I bought a dining set from Great Northern Liquidation a few weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier! From the friendly and knowledgeable customer service to the helpful tip on how to make my table look like new again, everything about the experience was wonderful. The delivery was smooth and professional. This was actually my second purchase from them, and both times have been fantastic. I’m so grateful to have a store like this in our small town - I’ll definitely be shopping there again!

This is so much more than a used furniture store. There are used chain saws, major appliances, restored antique audio gear, used toys, books, sporting goods, tools, and every sort of junk you can imagine. You can be sure of finding something remarkable with every visit. The last time I was there I walked out with a mechanical kitchen timer and a used picture puzzle. If I lived in Springfield I would be there once a week just for the fun of it.
Great spot to find quality secondhand home goods and tools. They are constantly bringing in new items each week, so it pays to keep an eye on their FB page. I’ve gotten great furniture in like-new condition and even a complete home brewer’s kit!
I purchased a gorgeous Yamaha pacifica from here and everybody was very friendly. Really good deals all around and just about anything you could think of.
Most of my home is furnished with beautiful furniture from Great Northern Liquidation! Lisa is always fair and has taken back any appliance I bought that had a problem. Which was one. Love this place!!
I have been a longtime fan of GNL before their new building in the plaza but things have only gotten better at their new place. The prices are always good; not just for furniture but collectibles, clothing and dishware too! Their owner and employees are very kind and the set up is very organized so you'll easily find what you may be looking for. I especially love their selection of yarn, knitting and sewing supplies.
My favorite place to dig thru the crates for vinyl! Alot of my collection has come from here and there is new selections almost weekly. Fair priced and a rotating sale on different stuff each month. Check it out if you haven't!
Keep in mind this is not a thrift store. Yes,most items are second hand but the majority are in great condition and priced accordingly.(Sometimes will negotiate )The selection is ever changing so if you're looking for a particular item give them a couple weeks and look again. I've been a long time customer & Lisa (and family) have furnished a lot of my home many times. Lisa is the bomb! Take your time & look around, always something to find.
The perfect store of eclectic treasures. I've known Lisa since her Park St "yard sale" days to the big red building on Clinton St days and now to Young's Great Northern. Have always had a great experience. Prices are fair and as Lisa always says," The more you buy, the better deal you get".
I definitely recommend here and looking around, every time I go in I find something that’s a great deal. They post frequently on their Facebook about items they get in and most of their prices seem really fair. I’ve never gone in there and seen something broken or dirty, their presentation is really nice for selling used furniture. The new location is a huge upgrade, I think there’s really something for everyone. One negative would be that some of their more collectible items (dishes, vintage toys, decor pieces) can be kind of pricey but they do sales each week of certain color tags, so I’d look out for those! Also the make a deal area is great to pick through if you like to rummage around for things. Overall a great resource and they have really reasonably priced delivery if you’re in the area.
I had a great experience here. We lost a ton of furniture during the July '23 flood. I was able to get a ton of furniture for a fraction of the cost of retail. Great items, great staff, great prices!
I have been shopping with GNL since I moved to this area from out of state. Which means — I’ve needed a LOT of furniture and household items. I’ve also opened a retail space since living here and GNL has been a lifesaver with their bargains and convenience! I love joking around with them and that they are so friendly and help me loud large items into my truck with me.
We are so lucky to have such a great second hand source in the area! AND they are friendly!!

They always have great items that are well priced. The owners and staff are pleasant and helpful. They also were kind when I was looking for a recliner for an elder in my town. Helped with that situation greatly.
It's a cool store to just walk in and browse around. There are some real bargains there and I have made several purchases since moving to Springfield at the end of 23. I try to go in every week or two because you never know what you might find that you didn't even know you needed. And the staff are helpful and friendly.
THIS IS NOT A "THRIFT STORE! (full review below the caveat)
These folks do not rely on donated items, they purchase everything they resell. They have to view it, drive to pick it up, unload it at their warehouse, evaluate it, clean it, sometimes repair it or recondition it, ensure it is in proper working order, pay to get rid of any items that are not up to their standards, research it to find a fair price, then haul it to the storefront for display and marketing. Do not expect a "Goodwill-style" of store here.
The range of items available in this unique store changes on a daily, sometimes hourly basis! From thrifty bargains to designer clothing, from tag sale treasures to high-end collectibles...everything is exhaustively researched and fairly priced, whether it be a kitchen-counter knick-knack or a top-shelf exotic antique. I have found record albums and garden boots for myself, movie posters and books for my husband, shelving units, Halloween decor, and floor lamps. Rick and Lisa treat this business as a fixture of the community, serving up a breathtaking array of treasures for every taste and space. Fun to browse and great to search for that specific 'need', GNL is a huge asset to the town and to every visitor. Accommodating and welcoming, happy to assist in every way.
Everytime I walk in to GNL I find something new and exciting to add to my collection, whether its plates, brass, glassware, decorative pillows, artwork, collectable toys, old books; they have it all! ALL of the staff are wonderful and so helpful! What a gem in the middle of Springfield VT!
If you’re looking for treasure this is the place to go! I drive 45 minutes several times a month to this gem of a place and always find something new and exciting. The staff has always greeted me with a smile on their faces and I feel good about buying gently used products and furniture instead of buying new (the quality far exceeds what you buy off places like Amazon too)!
As a lifetime “thrifter/bargain shopper” this store offers it all! You could furnish your whole house at a fraction of the cost of buying new and you will find one-of-a-kind treasures you won’t find anywhere else! I never leave empty handed! The store is laid out beautifully and very easy to shop! Staff is super helpful and friendly. They always play the best music and there’s so many new items each time I visit! The clothing area is my favorite! Lots of nice brand names at low cost! Overall, it is a great experience and would highly recommend everyone to come check it out! :)
I always find a treasure every time. I thoroughly enjoy searching through all the unique items. I love the new store; so bright, spacious and so much more to sift through! Not many places around where there's a collection of items to pick from.
They tend to know what they have and price things appropriately, you won't find screaming deals on most items but the value is still good. Furniture tends towards higher end lots of quality items and interesting brick a brack. Love the vintage speaker section in the back.
Enough turnover that it's worth a weekly trip!
