I've been bringing my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Uncle Dave's Auto Repair for various issues over the past few years, and they have consistently demonstrated integrity and genuine care for their customers. Uncle Dave's has handled everything from my AC system replacement to spark plugs and ignition coil installation. Every single interaction has been marked by transparency, fair pricing, and honest communication. They've never tried to upsell me on services I didn't need or take advantage of my situation. Most recently, I had them install new spark plugs and ignition coils based on a check engine light diagnostic from O'Reilly's. When that didn't resolve my vehicle's issues, Uncle Dave's could have easily kept throwing parts at the problem and charging me for each attempt. Instead, they took the time to investigate further and were completely honest with me - they determined the underlying issue was beyond their scope of expertise. Rather than leave me stranded, they recommended a shop better equipped to handle my specific problem and then towed my vehicle there at no charge. That level of customer service is virtually unheard of today. Uncle Dave's Auto Repair operates with old-school integrity in a world where that's increasingly rare. They care more about doing right by their customers than maximizing profit, and that's why I've trusted them with my vehicle time and time again. If you're looking for an honest, reliable, and customer-focused auto shop in the area, I cannot recommend Uncle Dave's highly enough. Their integrity speaks for itself.

Very frustrated with communication. They kept my vehicle for over a week to diagnose A check engine light and To find the problem for intermittent power loss. They did not communicate with us at all unless we call them to find out status. When we finally got the vehicle back, they had replaced a sensor and changed spark plugs And called and told us it was ready to be picked up. When my husband asked about the power loss issue, he was told that they could not do anything about that unless the vehicle lost power while they had it there at their garage. So just a very few days after we picked it up it started once again going black and losing power, It happened several more times and would either come back on its own, or we would have to open the hood and press on the battery cables, and then The power would come back on. So I took the vehicle in this morning and explained to them that that kept happening and that I was actually stranded somewhere at some point because I didn’t know that I could push on the cables and power would come back on And that I really needed to have it looked into and fixed. So they had a mechanic come and he spent about two minutes looking at the battery cable and said oh yeah it looks like that cable is itself really has a lot of corrosion on it and probably does need to be replaced. So then, after calling a dealership to get apart and a lot of issues with actually getting the part there the mechanic replaced the cables, and the problem was fixed. When I actually got to uncle Dave’s this morning and stopped my car I had not lost power that time so the problem was not going on. So when my husband picked the car up the first time and was told that they couldn’t do anything about it, unless the problem was going on, That is just totally not true. Had they spent just a very small two minutes they could have found that problem and had it fixed during the seven day time that they had it previously and I would not have spent my entire morning there Once again.

I've sent my old 90s Hondas to Uncle Dave's for the past 4+ years. It's been a wild time but they always try to do right in the end. An easy recommend if you've got a Honda

Dave’s Auto was incredibly quick to help us when our car started running poorly after some recent warranty work elsewhere. They took the time to diagnose the issue thoroughly, explained several cost-effective options, and had our vehicle running better than ever within the week. Throughout the process, they were professional, transparent, and easy to work with. We were out of towners coming from Cincinnati, OH to Houston, TX when our A/C went out in Memphis. We pulled over to an AutoZone to possibly get a diagnosis and directions to where we could get some help. We were referred to Uncle Dave's on their reputation. We went in, told him our situation, and he and his team were able to diagnose our issue within a half hour. His staff was able to troubleshoot the issues, which thank goodness ended up being something minor, and they had us on the road within an hour's time. Dave and his team were a literal Godsend to us! They made us feel extremely welcome, they even let us have cold waters for us and our dog! Dave was very personable, professional, knowledgeable, and above all, he was honest and he and his team did exceptional work. He made us feel like he genuinely cared, and with over 45 years of experience in the mechanical field, we felt like we were in great hands. There are a lot of shops who would be more than happy to take advantage of folks from out of town, and when we relayed our story to others, all have said the same. Dave couldn't have been further from that stereotype, and we were beyond grateful for it. Dave, thank you from Josiah, Michelle, and little Wednesday for getting us back on the road!

Brought my 2016 equinox here for a check engine light that was coming on. They fixed what they could and gave me recommendations on things that needed to be checked sooner rather than later by another more in depth shop. They could have just taken my money and sent me on my way, but didn't. I appreciated the professionalism of each person I came in contact with here.

I have been having trouble with my car for some time. Yesterday, I took my car to Uncle Dave’s Auto Repair and I am so glad I did. Uncle Dave’s mechanics thoroughly checked out my care and took care of the immediate needs to ensure my grandchildren & I are riding in a safe and reliable car. The work was done efficiently, quickly and the cost was very reasonable. The staff was friendly, respectful and sensitive to my situation. Uncle Dave’s also carries a line of quality used cars that come with a warranty. My grandchild is working hard saving to buy a car. We will most definitely be looking at this inventory. Thank you so much to Uncle Dave's auto repair! The customer service was impeccable. Office is a safey and homey environment. Friendly and safe staff to be around. Even cleaned out the vehicle before purchased. Office staff, welcomeed us in, he walked us through the buying a process and fixed engine lights that present later on after leaving driving off the lot. Fast, friendly, and professional! I took my Nissan in for a coolant flush and they did an awesome job. They also checked my transmission to ensure it was running properly. On top of that, they fixed my car’s bumper that had been broken for years! Totally unprompted!! I will definitely be using Uncle Dave’s for all my car repair needs!

I went to claim my son's car that was in a wreck. My insurance company was sending a tow truck. The police had the car towed anyway by Uncle Dave. I was told it would be $300 cash only, once I arrived to claim the vehicle . I called first. I was not informed it would be cash only and there are no signs in the business that state cash only. Why? I simply asked why I couldn't use a debit card? Dave came out of the back and went ballistic on me. He cursed and told me to get out of his business. He then had the secretary call the Bartlet Police on me. I stood my ground with him and told him he better not put his hands on me.

DANGEROUS & EXPENSIVE !! Allowed us to leave with lug nuts off tire. A few weeks before allowed my mother to leave with oil undone and we was headed out of town the next day. I called ahead of time and gave a long list to the secretary the next day the owner Dave called and acted like it was my fault. Charged me out of the roof for brakes now I’m questioning if they was even bad ( $800 for back $800 for front $800 for a $55 part ) so $2700 for 3 simple things. They forgot to do the oil change and acted mad at me when they forgot. We picked up the truck and they the tire almost flew off and caused a wreck. They did come get it however we was out of the truck another day. I asked for the owner to call me and to this day has not.

Had them install my battery in my 2013 Ford Escape. I supplied the battery, they had it done within 45 minutes. If you're in the Memphis Bartlett area and you need Auto Repair I recommend Uncle Dave's Auto.

Called to get a price on tire mounting, and the price on the phone was different from the price when I got there. I don't mind paying for quality service, but they also damaged three of my lug nuts.

I had to repost this because the owner Dave refuse to work on my car after having it a whole month because he was in his feelings because I told the truth on a review. His words were I’m not working on it because of your review. So I took it down because I wasn’t about to throw $650 down the drain. But since the conversation was recorded that’s all I needed. You can keep that money sir because apparently you need it more than me. So everyone reading this here’s the original review. I had someone recommend this place. Bad mistake.I paid for the repairs that their diagnostics said. I pick my vehicle up on a Friday afternoon and had similar problems hours later. They’re not opened on Saturdays.So I bring our car back the following Monday for them to fix the issue,only to have my vehicle 4 days shy of a whole month.The only thing they kept telling us was it’s kinda tricky it’s gonna take some time. A whole month? And insult to injury,when I finally get my car back I can’t open the passenger door all the way without it denting the right fender. This was last Friday morning around 11 am. The gentleman told us to bring it back Monday. Keep in mind one of the mechanics told me over the phone it’s some kind of mechanism in the door they’re looking at.My wife and I took the car this morning and the flamboyant male receptionist and one of the mechanics didn’t say two words to us. No good morning or anything. The colorful male receptionist even got Zesty like a woman with my wife and stated ‘we didn’t do that we can run the cameras back’. So I had to intervene because it was offensive and totally disrespectful to any customer. And coming from a French manicured male receptionist who doesn’t touch anything when it comes to customers cars. He was totally out of line. So the owner Dave came and fixed the problem in 11 minutes. Make it make sense. I guess my appearance and tattoos had them thinking I was a threat. That’s not the case at all. I’m a Pilar to my community, on the panel with City Council trying to bring opportunities to youth of our city. A successful social media platform and podcast participant.So I say that to say this, you never know who knows who. Dave was nice but hey a person will say anything if they’re under the assumption I’m a angry Black male and let’s get him out of here.It doesn’t matter if ppl take heed to this or not. I just know I’ll never go there again.

Dave's a good guy... passionate about his business and I appreciate that greatly. Just remember people that right now you have to be patient because mechanics are overwhelmed with repairs because people are holding on to their cars for longer with the economy the way it is...so they are backed up. Dave and his team will get it done and for a reasonable price. I'll always return to this place

I requested and paid for a tire rotation and balance. They rotated the tires, but only balanced two of the tires. After picking up the vehicle , one tire still had the old tire weights on it and still had an obvious vibration. I took the vehicle back to them so they could correct this mistake and balance the other tires, but instead they doubled down on being wrong by telling me that the tire that still had old weights on it balanced perfectly and tried to upsell me a set of tires instead. I then took my vehicle to Gateway Tire and had them take a look at the tire with the old weights on it, and it turned out that it was not in fact balanced perfectly. Gateway Tire did balance the tire and got rid of the vibration. I let the guys at Uncle Dave's know this and they promised to call me, but to no surprise, that didn't happen. They were given two opportunities to complete the work that was paid for and failed to do so. My vehicle was also there for another repair at the same time. Since they were incompetent with a simple tire balance, I have no confidence in anything they did. Do not use this shop!

Exceptional service! I had a problem with my car and took it in for repairs. The initial repair did not fix the issue, however Dave(the owner) contacted me directly over my concerns and made sure to get the issue resolved. Dave really takes customer service to another level and makes sure his customers are completely satisfied with their service. His integrity and attention to customer service is top-notch. I will definitely be going to uncle Dave’s for all my car services. Dave - thank you for all your help!

My first experience with Uncle Dave's was very positive. I described the problem I was having with my SUV, they listened and agreed with what I thought was the problem. At no time did I feel I was being upsold to require expensive diagnostic work. Job was completed as scheduled. Thank you to Eddy for great customer service. For regular service and any automobile equipment failures I will be taking my vehicles to them.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. I've been using Uncle Dave's for almost 20 years (on 6 different vehicles) and I have NEVER been disappointed or dissatisfied. They have been fair and honest and always offered good advice and great service at a reasonable cost for the high quality of the work they perform. If you're looking for a mechanic and tired of being taken advantage of, give these guys a try. You'll not regret it.

I had my truck towed into Uncle Dave’s. The tow truck man was sooo kind.. Once we got to Uncle Dave’s on Summer HWY 70.. I felt like everything would be fine. It was my first time to go there. They worked on my truck until they were sure it was fixed and safe for me to drive. Their price was also very fair. Plus as they were working on my truck they would call and let us know what all they had done ✅. I highly recommended them to anyone.. Thank You Uncle Dave’s for helping me..

This was my first time working with Uncle Dave's Auto Repair and the service was outstanding. I needed to have my car towed from my house to a shop nearby and every step of this process was smooth and seamless. The tow truck driver (Doc) did an amazing job. He took the time to put ramps at the edge of the flatbed to make sure the front of my car didn't rub as it was being raised/lowered from the truck. I highly recommend these guys to anyone in need of towing and/or auto repair.

The service was beyond poor. The tech (Marcus Lewis) who was dispatched to "assist" my daughter was extremely rude. He made very derogatory remarks and his tone was highly inappropriate. He sat in his car looking at his phone for what about 10 minutes before even bothering to help. I am filing a complaint with AAA and will be reaching out to local media concerning this company. When I tried to reach out to them regarding the issue the receptionist hung up. If this is the best service that can be offered...no thanks! Do not waste your time!
