This shop went above and beyond for me and my family, and I’m so incredibly grateful. I went in for a ‘check engine’ light check (this is FREE, BTW) and turns out I needed a new starter and O2 sensor. The owner Robert went out of his way to make these services affordable. I wouldn’t have been able to get them done had he not done that. The repairs were quick and my car was ready exactly when they said it would be ready. Thank you to Robert, Tiffany and everyone at AAMCO for their hospitality and services. I’ll be back for every oil change and needed repair.
We called an advanced and showed up about five minutes later, and they immediately took us in and walked us through the process of getting our car fixed.
They were super sweet and explained every single part of the process. They also did everything almost right away, and we had our car back by the end of the day.

I thought I had a battery bone, but it turned out. I had a starter problem the replacement starter in a short period of time. I did great work. I’ve used them before for other services on both my car in my truck.
AMCOO has been a lifesaver for me! They fixed the timing chain on my engine after a previous mechanic had worked on it, and had my car back to me in less than 48 hours. Shortly after, I needed a radiator replaced (my own poor driving), and once again the team stepped up.
I was consulted by Dan (mechanic), Johnny (Manager) , and Leo (the owner), who were all knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly kind throughout the process. Every time I visit, the staff makes me feel like family, which is rare to find in a repair shop.

Went to this place today to get my car diagnosed and safe to say I won’t be going back. My engine light started blinking and jerking when accelerating (first 2 shifts) so took it in, got a call later on regarding diagnostic fee, and final call was about what was wrong. I was told my brake pads were bad and my knock sensor needed to be changed. I explained that my brakes were changed 2 weeks ago. Ultimately I decided to not get service done there so I said I would just come in and pay the diagnostic fee. Got a response of “okay…” then immediately hung up on. What great customer service, right?
If you want people’s money, maybe don’t have an attitude next time.
Had my truck towed here after not being able to shift out of park. They got my truck fixed quickly and found a repair kit to make the repair cheaper than the initial quote. Appreciate the communication and the warranty that comes with the repair.
Going on 6 weeks for an engine swap. Very minimal communication about what's going on. Will tell you it will be done on a certain day, then it's not. Won't tell you if/when they need to order parts. Charged $458 for basic oil and filter. Won't give you updates unless you call them.
Think twice about using this business. I had an issue on the highway and needed a repair right away. AMMCO seemed liked the right place for a repair. AMMCO sorta diagnosis the problem was transmission cooler line came disconnected. They reattached the lines and said everything was fine with the transmission. Turns out everything was not fine. The transmission was leaking. My normal mechanic pointed out the leak a day later. I was told by AMMCO they did a thorough inspection. If the inspection took place they would have caught the leak along with several other things that needed attention. I would give 0 stars but that is not an option.
Update aamco corporate tried getting a hold of me. We played the phone chase game. No resolution.
Terrible business. They charged my step-dad (a disabled retiree) $4400 to replace a clutch that cost around $500. They also quoted him a price of $275 for towing from Canyon Lake to their shop in New Braunfels but added an additional $75 to the bill afterward. When they were confronted about overcharging him on all fronts, they dropped the towing bill. Dishonest business with terrible pricing. They will take advantage of anyone coming through their shop.
Huge shoutout to AAMCO! The transmission in my truck wound up having to be rebuilt and the guys at AAMCO did an amazing job. Special shoutout to John who was so communicative and patient with me. My truck is my livelihood as I am a contractor so the time and effort these guys put in was much appreciated. 10/10 recommend!
Very Professional , I had to have my van towed to them and they got right on it , diagnosed the problem and had it ready by the next day. we didn't get it to them until about 130 pm and it needed a fuel pump and module. It was ready by 2 the next day. Very helpful Courtois and respectful .I defiantly recommend these folks. Thanks to John and all the crew. I know it was a hard repair. P.S. the Bill ,didn't break the bank either.
Edit to add: They are not credited by the BBB AND The reason they say not our customer is because it was under my husbands name. They would not honor our warranty because they would not admit fault and would only look further into issue if we paid 200 dollar diagnostic in top of the 900 dollar repair on the alternator. Accountability was the issue in the first place so not surprised they still aren’t willing to take it I’m more then sure they remember the exact situation they put us in unless they do this to people often. I have proof of everything and AAMCO corporate will be hearing about this.
Terrible service, lost our keys, didn’t finish timeline that was given. Parts marked up 300%. Anytime we tried to ask a question relating to price and why the new alternator wasn’t working instead of being kind and educating us they were rude and condescending. Take it literally anywhere else in new braunfels
Editing to add we offered to take alternator back to them for the price they would not. They said they “doubt” it’s the alternator even after second opinion. Was not willing to go back to them as they left tools nuts and wires disconnected the second mechanic was unsure how he was able to drive off the lot. This the “new” alternator they put. No serial number, spray painted rusted piece of junk.

I couldn’t be happier with John, Robert and the team the at Aamco New Braunfels! My AC was blowing warm air, and they quickly diagnosed the issue as a problem with the compressor and condenser. Amazingly, they replaced both within 24 hours, and now it's blowing the coldest air we've had in a long time! The speed and quality of their work were top-notch, and I’m extremely satisfied. Highly recommend them for fast, reliable service!
My truck broke down on a Friday afternoon. I was only scheduled to be in town for a few days so I was in a bind. Most shops are closed on the weekends and I knew I didn’t have much time. I called AAMCO and spoke to John and told him my issue and concerns with it being Friday and the shop closed for the weekend. By the time I had my truck towed to his shop he had the parts delivered and fixed my truck in a couple of hours. If anyone has ever had their vehicle worked on, you know it can takes hours or days. AAMCO got me back on the road in a few hours! I highly recommend this location!
Owner Robert and staff are always professional, and they always contact you before working on your vehicle. I've been going to them since 2019 and will never go anywhere else for major vehicle maintenance.
Never again. Went to get a transmission rebuilt, they never told us the price until it was "ready", was gonna pick it up, but car was vibrating...car ran good before taking it here. It just needed a transmission rebuilt. Had them "fix" the problem went to pick it up AGAIN, this time a knocking noise and now the car reverses on park. The car didn't have any of these problems before bringing it here. Won't be back again since all they did was create more problems SMH after spending thousands on it!!
First off, I want to thank Robert and Joe for going above and beyond for my family and me. If you are having transmission issues, don't hesitate to get it to these guys, and they will take care of you. I made the mistake of putting it off, so by the time it got to the shop, there was a lot that needed to be done. Robert honored a warranty that was 3000 miles past the expiration, which was honestly a godsend in my family's time of need. Thank you all again at AAMCO in New Braunfels
Absolute NIGHTMARE!! Avoid at all costs. Charged $$hundreds of dollars for "diagnostic time" and they completely failed at the diagnosis. Charged me $1000 to replace some electrical components that had ZERO to do with the transmission problem. (Battery was replaced earlier this year which produced a string of service codes in the cars computer.). When they finally realized the electronic repair was unnecessary - they quoted $14,000 to service the transmission. Ford dealer quoted $7500, Garland quoted $7000.
Picked up car from Aamco only to learn they had left my lights on all night long and drained my battery. They insisted on being paid for the $1000 of unnecessary electronic work. After leaving Aamco, I discovered that they had removed the front skid plate and left it laying in the back of the car. .....the transmission is in the back. They never should have needed to remove this (and obviously should have reattached it). They were angry and rude about me taking the car to another shop for the same repair (for 1/2 their bid!!). Based on my experience - Do not ever go here.
My truck needed work on the differential, I had checked around and wasn’t comfortable with the the answers I was hearing and still left with questions.
I am very happy with the answers, the effort and follow through with taking care of the differential & several other issues my truck had, (I was aware of already). They kept us informed and were straight up and honest with the work done and with the price. No surprises. We now have a place that we are confident in, to take care of our vehicles and our trust. AAMCO of New Braunfels.

Transmission failed in my car. 5 stars for now based on outstanding customer service, and I mean outstanding. All questions were answered plainly with very little grey area. Work hasn't been performed yet and will update accordingly. So far so good!

AC went out two weeks back, they got me in this morning, fixed and back in road in 100 degree Texas heat.

They are absolutely AMAZING! They are HONEST and took care of us. Our transmission was acting up and we originally took our truck to Franks automotive which was a HUGE mistake! AAMCO fixed our truck BETTER than NEW for less than HALF of what Franks quoted us. And we where in the process of moving and AAMCO went above and beyond working all weekend just for us. They diagnose your vehicle for free. You will not be disappointed.
My repairs were done in May and am just now getting to post this. I Had a good experience, was a little higher than first anticipated but I had a Japanese transmission so go figure, I was kept up to date with repairs and was treated well. Everything was explained to what and why my factory transmission failed. From estimate approval to completion was about a week and a half which was not bad at all considering the extent of a labor intensive repair. My Xterra runs great and has a little more power in the drive train so I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend AAMCO to family and friends.
After my car was stolen, recovered and towed to my friends driveway, it sat there sad and immobilized for a couple of months as my friend "fixed" it for me. Eventually, we realized that he was over his head and I called AAMCO.
The next day (Friday) Scotty came with a flat bed truck and took my little blue car away. The following Monday my car was ready for the road! AAMCO, New Braunfels service was quick and affordable. I never felt pressured or like I was being over or up charged. The mechanic, Scotty was professional, knowledgeable, efficient, funny and well my car's hero.
It says "Transmissions" on the AAMCO sign but there's a good reason that it also says, "TOTAL CAR CARE".
I took my mom's Nissan Rogue in because she hadn't been driving it for 8 months due to issues it was having. The car had been purchased from a non-certified mechanic in Oklahoma. Unknown to us was that the car had major damage under the hood we couldn't see. AAMCO was the 2nd opinion we got and it was similar to the 1st so we knew nobody pulling our leg. With the help from the team at this location we were able to finally fix my car and the topping on the cake was that the repair costs were able to be financed interest-free for 12 months with the Synchrony Credit Card they accept. I know these guys put a lot of work into my mom's car and I couldn't be more thrilled that I have a safe car I can give back to her. I feel 100% confident in the work that was done and can rest assured that I got a decent quote on everything. Thank you Scott and the entire management team for your help!
I am very glad that I went with AAMCO for my automotive needs. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. My car is running great and even better than its been since I first bought the car. Scotty was a huge help and very knowledgeable. The best part is that my car was in and out of there in just a few hours. I will be returning to AAMCO again. Id highly recommend.
Took our car there 2 weeks ago for noticing hard shifting. After being told there was burnt transmission fluid noticed. They said would need to take apart see which parts would need to be replaced. We agreed to have work done on car after being assured it would only take a week.
Well should of known better when the first call to ensure they only needed to replace parts not whole transmission came 3days later with me calling to check in. No return calls from them at all.
I also had to keep calling every 2 days to get a status on when the car was going to be ready. 2 weeks later from their 1 week promise I had to make another call to be told still not ready but should be first thing tomorrow.
The lack of them getting back to you and unable to follow through on promised time really is disappointing.
Unsure how well workmanship is till get car back.
To their credit the person at front desk Steve was friendly and polite. That’s reason for extra star earned.

Update- after being promised and told would get a call first thing in am today (01/24/19) saying car is done still nothing. I do drive by everyday on my way to work to see it’s been parked same spot outside for last 4days now too. A call to corporate and the BBB is coming.
New update 01/27/19- got car back at 22:30 on a Saturday night (01/26/19). Car had dirt/grease on steering wheel and arm rests. Can also tell who works on it smokes, they off gassed or just smoked in car. Having to air it out. Got it home that night no problem (about 1.5 mile drive) this morning turned car on let run about 10min. Turned off. Put on accessories with key to reset stereo code (about 2-3min) went to turn car on, now won’t start. Also leaking fluid now, looks like coolant.

Okay, so we talked to the owner and manager. Both are super respectful and have greatly apologized for the hassle. They got our car in ASAP today. Worked on it to ensure cleaned and no longer leaking. Sounds like they are improving the shop and ensuring good work gets done.
Car shifts smooth, no leaks, cleaned inside.
Per management- they have spoke to the employees to ensure all techs will not smoke near cars, and will clean up and prep cars before getting in.
I thank you for your corrective actions.
I met Anthony today and so very lucky that I did! He was very professional and guided me through the diagnostic process of my vehicle. I was very impressed by his honesty and customer service. My check engine light came on a few days ago and I took my '97 Accord in Wednesday morning to be looked at. I left the car with them and got a call a few hours later saying they'd need to do some more diagnostics to identify the problem. Anthony called me that evening to say they'd identified a few problems and would like to keep the car overnight so they could be sure of what was causing the light to come on and give me a call the next morning.
I got a call the next day and Anthony explained that my Crankshaft position sensor was not working correctly. He asked for my permission to go forward with replacing it and I gave them the go-ahead. Several hours later he called and said they'd found some more problems while replacing the sensor and asked if I could come look at the car. I went over and Anthony explained to me what was going on and that my water pump was damaged and showed where it was leaking and creating problems. I asked him to put together an estimate to have the water pump and timing belt done, he gave me a very fair price and even worked with my limited budget.
I am extremely thankful for Anthony and his team at AAMCO in New Braunfels. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent and friendly. I rely on my car to drive to school and work and they helped get me back on the road without breaking the bank. I recommend them to everyone!
I had lost all power to my car. Robert over at AAMCO in New Braunfels, TX took my call. He took care of everything for me. He arranged for a tow truck to pick my car up at home and added it to my bill to pay at the shop instead. My alternator and battery were shot. He took pictures of the test to show me the amps it wasn't giving off. Then he made sure my car was fixed before he went home for the night. This place is great. Wonderful customer service. I highly recommend them and will go back to them next time.
