These jerks took my card number over the phone to get a part for my car, THEN told me that the part wouldn't be in until the next day. I found the part elsewhere and called them to tell them to cancel the transaction. They told me that I had to COME IN to the store to cancel. They took my card OVER THE PHONE, but couldn't cancel the same way. I will never do business with Advance again.

I went into into advance Auto in search of the holy Grail of weed eating string. The first person behind the counter checked into it and came up empty, as expected. As I sit in my car doing some more research. Another gentleman came out And reincquired about what I was looking for. I told him and he suggested harbor freight. I did and I found it there. The gentleman's name was Michael Smith. I was very impressed that he went the extra steps to come outside and catch me before I left to steer me in the right direction. And I got my weed eating string. Thank you, Michael Smith.

Accidentally bought high beams for my Corolla instead of a low beam. Spent 40 bucks on two high beams which sure I can definitely use. no worries there I can keep them and use them at a later date. However, I needed a low beam. My mistake. Usually, I buy them off Amazon because places like advanced auto parts are three times as expensive, but it was a kind of an urgent . So, I decided to check out my local advanced auto parts. Came in everyone was pretty cordial. The guy at the desk was like Yep nope this will definitely fit it. I even showed him and told him what I needed. I showed him what I have bought on Amazon at no point did he ask me if it is for low beam or high beam. Also at no point did he explain the return policy. Oh, do we have cameras in the store that record because if he did, I would love to play back that video At check out, he didn’t explain the return policy, which by the way is usually on your receipt. So when I got home to change it out and realized I bought the high beam instead of the low beam, I came back to ask for an exchange and it also at that pointy I was self deprecating and said I messed up and I apologize. Do you think that the guy or the girl with the shaved red hair were gracious about it, nope!!! Quite the opposite! They wanted to keep rubbing it in and after their attitude, even though I was prepared to go by the low beam even though I can use the high beams another day. She was like oh well we don’t take anything back that’s been opened.HUH? I was literally just in there 30 minutes before. What do they think I did with it? I know not to touch the bulb when you’re replacing it because it screws up the bulb itself. Well what kind of policy is that like what? I was like oh, where is your policy cause I don’t see it on the receipt. She pointed to a big yellow sign at the front of the lobby which I swear to God was 12 paragraphs long, all in five point This part was funny, even with all of her attitude, and even after I apologized, and when the guy jumped in to like rub it in a little bit, Moore, she was like so do you want me to go get the right one for you. And I was like no you know what I’ve got other options. I don’t have to deal with your attitude. Listen here, my dears , I (and many other customers ) have a number of other auto places I can go to within a half mile radius ..never mind I can go on Amazon. Also not sure if you’ve been following the news but advanced auto parts has been closing hundreds (700 to be exact ) of branches. If they’re closing them in big cities like they are in Dallas, Texas, I’m sure small towns like front Royal, are also on the chopping block You might think that would be more of an Incentive to treat customers nicer to get /retain more business . But, I guess that’s not the case ….so thanks very much !…came in to try to apologize and buy the right thing, you guys couldn’t let it go and had a big attitude so OK I understand the customer isn’t always right but the customer is always the customer. I hope you can stay open with the three or four cars that I saw out front on a busy Saturday.i UPDATE: In response to the owners boiler plate, “we are sorry “message below: Why would I call you after a bad experience ?? I own businesses of my own. I actually don’t have upset clients but if I did, I would call them on the phone and see how I could resolve the issue. I wouldn’t ask them to call me. That’s funny. OK you know what now I’m seeing why this auto parts chain is in such trouble. You have “”know it all staff. Excuse me you’re not running Tesla, you’re serving me a headlight; you have antiquated outdated return policies, which by the way aren’t even on your receipt and then after being talked to how I was and paying 40% more for a product you want me to call you to discuss it further? Are you for real? Well, don’t be sorry at all because I’m sure in six months to a year that location will likely close as a of the result of other closures in the chain. Hopefully, this is a learning lesson for your staff although I doubt it will be.

Guys in here usually find what I need within 2 minutes of looking. Help me find and ordered me tire chains they didn’t have in stock the day of. In and out in 5 minutes and always helpful.

We stopped here to grab a wiper blade. They have very good customer service. They offered to put it on for us themselves. When we discovered the blade holder was busted, they helped us by writing down the specs of what we needed so we could order online and have it shipped to their location. Thanks so much for the help!

The guys who were working were all so very helpful! They couldn't change my battery for me, because of the placement in my vehicle. The portable charger didn't have enough oomph to get me started, so one of the very nice guys working charged me with his personal vehicle. That's above and beyond helpful!!! I bought my battery there, then took to the dealership to have it changed. Came back for the core refund. Thanks again!

My experience wasn't bad until the guy at the counter decided to share his political leanings as I was finishing up my purchase. I found this to be unprofessional and unpleasant and won't likely do business there again.The guy needs some coaching up.Very amateurish really.

You should know ahead of time what you need since the staff is not great at helping you find things for whatever project you're working on. Other than that, it's clean and organized here, and plenty of room to park and work on your vehicle if need be.

No option for zero stars ???? Service was absolutely terrible ... had to look the part up on advanceautoparts.com on my phone while standing at the counter cause the computer “didnt list it” after give the part number to the employee he said it would be ready for pick up at 11:00am next day ... go to pick up they can’t find it ... part was left at Winchester hub store so they told me to come back at 3:00pm that evening ... go back no part winchester never delivered it ... so I myself had to go to winchester to pick up the part ...what poor customer service !!!!!!!!!!

I went in to get some things for my vehicle. Dropped money on the floor.l left the store. One of the store's employee's came out ask if I dropped anything? Thank God there are still Good people in this World. Money much needed to pay a bill. Great Customer Service. I can't afford to now , I would buy lunch for a awesome staff. Forever Grateful !!! I needed a new battery installed..bought it Advanced Auto. Was advised to have these guys install it due to the computer boatd above it. I walked in..Mary was lovely and the mechanic drove it into the bay ...i was out of there in 10 minutes!!! $20.00. thank you Economy!

This is more directed at one staff member than it is the store in general, unless this is store policy. I had called about a specific part and inquired about the prices and was given the lowest price for the part i needed, it was a little under $20. I go to the store and ask the rep for the cheapest part, and he pulled up the list. He deliberately hid the cheaper parts and only showed the most expensive ones on the computer screen and only gave me those to choose from. ($40 and up) I explained to him that i had just called and was quoted a much lower price, and then he scrolled down one click and there they were. When he brought the brakes up he brought a tiny pack of lubricant and never said a single word about it, just giving it to me. When i got home i checked my receipt and realized he had charged me for the pack of lubricant i never asked for and he never mentioned anything about it. this sales rep was trying to take as much of my money as possible, and i truly hope the company does not teach them to do this. Watch out for the older white guy at the desk, and make sure to check online or call ahead.

The employees here go above and beyond! I just had an issue with my car where they easily took an extra 30 minutes to help out, and at the end it was still completely optional if I bought the part I ended up needing (which I did buy). Employee's name was Mark, and he was knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. This is not the only time over the years I have had a good experience here, just wish I had thought to post earlier.

Engine on my Yukon started a little slow. Went into Advanced auto for a check on the battery. They replaced the Advanced Auto battery free. Great service. Highly recommend.

10/31/14 Good auto parts store. They seem to have everything I need in stock for normal repairs. (brakes, tune up, water pump, radiator, starter, etc). The staff is nice and they test certain things for free (I used them to test my starter) and have good loaner tools (electric clutch fan spanner kit.). The staff is a little better/friendlier than the AutoZone, and the Napa in town.
