If I could give zero stars it would still be too many. This place is not worth the effort. The fees make no sense, the lack of coordination and customer service is appalling and the hours of operation meaningless. I have never seen a landfill operation run like this. Do not go here…wait for your trash pickup or rent a dumpster…this is a complete waste of time and money.

I love Dayton landfill prices and their system how they got the new scale,,, they will get you right in and get you out

Dog water dump, one of the most expensive, and they give you fees for even breathing.

Drove all over in back roads there are no signs when you pull in on where to dump. I wish I never moved to Denton county from Collin county all services are so much worse.

If you value your time, avoid this place at all costs. This landfill is a government-run disaster—slow, inefficient, and completely unaccountable to the people it serves. It regularly takes 90 minutes up to THREE hours just to get in and out, thanks to an outdated, single-lane weigh station and painfully slow processing. Today it took over 2 hours to get in/out. TWO HOURS!! And then there’s the $120 penalty fee if you’re not out by 4:00 p.m.—even if you arrive as early as 2:30. That’s right: you can show up a full hours more before closing and still get hit with the fine, not because you were late, but because their system is so poorly managed you can’t physically exit in time. To make it worse, prepayment is rarely allowed, so you’re stuck waiting in a backup of vehicles on both entry and exit. It’s a setup—a trap designed to fail the very customers they’re supposed to serve. This is what you get with government-run operations: no competition and no accountability. If this were a private business, it would’ve been out of business years ago. But since it’s run by the City of Denton, there’s no alternative—just a dump of wasting everyone’s time. Do better, Denton

Be ready to wait in a long line to enter and leave. If you're a resident of Denton, Denton doesn't care about you. You pay the same every contractor does. They really need a resident only line.

This place used to be amazing. Large field right by the gate. Easy dumping. Then they hired a guy named Brian Boerner and he absolutely ruined this place. Endless projects that aren't needed. Complete government abuse. Toxic work environment. If you email him with concerns, he laughs at you. Also, he fired all the old good workers and replaced them with rude/lazy, but obedient workers.

Extremely long waiting times to dump for the people with trailers, they give to much priority to the other lane with no trailers, we also got things to do and places to be. we dont dump here for free! we should at least be able to do something else other then dumping one time and wasting all day here. Or maybe ask for advice in how to push trash faster out the way to the other landfills around ,faster operators , something needs to be done, its not even busy , operators are just to slow

Called before coming and couldn’t get ahold of anyone. Website closes at 4pm, arrived at 345pm and was told there would be a $120 late dumping fee. Asked to speak with a manager since closing time is 4pm. Said policy was changed a week ago. There is no where for me to know this before arrival.

Got there an hour before closing, with only 4 trucks ahead of me. By the time I got through, there was only 20 minutes for me to dump the trailer and get out before the $120 late fee... oh then they move the dump site to the other side of the property so everyone has to drive further than earlier in the day... oh and then when you get to the dump site they only let one truck go at a time so there is a 6 truck line at the actual dump site too. It's a trap. One of the best examples of bureaucratic inefficiency and local government failures. I would love to see their KPIs and performance metrics.

There system needs updated ASAP. The longest lines I’ve ever waited in everytime you come. There’s no way around it. They have ONE system for EVERYONE. Just sad because they have so much space to make this run better, not to mention millions of tax dollars for nothing. Plan on paying $25+ each time regardless of what you have will never be cheaper. Being a small business owner I don’t have time to wait in lines for 1+ hours. Absolutely insane and highly frustrating & would not come here if there was a different place to dump.

They have no signage directing you where to go. Multiple scales and you’re supposed to guess what lane is what. Staff then acts like you are at fault for their lack of signage. Inefficient with equipment, and it was empty.

There is no customer service on the phone. It just redirects to you to the city of denton, corrupt, don't come here. An absolute refusal of phone service. I just wanted to know if I could dump there with my Virginia truck plates until I get my new texas tags, which I'm required to wait 30 days for. Go figure my rental house is full of the previous person's animal haired up furniture that I had already replaced. Useless.

I recently visited Denton Dump Trash, and I must say it was a truly disappointing experience. The prices were exorbitant, making it feel like I was actually paying to dispose of my trash rather than just getting rid of it. The staff were incredibly unhelpful and seemed disinterested in assisting customers. To top it off, the wait times were absolutely ridiculous; I spent more time waiting in line than I did actually unloading my trash. Overall, Denton Dump Trash is a complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to dispose of their trash efficiently and affordably.

Good landfill, except when it rains. It turns into a cluster that is to be seen in person. No preparing for inclement weather. They throw bark down off and on but never enough. Besides that, it’s always quick. I can get in and dump, and back to work.

Unfortunately it takes a long time to get in and a much longer time to get out and pay. They are slow and they won’t take cash. The unloading area is extremely muddy that if you don’t have a 4X4 for sure you’ll get stuck in there. There are men in big heavy machinery that work there and expect you to drive through all the muddy uneven area and drive all the way to the top even if your tires slide and your 2WD car won’t make it. Very inconsiderate employees. Also if you don’t have a dump truck, you’re expected to empty the debris by hand since they have no where to tie your trash to help pull out. This place was so much better last few years and slowly becoming more pain in the b to get service here. They need to understand that they’re not doing a favor, they’re doing a service that we pay for.

I contacted the landfill the day before, and the young lady on the phone was so helpful. I showed up the next day, and the young lady at the entry was equally as helpful as it was my first time there. Great experience! 👍

This is crazy $741 for a trailer full of shingles how can that be possible This places its just out of his mind my roofing people don't come here you going to expen your profit just in a dump

Literally the slowest place on the planet. They could easily get non commercial vehicles in and out quickly. They just choose not. Last trip waited in line behind 4 vehicles...and it took 45 minutes. All while there are numerous spot available. They just refuse to be quick or efficient.

Telephone support is non-existent and I don't know how you're supposed to figure out if this dump is open before you leave your house? 3 times I've driven all the way across town, because there's group on answer the phone, only to find out that they're closed. Another dismissive business that could care less about their customers

This is now a racketeering operation. Show up over an hour before closing, and they are intentionally taking 10+ minutes per non commercial vehicle. If you can’t leave by 4:00 pm you have to pay an additional $120.00 on a $25 load. They have everything set in place to make sure you don’t get in and out in a reasonable timeframe. This is why people dump in creeks and roadside. Way to go environmentalist Denton!

Always changing dump areas on site. Always charging a different fee and rate each time I drop my panels, which are consistent weight and amount each drop off. If it rains you can get stuck. Rough, steep roads tear up your vehicles. Long wait times in the morning and afternoons. Don't come after 3, you may not get in or be subjected to a $125 fine for not being out on time, even if its their fault.

Horrible experience! Charged me $25 for unsecured load fee. My items were heavy enough to sit in the back of my truck without blowing out. I wasn’t carry debri that would blow out. Then charged me a minimum fee of $25 instead of actually charging the weight of what I dropped off. Really encourages me to just dump stuff on the side of the road in the future. Poor customer service! Just trying to make money off the common homeowner trying to do the right thing by taking stuff to the dump Instead of dropping junk off on the side of the road! I won’t be back! I’ll take my chances with a dumping ticket I guess!

It’s always fun at the dump! They do a great job of making sure the dump is well organized and as long as you don’t come during a peak time ir usually allows for you to get in and out within 30 minutes. They also do an excellent job of making sure when it rains you can still dump materials in the side yard.

Nate and Yenes (I think thats her name) are always there to help with a smile. As a roofing company I frequent many different landfills and this is by far the best. The distance from the front to the dump is a few hundred yards unlike some when you have to drive for a mile. The gentleman who tells you where to park is equally as nice. I have never had a bad experience at this landfill. You will see water all over the streets because they clean and wash the streets regularly. This means you don’t have to worry about getting a nail in your tires! The fees here are also cheaper, it seems, than other places. All in all, this is the best, easiest, nicest place to bring your trash.
