liked the variety of alcohol and flowers they offer.

Not the largest Whole Foods that I have shopped at, but one of the busiest and friendliest. During the workweek, the lines at the deli and pizza areas are long filled with Bishop Ranch office workers. This was the first Whole Foods that I started ordering my custom-made cakes for family and friends. The bakery department has always been helpful and very attentive and can have introduced me to different cake flavors - Chocolate Eruption, Tres Leche, Neapolitan, Vegan Chocolate, Lemon, etc. Their fresh fruit tarts are always gorgeous to look at and are a big hit. What I like about this Whole Foods is that they have the floral department right in front of the entrance, the flowers smell awesome and are very tempting to purchase. I am also a big fan of their fresh produce. Their fruits are usually ripe, juicy and flavorful. This store usually has fresh fruit samples and this has definitely made me purchase more than I was originally coming to Whole Foods! Parking can sometimes be tough because this one doesn't have that many parking spaces. Be patient it's worth it. 10/14/2017 Update: There is now an Amazon Locker inside next to the front entrance
