Can’t say enough good things about Zuern (Cedarburg) and Ethan, our consultant. He taught us what we needed to know about deck material and within a few days we had a price. Options were discussed so we knew what choices were available for different price points. We would definitely recommend this company.
I’ve initially left 5 star review, as my initial encounter was very engaging and appeared to be very productive. Oh, how wrong I was!!
Jared was the one who helped us, or pretended to. We met at showroom, looked at the windows and picked what we want. Jared made a lot of notes and confirmed with everything we needed. Unfortunately for us, we had general windows description with our contractor and didn’t do an addendum to reflect all the details to the windows we’ve discussed with Jared. So despite all the notes Jared took, 4 months later we got wrong windows!! And Jared acted like we’ve never discussed anything. So we’ve paid another 10k to fix his negligence. It took 6(six)months to get it fixed!! Per our contractor they had to order it 3 times to get the right size. When installers came, it turned out that Jared ordered wrong size jambs!! So it is 13 months later and my 30k project turned into 40k and still not done…
Fantastic service from Ryan Schrank @ Zuerns! Ryan was very detail-oriented & thorough on my 20+ window replacement project. The Marvin windows turned out fantastic and everything went very smooth. Thanks again Ryan!
Not one but two sales personnel went the extra mile for me when I needed help and advice with finding economical material solution recently at my home locally. Thankyou .
Went in and talked to Brett about a deck. He never called us back with a quote. Guess we weren't good enough for him. He also made us feel like we were wasting his time and a inconvenience
I want to like Zuern because they are the only local building material supplier, but every time I've used them they have either under delivered, ordered the wrong item for me, and/or overcharged. Completely unacceptable when I'm doing work for a client. If you want a competent supplier go to Eastside or Bliffert.
Absolutely horrible and unprofessional...especially the architect, Craig Miller. He left things out of our house plans (important details like chimney, details on the spamcrete exct.) Our plan was super simple with 2 minor revisions. When we met and decided on a builder they brought it to our attention all the details our plans were missing...when we sat down with him and our builder, and went through the corrections there was never any talk of extra cost as we had already paid the $2100 for our plans. Only once we had left did he decided to email us and tell us there would be additional cost...additional cost at $75/hour to fix his mistakes and errors that should have been included in the original plans.(total of just shy of $400 ADDITIONAL DOLLARS) When we confronted him about it he was unprofessional and told us there was nothing he was willing to do about it and either we pay the additional cost or we don't get our plans. I would not recommend using him to draw up your house plans or zeurns all together. As they were willing to do NOTHING to make the situation right.
I wanted a quote for new windows for my home along with interior and exterior doors. Went in on a Wednesday and Alex told me the quote would be ready by Friday or Monday. I didn’t receive the quote. I called back 3 times to see when it would be ready. Alex was always busy. The 3rd time I called someone said they would get back to me that day. A week later I still haven’t received the quote nor have I received a call back.
I’m very dissatisfied with the service I received at Zuerns. First our service provider Alex, is very argumentative and he has poor communication skills. He quoted us a price on Marvin Patio Door and small Kitchen Window, we hired a contractor to do measurements and then the door and windows were ordered. We were told 4-6 weeks it is week 16 and we have no doors yet and they have my money. I inquired about the windows in July come to find out my small window was not ordered. They lied to me and stated it was a part they were waiting on ..... said the week of July it would be in. It’s August 14th and still not installed due to my contractors are busy with other projects. I call Alex for a copy of my receipt and said he couldn’t give me one . What????? I asked him why he indicated he need to get permission from contractor because they do markups they don’t want customers to see. UNBELIEVABLE so I have no doors that I paid for and now I need a complete strangers approval for my receipt!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOOLE, Alex’s favorite line is “ I’ll call you right back” and he doesn’t. There is nothing worse than a liar and unfortunately they lied time and time again.
Zuern has an expansive showroom displaying a wide range of products, from flooring to windows to kitchens and baths. Knowledgeable, helpful sales people, including warehouse personnel. A visit here is highly recommended.
I went in with a profile for base and shoe on a Saturday looking for a quote. They never got back to me and I tried following up once. Not sure what happened, small fish in a big pond?
Chad made a total of four major mistakes in a little over a year. Chad came to the house to look at our siding to match it. We offered him a piece of the existing siding to take back with him, but he declined. Zuern delivered the wrong product twice, including siding that was wood grain (ours was smooth) and the wrong profile (height). I spoke with one of the Zuern brothers (not Bob, he was actually great) but he still charged me a 25% restocking fee even though Chad inspected the siding and ordered the product for us. The brother told me that I should have made sure it was correct before delivery - I've never even been to Zuern: Their salesperson came here and inspected the product that we needed matched. This is now in dispute and will likely end up in legal action. I would be extremely cautious in dealing with the owners except Bob, and I would go somewhere else if Chad is assigned to your account. I can't wait to see the spin doctoring that they put on the response.
Great building supply selection that you won’t find anywhere else at a big box store. Most of the people who work there have excellent advice. I am downgrading my review only because the person my husband and I worked with to purchase windows was outrageously incompetent and we had to go elsewhere to purchase windows. For the rest of our extensive building project, however, we purchased all of our supplies Zeurn. The wood quality is so much higher than anything you would find at Home Depot, Menards or Lowe’s.
12k Into a reno and these fools cant get a door color and style right.... and then claim it is my fault ? Avoid Chad like he has the Black Plague, guy is so unprofessional I can’t understand why he has a job there? If you can buy supplies someplace else by all means go there and avoid this place... you will not regret it.
Great place...and what they may not have at this location, they can get from the main place in Allenton. Nice people too. I bought about 10,000$ worth of windows and very pleased with what we bought . Marvin Integrity double hung.
Beware of Zuerns return policy as a contractor. If you do an application for credit ask for an explanation of what is returnable as well if anything is "Special Order" before they "Order it up". I "Ordered up" some doors, two different manufactures showed up and they refuse to return with any policy besides the application of credit.
I also had a house designed, make sure you understand that if there is a design issue. your on your own and any materials that are ordered that don't fit due to their error is not their problem.
