What clients say about The Recology Store in Issaquah (WA)

A huge variety of very cool, unique, good quality items, mostly made out of recycled materials. Practical household/culinary items, jewelry, purses--so much! And, did I say, a HUGE variety? A GREAT place to find gifts. Very nice store keeper, too.

Kind of an inconvenient location to bring items for recycling. I thought I was a customer since I live in King county but turns out I didn’t qualify, so I paid 12 bucks to drop off three small electronics and 5 books :(

Convenient drop-off location for electronic household recyclables. Sustainable store inventory left much to be desired. I wish that they would expand their bulk range to include more types of cleaners, soaps, etc.

This place is a game changer. We are excited for the new location and especially glad to see the same staff especially MARY! Even if I have brought something they cant recycle, she finds me someone who can.

Recology needs to get their stuff together. They randomly changed our garbage day without notification, email, text, snail mail. Contacted them twice via phone and the customer service rep stated they will have additional truck come and pick up the garbage. Only problem is the day came and still no truck. Called again and the representative said wait until 6 PM. Well it’s 723 am the third day and still no truck. Emailed their customer service directly twice and again no response. Their website was updated to say reroute but again no date was given. The whole entire neighborhood (over 400 cans) recycling and compost was not picked up. Ridiculous! While this re route schedule change is not the only time I’ve had problems with this company I even asked for a new garbage can and it took 4 months! Their CEO may need to go out to the field and work the routes and speak to customers to randomly change a day without notification is unprofessional

I was given this address while trying to find appropriate disposable of 15 medical grade, shipping styrofoam coolers. The address IS NOT a recycling facility and is extremely difficult to find as the address is in an open air, multiple unit, walk through mall, without external identification

I absolutely love this shop! 🌿 They have the best earth-friendly toys. I picked up a little ferry boat with cars—definitely the perfect toddler gift!

The Recology Stores are all truly magical - they accept hard to recycle items like Styrofoam and batteries. They also have the cutest selection of local soaps and gifts. I also love the refill station for lotion. This location in Gilman is my favorite, but I hope they open more soon.

I don’t understand why this place is endorsed on King county website, they only take a tiny amount styrofoam, no exception , upsetting

Not only do they have stuff for sale, they take electronics and batteries. You might have to pay for that if you don't have waste management through the same company.

My favorite store ever. They have everything you need and all sustainable and eco friendly.

Such a great store with unique gifts and more. Best part is the staff I met today…Mary was so kind and helpful in picking out some gifts. She and her coworkers were super proactive in helping me in a friendly manner. I’ll recommend all my friends go there because of the friendly staff. I made a purchase and they helped me schedule a $1k dumpster delivery.

This store is very cute and the products are nice but what really got us was the customer service. None. We came in and looked around and I’m gonna be honest we left because we didn’t feel important. It’s not worth the trip out here just to feel ignored. The employees need to learn how to speak about stuff in the back or quieter. It’s not worth it.

This place sells 40ocean bracelets for $10 or more USD that the actual company does. Therefore profiting by pretending to be collecting money for a charity. Disgusting act, I’m sure this isn’t the only way they deceive to make a profit.

Recology is the worst company I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Not a review for the store, but their services. Waited a month to get bins, finally did, then their employees took them back this morning, and customer service “doesn’t know why”. Seems like they have no real organization but they’re fine taking your money. Best of luck to others who have to use this service.

A very minimal store with things like water bottles, tea towels, sponges, little things like that. Not exactly a gift shop, as there’s nothing here that I’d gift somebody. It was interesting to stop by but I won’t be back again.

Convenient place to recycle batteries and other small electronics. Free for Recology customers.

This business is beyond horrid. Would be no problem if it was simply a business, but it isn't. It's a monopoly. I cannot chose my garbage service, I must use Recology. I need a replacement compost bin after mine was swallowed by the truck. My numerous calls to customer service only go to a third party answering service that can do nothing for me other than 'pass on my request'. I've not received a call back in over a year where I'm dealing with billing issues, missing garbage cans, you name it. They literally do not pick up and do not call back. Same goes for any email requests. I receive a receipt notice that my issue will be addressed within 24-48 hours. But, nothing. There is literally no way to get in touch with anyone at that business. Atrocious business practices.

What is going on with Recology Services? Cannot talk to anyone at their company and we are having missed pickups. Ugh. And they have no problem charging us still. What the hec is going on. ?

Popular and eco friendly, but you already knew that. Friendly and helpful manager.

I really like shopping here, but I don't like the inconsistency of the way staff ring up items. I buy the Northern Lights laundry soap on a regular basis at the Issaquah location. Every time I either get under or over charged. I always get one fill of the small bag. Sometimes I get charged 2.75$ sometimes I get charged 8.50$. It's annoying because I love the soap, but I'm on a budget. I really wish that they would train the staff to weigh it correctly so I pay the same price every time.

Store full of objects that can help you be more eco friendly. Reusable bags, beeswax wraps, bamboo utensils, etc. This is a great store to shop for gifts as well!

Awesome little store that takes just about everything for recycling! Super convenient and very friendly staff. I've taken batteries, light bulbs, styrofoam, all sorts of electronics, and even paint here! They've also got a ton of water bottles and other eco-friendly products to purchase.

This is a cool store where everything is designed in an effort to help save the planet by using recycled materials. Only complaint is the indifferent sales person who was to busy with whatever she was doing to assist us. She never asked us if we needed help or had questions just ignored us until we asked her about a price we couldn't find.

Love the whole concept! Glad I can bring things to recycle and keep things out of the landfills, oceans & oceanlife.

I get the coolest items from here. Sometimes I come for myself and end up with gifts for others! My favorites are the Liberty water bottles, multicolored glass straws in different sizes or the decomposition notebooks - which are printed with soy ink and made from recycled materials.... literally everything is made with high quality repurposed materials and most often locally sourced. Whether it be school supplies, toys, kitchen items including composting bins/liners, bulk home cleaning supplies, essential oils, hair/skin products, reusable bags and drinkware, they have everything you could possibly need! I love this store and frequent it often!
