I called up there for a steel rim, and as soon as they got on the phone they were rude. It was as if I was inconveniencing them by asking to purchase the part that I needed. I drove the extra hour and a half round trip just so I will get my part with a smile from Badger motors in Wisconsin Rapids. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.
Found them via car-part.com. Worked with Chris via email. He wasn't the most responsive, very short. Wanted a core-fee to sell rims. Took a few days to hear back after requesting photos, and ended up ordering 1 rim. Took several emails to get the tracking info. Rim arrived in advertised condition. Not a business I am jumping to work with again, but can't complain too much since the item was sent to me as advertised.
Call up looking for a rim I was told they have plenty of them come on down I also asked if he had a tire I could throw on it cuz I need it for a spare for a road trip I'm taking I get there they can't find the rim then when they do finally find a rim 30 minutes later they bring the wrong size tire so he calls the guy on the radio to get a different tire and a guess what they don't even have the size I'm looking for that was an outer waste of 2 and 1/2 hours my time
I bought a part from there told them if it doesn’t work am I able to bring it back they told me yes within 30 days and I lose 20% come to find out I had to read the bottom of the corner anything electrical I can’t return so pretty much screwed me out 150 bucks I don’t know why they agreed I could take it back if I got the wrong part knowing I couldn’t
Drive a hour and a half to get a part. Turns out to be the wrong part. Not on their part by any means. But being the wrong part they had another one o.ln hand but in the car. I was willing to wait for them to pull it real fast. 2 bolts and it’s out. And I would have been omw.
Awful customer service through and through. All the business I have given them In the past years is out the door.
I bought a transmission from those junk yards $1,160 dollars travel 1 hour and 50 minutes they opened up the transmission they took off the bolt that hold the filler how is this a working transmission when you purchase something that expensive you expected to have all parts to it and they expect me to travel almost 2 hours to pick up bolts that go inside that's absolutely ridiculous and expensive please inspect all parts you purchase from this junkyard
the guy was very nice i went to get a radiator for my truck works great for pretty cheap price yes it was damaged a little like i couldn’t fit my shroud on but that’s to be expected buying stuff from a junk yard
I had a fantastic experience working with Chris at Holmes auto salvage. Super nice when I called and when we agreed on a fair price for my classic 1963 Dodge. He stuck to our agreement. I even brought him some extra car parts because I was so happy with our deal. THANK you Chris for a really nice experience with HOLMES AUTO. 👍
They charge you $50 core on a transmission on the front but nothing on the sales order says you have to return it in 6 months. You find out the core has zero value to you after you make the trip back. Like the core i left anyhow now has no value to them. Shady, deceptive, all for another buck!! Don't waste the drive, stick with Cousineau where you won't feel taken!
Got a transmission for a good price, i rebuilt it but honestly probably didn't even need to. Very polite and friendly staff and they don't sell junk...
Person at the front isnt very polite or personable. Should probably have a discussion with him to explain that customers are what keeps the lights on. customers shouldnt feel like they are inconveniencing you on your chair time.
This is the absolute worse place to buy parts for your vehicle. Two people we talked to there lied about the part and then they don’t give your money back when you return a non working part in the 30 day warranty window. They come up with reasons as to why it’s your or your mechanics fault as to why it doesn’t work. So they don’t have to return your money. I suggest if you need parts for a vehicle to shop somewhere else!
I replaced my catalytic converter on a 99 Saturn so I checked around to recycle the old one. They were selling on eBay for $150+. And I understand that any place would have to manually inspect one before paying you. Holmes Automotive isn't in my city but it was the closest one and I already checked with the scrap yard in my town who offered $60. I called ahead and explained that I wanted to be sure it was worth the drive out there. I asked the guy what they'd typically pay for 4 dot catalytic converter. Just ballpark figure because if he said $100 (assuming it's full) then I'd drive there. But if he said $50 or less, I wouldn't. I should've known when he refused to answer but I read the reviews and everyone said they're good, honest people. So, I drove there, the guy offered $30, wasted my time and gas. Thanks, Holmes.
The staff at Holmes Automotive Recycling helped me get the proper part. Not only do they sell good parts but the prices are reasonable. They pull the parts for you so you do not spend all your time out in the cold looking for a good part.
