Hands down the best mechanic in the area. As others have said, Nate is a no BS kind of guy. After getting the run around from other mechanics for almost 2 years on the same issue… Nate was able to diagnose and make my old beater run like new again within an 8 hour window. Will be going exclusively here from now on. Pricing is perfect. Not highway robbery, while also not being suspiciously cheap (aka no quick patch jobs that will break again later).
I have gotten work done here before. It was overpriced and poorly done causing me to seek out other mechanics to fix the issue. He left the car a mess inside and out with grease stains. Recently he went through the time to overprice me for work on a vehicle then made it clear that he is only performing the work as described, i.e. no diagnostics of the actual issue or other potential issues caused by the problem. Basically throwing parts at a problem without actually knowing the problem. He is and always has been unpleasant. This is a poorly operated scam of a mechanics shop fitting the stereotype of those scam artist mechanics to avoid.
We have always brought our cars to Nate's, because he tells us upfront how much the repairs are going to be. And within a few dollars, he's right on the nose. If you need something expensive done, he usually can find a good reconditioned part, that's hundreds of dollars less. He's the Best.
I was told by the dealership my truck needed thousand of dollars of repairs due to leaking differentials. Took it to Nate and turns out the seals on them were perfectly fine and bone dry. He fixed another issue in the truck and after having it there for just 4 hours I on my way. Won’t be going to another mechanic, I have no problem recommending him to anyone
Told us he’d charge us $140 to use the error code reader and that we should just go to autozone. Grumpy man, may he find joy and customer service skills again.
Update to his reply to my review:
(He says we don't know the difference between diagnosis and code reader but all we were asking was the code reader because I was 99% sure it was the battery needing to be reset and sure enough it was. We did it ourselves and as soon as we drove away from his shop the light went off. No need to undermine our intelligence, or greet your potential first time customer by annoying saying, "Yeah?")
I had been having trouble with my windshield wipers for a couple months now, and the parts that I had ordered for it were unfortunatly not fixing the problem. I just wanted them fixed at this point, so I called Nate's and was told to come in and that it was first come first serve. I live realtivly close so I dropped it off immediatly and was called a few hours later that it was ready. The service was great. I'm so glad I can drive in this rainy weather again!! Thank you to everyone at Nate's who helped me today :)
These guys are great! We had a little "incident" where my daughter's car ran out of gas and when I brought her the gas can, she did not notice that I had plugged the spout with a cork. She hands the gas can back to me and I'm like "where's the cap?". Oh, I don't think there was one...
Well, there was one! And now it is in the filler neck. I can see it with my little probing camera and filling the car with gas is a frustrating experience because it kicks off after about 2 seconds and you have to wait for the gas to get around the cork that is blocking the flow. This is a problem that needs a timely fix.
So I took the car to Nate's as my daughter has taken it here before and been very pleased with their services. I had taken a stab at removing the filler neck because I felt certain it was going to need a new one. At the very least, I felt that taking the filler neck out would be necessary to jiggle the cork back up towards the intake. This filler neck is a very pricey part, about $230 from the dealer.
A couple of hours later, Nate's gives me a call and tells me to come and get the car, it's ready. Turns out, through some ingenuity and patience, they were able to get the cork out WITHOUT removing or replacing the filler neck!!! This saved us a ton of money!
I will definitely be going back to Nate's Fast Forward with my cars now too, they really did help us get out of a jam.

They noticed I needed it and rotated them. What truly impressed me was their integrity when another big name shop claimed I needed new calipers, which turned out to be unnecessary. Probably our new local shop. We've been on the lookout for a trusty mechanic since we moved to the area 3 years ago. Nate's took care of our car when it finally decided to not start anymore after a few weeks of intermittent problems. The guy I spoke with (Nate I'm guessing) was straightforward about how long he thought it would take, provided an estimate once he had an idea of what needed to be done, and the pricing was fair. It's been maybe 2 weeks since, and my Element starts without hesitation now. His work took away the low-key anxiety out of driving the car somewhere ("what if it doesn't start if I have an emergency"), and that's worth a whole lot to me.
I'm going to start taking the old girl to them for her usual high mileage maintenance. As far as I'm concerned, they have earned my repeat business.
My starter went out and I had my vehicle towed to Nate’s.
His shop is first-come-first serve, and I was able to get my vehicle in right away.
Nate was straightforward, fairly priced, did good work, and was able to get my car back to me the same day.
All things I am grateful for in a mechanic!
1/25/23 - Took my 2016 Equinox to Nate’s Fast Forward that was stalling. He diagnosed the problem and repaired it within 1 hr and was fair and honest!
He showed me the failed part and explained the repair process fully.

Straight shooter! Keeps things honest and upfront. I've taken my car here 2 times before and I don't see myself going anywhere else. It is first come first serve which I feel should be a given and with my personal experience, he was able to get the work I needed to be done on my vehicle within a day. This man serves his community and the community knows who to come to
Nate certainly knows his way around vehicles. But if you tell someone they can drop their vehicle off over the phone and they show up 20 minutes later and are turned away. Definitely not the way to run a business!! And he thinks it is funny!! Rude as hell. The next time he decides to break his ankle he will not have my hard-earned money to support his medical bills!! Very upset!!! Also, I have left five voicemails in the last two weeks he doesn’t return your phone calls either.
I have brought several cars to Nate for repair, and I just finished having him do an inspection on a new used car I bought. Nate is friendly, fast, reliable, and most important, HONEST. His no-nonsense approach gives me confidence that he isn't interested in making extra cash off of unnecessary repairs. He works quickly, and we always got our vehicles back the same day. I highly recommend and will absolutely continue bringing our car to him whenever we need a repair done.
An honest mechanic, we dropped in out of the blue and Nate got our truck in right away for a evaluation, He found Everything that needed repairs and I mean everything he went over the beast with a fine tooth comb , Great price for great work !

I try my best to shop local and use local businesses, and Nate's is no exception. I called Nate to see if I could get my truck in because it didn't pass emissions. He said "sure".
We dropped the truck off after hours and it was ready by the next afternoon (he even had time to do a few other needed repairs). We passed emissions and tabbed the truck.

My air conditioning compressor and clutch broke and Nate was able to replace them for less than quoted and in less than five hours after dropping it off. Very impressed and would recommend to anyone!

Great small town auto shop! Owner and operator Nate is an excellent mechanic who REALLY knows his cars. Reasonable prices with quality service. Don't want to wait in the waiting area? Grab some snacks from Norm's, nextdoor, and walk across the street to Lundeen Park on beautiful Lake Stevens and relax in a covered shelter or lounge on the beach watching ducks swim. Who could ask for more?
Went to a big name brand repair shop this morning for an oil change and none of the mechanics could drive a stick shift! A frind recommend Nate’s and he was able to 1. Drive a stick (shouldn’t all mechanics?) lol and 2. Do fair work for a fair price, in a reasonable time frame. I love supporting small local business and he even took the time while writing up paperwork to talk to my 9 year old and answer some questions about things in his shop. This is a no frills place, but that’s just fine with me. You won’t find an espresso machine, but rather a man that knows his way around a car! I will be going back in the future for all our our car repairs and matainace. Today he made a customer for life! Thanks for taking care of our family car!
My suv broke down due to blown water pump, couldn't find a more honest mechanic than Nate if you tried.Fair pricing, efficient service, and will not try to upsell you. He has my business and I will refer others for as long as I can.
Dropped in at a moment's notice to get my truck looked at when my wheel started feeling like it was about to fall off down the street from him. He got me right in and answered with what's going on very quickly. Am normally cautious about going to a new place and read the reviews after dropping it off. I guess I can see what people are saying with him coming off as short, but I need a Good mechanic, not a new best friend. Guy knew his stuff and didn't try and sell me on anything unecessary, gave me an approximation on how long I can get away with driving as is. Will go back to him for all future work.
Called in to see if they could replace breaks and stated I already purchased the parts rudely said "I don't install people's parts" I said there brand new and I was hung up on. Place was recommended by family and I will never ever give this place any business at all even if my car broke down right in front of it.
My husband went in to find out about an oil change. When he walked in, the man asked him "what do you want". My husband told him what kind of car he had, and asked how much it would be. He gave him an enormous price, and then walked away. Said nothing else. Extremely rude. Will never go back!
