Stewart picked up our car after an accident and was the most efficient and compassionate. He was an excellent representative for this company. He spent time to clean up around the car and help check for personal items in areas that we couldn't safely access. In the future based on his performance, we'd use them again if in need!
Towed my vehicle on behalf of the City of Burlington for an alleged parking infraction. Zero communication from the towing company in regards to my vehicle being towed an it's whereabouts. After locating my vehicle, I paid the $100 release fee and was told my vehicle was in the tow yard where I could collect it. My vehicle had minor cosmetic damage to the front, was covered in dirt and was haphazardly left between two derelict vehicles. In addition, it was blocked in by a flatbed truck which prevented me from leaving. Customer service was incredibly poor and showed little to no care for my vehicle whatsoever. I would never willingly work with this towing company.
I'm sure other peoples' experiences are valid, but Tony was an absolute angel to me. I had a tire blow out on a busy road, late at night, after a long day at work. He got it safely to my home, gave me advice on local repair shops (I'm new to the area), and even helped me find tires that would fit within my budget. People this kind are hard to find these days, especially in this industry, so I hope this man gets a raise, in the meantime, he at least gets my praise. (rhyme not intended)
My vehicle was towed here not by request but because a driver was passing by when my accident occurred. I went to the tow yard a couple days after to retrieve my shoes and other items out my vehicle only to discover it was all missing. Mind you that the vehicle was locked, they gave me my key to unlock it and my stuff was gone. No one seems to know what happened to my stuff by again they had my keys. I know it was someone from the inside that did it but I wouldn’t dare recommend this place or either get all of your belongings out of your vehicle before they tow it. Then he advise me to call the police well sir I think you should call the police because it’s your business and the way his face looked he knew it was somebody on the inside that took it. Was assigned through AAA! My tech was amazing - I'm so sorry blanking on his name. He had a new truck and came sooner than the time estimated(great timing, had a toddler in the car-she was picked up by grandma right before tow arrival).
Really saved my butt and cool to talk to. Even helped me with getting my car into covered apartment parking lot until I can see an auto shop. 10/10 Will call again for when I need to go to the auto shop :) Thank you again, Happy Memorial weekend and enjoy your bike ride in this nice weather!
Car was towed by a former coworker pretending to be management. Tried taking to this company explaining it and got hung up on multiple times called to see what I owed since trying to explain the wrongful tow was going nowhere. Told them when I'd be there to either get my stuff or my car and they scrapped it before I got there avoid this place at all costs.
They were called to help with a dead battery and even though they are 3 minutes away it took 2.5 hours in -10 degree weather. And when he did show, the guy was disappointing. AAA should not use them.
Called this evening to have a car towed from my paid parking spot and they arrived quickly. Special thanks to the driver who had to deal with the car in the bitter cold, and still got it out of our super cramped parking lot. Will definitely use them when this situation inevitably happens again.
I called for a walk in tire plug. I was told to come in between 2:30pm and end of day. I said I would try. I had to pick up my kids from school. To reiterate, I asked, "Okay, so that's 2:30pm up until end of day correct?" The answer was yes. I got my kids, dropped them home and got the Spillanes as quick as possible. When I got there I was told I was too late. He said no one was there that could help me. Meanwhile 8 guys were in the office, playing pocket pool. He then said that the times were anytime before 12-1pm because that was lunch, and then 3:30- 4pm was too late. He never mentioned that on the phone. I know this review wont accomplish much because Spillanes is Spillanes, but try harder next time maybe.
The technician was prompt kind and helpful. It was a very pleasant experience and saved me from figuring out a tow to get a battery. The technician was also very informative in a genuine kind way.
About a year ago, I went to get my car checked out because it died on the side of the road. Due to this it was towed to here. I called to check on it. They told me to pick it up and drive it home and then immediately sell it. After paying I picked it up and 15 minutes down the road, flames were coming from under neath it. I pulled over right at the Colchester border and it blew up into flames. My friend and I were lucky enough to escape before the car blew up into flames! Luckily police and firefighters were on the scene before the situation got worse. Would never recommend this body shop to anyone!
Needed my RV tire changed. Clearly told the owner It was an Airstream camper and he quoted me $125 to remove my old rim with tire and put on the spare. When they showed up he changed the price from $125 to $175. Had the tech reach out to his boss and his boss said take it or leave it. I changed the tire since I was on the side of the road with my wife and kids, but it was not very honest and just felt bad. I don't normally write reviews, but if you have a choice, choose another company. Hope the $50 rip off was worth this review.
Avoid this clown filled service center at all costs. They have terrible service and no accountability. My motorcycle was towed from an accident by Spillanes. While incurring impound fees it was stolen out of their lot and Spillanes didn’t even bother to check. (They were charging me a storage fee while it wasn’t even stored at their lot). I was only able to locate the bike bc of an AirTag I put on it. Spillanes was reluctant to file a police report which was very shady…..
Had some car issues at a shop they towed it to and they were great to help and willing, never had an issue and I use Triple AAA. Drivers are very kind people and were very gentle with my car.
Appallingly bad service. Towed my car for no reason (although that wasn’t their fault, it was BPE’s) - however, they first told me they didn’t have it. I had to call the police, who checked their system and informed me that yes, Spillane’s did have it. I called immediately to tell them that the I could prove I had paid for parking with my registered car, so it should not have been towed, and needed it for work the next day. They apologized and told me they would call me within the hour and get me my car back that evening. I called FOUR MORE times over the course of four hours (last call at 10:30 PM) to follow up, and they continued to tell me they had no information of the whereabouts of my vehicle they towed, and would be sure to give me a call that night. I woke up at 7:00 the next day, had to call them AGAIN, and was informed…..they had no idea where my car was, but would call me within the hour when they figured it out. I told them I had run out of patience and also time, as I had to be at work in the next half hour. They called me back within three minutes to tell me….surprise! It was actually on their lot all along. And then they charged me $30 for keeping it overnight (I wish I was joking.) Horrific.
Provided the most unbelievably awful service I have ever received from any company. AAA sent them out to replace my battery. 3 service calls and 6 hours later, they finally replaced it after saying they wouldn’t do it when I made the initial call. One month later and my car is in the repair shop now with a technician telling me that my issue is my battery being installed incorrectly. Wasted hundreds of dollars and a lot of my time. This is the last place I would ever recommend anybody go.
WOW!!!! GREAT EXPERIENCE RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING! I have never ever had to call a tow truck! Thankfully, a very professional, kind Burlington Police Officer helped me out ,and made the call for me! Kevin rescued me! He brought my car to the garage, Spillanes, and the diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly! Kevin also...GAVE ME A RIDE RO WORK!!!! Great way to start my MONDAY! POSITIVE!!!!!
They picked up my car I was selling through Peddle. It was the day after a monstrous snow storm, the wind was whipping and it was super cold, regardless the driver was very friendly and efficient. The driver forgot my check, but they overnighted it to me via FedEx. No complaints here!
My boyfriend and I had a great experience working with Spillanes! Bobby was wonderful and helped to test my car battery, change it and install a new battery. Went over the warranty, answered all the questions we had and it was very timely from start to finish. Great customer service and would highly recommend
Great experience this morning using Spillane with AAA! Very quick to respond and very fast spare tire change. Plus the guy who helped was very kind despite the freezing weather, and even added air to my spare to make sure I was in good shape!
Used them for AAA they pick up car last night, call me this am saying they can’t locate my car, then after I contacted AAA complaining my mechanic is still waiting for vehicle, they told me the tow company would call me about it, 2 hours have gone by and still no call and no idea what’s going on with my car! On top of this back in February when they brought same car to my mechanic they ripped my front bumper off and driver was gonna leave it that way! Thank god my mechanic sent me the video of it
They picked up a car for someone who bought it and they damaged my driveway. The driver had the flatbed extended and went to adjust his angle of the truck. With the bed down, the bumper was on my driveway. When the truck didn't move right away, he just punched it and pulled a chunk of asphalt off my driveway. He said "Sorry. Nothing I can do now." The manager of the company says it wasn't their fault and won't return my calls. I would avoid them at all costs.
I'd like to say thank you to Spillane's! My truck broke down over the weekend and they've gone above and beyond to help me out. The service center was closed for the weekend and first thing Monday morning they fixed my truck and got it back to me the same day. I didn't have a ride to pick up my vehicle so they sent a tow truck to my house and brought me to the shop at 9pm. This is a great example of going above and beyond your duties! We have wonderful people here in VT! Support your local business! Thanks for making a tough situation as easy as possible.
They were quick to the same to pick up my car once I was in an accident. They were extremely professional at the lot and even reminded me to grab my tag before my car was totaled out! Very helpful through the whole unfortunate event.
I've now used Spillaine's towing and winching service a few times and these guys are great! Kevin showed up on time and went right to work. my camper trailer was stuck in the mud about 300 feet from the road ...the entire distance to my camper was deep clay mud and Kevin trudged through the mud and got my camper out efficiently. there was no wasting time, no additional charges, and excellent polite service. I feel Kevin did a great job, he was respectful professional and no messing around ...straight to the job until it was finished. We've all heard negative things about towing services.... Both my experiences have been excellent and professional I'm grateful...they saved my butt today. Thanks Kevin
One of these guys was behind me entering a one-way parking lot. I stopped (max 30 seconds) to let another vehicle exit a parking space that we intended on taking and the tow driver repeatedly laid on his horn. He started yelling at us to move and claimed he had a "call" to get to. He even yelled at some other shoppers and tried to get them to yell at us. We parked, did our shopping, and went to leave. Found the driver parked just around the corner of the shopping plaza in the back. He was just chit chatting and having lunch with another driver (see pictures). No "call" in sight. You don't want this guy handling your vehicle.

I received a AAA service call from technician #952 today and the care to both vehicle and driver were shockingly exceptional. The tech offered immediate diagnostic information on site and presented multiple options. Once I decided, the tech did some initial prep of the vehicle on site to ensure that it woild be immediately ready for repair and my mechanic of choice, rather than arriving unready for service, ensured battery charged and parts not further damaged but protected. Beyond that, the tech took the time to make a personal connection and ensure that I had full understanding at each decision point. Simply exceptional work from a sincere person. Thanks so much for helping my emergency.
We were in Burlington to pick up our RV. Just outside of town, the alternator goes out. We called for a tow and they arrived within 30 minutes. They had to tow our van and our RV separately, but only charged us for the van tow. The tow truck drivers were professional and very helpful. They couldn't get to the van until the next day, but allowed us to "camp out" in front of their building, we used their bathroom and they even let us recharge our portable battery in their building. The communication in house must be amazing, because everyone we encountered seemed to know who we were, no one gave us the third degree as to why we were there. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and professional. The technician that worked on our van stayed a little late to make sure the job was done and asked if we needed help hitching up the tow. The cost was high, but competitive. Very friendly and professional. We are grateful that we found them and 100% would recommend them to anyone!
