My husband and I've been coming to Anderson automotive for 8 years now, Ned and his staff are really amazing. Ned has pretty much fixed everything on our 2002 Honda Civic.
No matter how busy he was he would always buy the time to fit in because he knew we were third shift, to me that's going above and beyond in which separates this company from all other mechanic shops around here.
We sold our 2002 Honda Civic but that's okay Ned we got 2018 Subaru if there's something wrong with it I know where to bring it.

The tow truck driver who came after our wreck was the kindest man. He made what was a bad situation so much more doable, going out of his way even to drive us back to our house. Upon storing our car at the lot we realized something valuable was left in the car and they retrieved it and kept it in a safe space until we could pick it up. Highly recommend this company!
Anderson Auto helped me greatly with super quick service!! My car had died and I'm in Knoxville for college, so I was nervous that I would have a dishonest repair company but Anderson was amazing!! I highly recommend this business for towing and auto repairs. They towed and fixed my daughters 2011 Toyota Avalon, were very helpful and professional with her as a freshman at UTK, and communicated with me on getting the alternator replaced. Now 2 years later they checked out a problem she was having. Both times they were very honest and timely in completing their work!
We’ve had to use a towing service a time or two over the years and although the majority of the times have been totally fine there have been some issues. My point is that I’ve never felt compelled to post a review. I’m always thankful for the help of course but today when I reported through Life360 that I needed my car towed from Callahan/Clinton Hwy they gave me a general timeframe that was about an hour to an hour and a half out. I was totally fine with that because the last time we needed a car towed we waited almost 4 hours. Barely 5 minutes after I got off the phone with Life360 I got a call from Jason through Anderson Auto & Towing telling me that he’d arrive in roughly 15 minutes. He was super nice and professional but in a personable way and I appreciate that so much because I can be “socially awkward” But if someone talks to me like person to person instead of service to customer I am much more comfortable. He got to us in 10 minutes and half an hour or so later our car was where it needed to go.
So all in all this was 100% the best tow experience we’ve ever had and I highly recommend them.
Ned is the best!! I am a college student and don't know much about cars, I drive an older car w a lot of miles on it that's had a few issues and he is always able ti fix it. He is also kid enough to always contact my father and explain the issues to him better than I ever could. I had an issue today and am headed out for a long drive tomorrow and he made sure my car was ready before they closed up for the weekend. I highly highly recommend this place, especially students!
Although, I did not have my van repaired at Anderson Auto in Knoxville, I had the distinct pleasure of talking with the owner Friday evening (3/7). On my way from Ohio to Savannah, Ga, just getting on I-640 from I-75 south, my engine light came on flashing and everything thumping. I exited the hwy and rolled into a local hardware store. AAA had recommended that I call Anderson Auto. It was late Friday afternoon and the owner told me he would be closing at 5pm and not reopening until Monday, and he couldn't be sure he could do anything until then. With that information, it was suggested to me that I find a dealership near by that would be open later, and on Saturdays. In my haste, I didn't get back to let the owner know that I wouldn't be having my van towed to his business. Later, before 5pm, he called checking on me to see if I was ok and had I found a place to service the van. We recently had a GREAT experience at Anderson Automotive. My son had issues with his truck and they were able to diagnose and repair within 48 hours. He’s a student and we’re out of town…my Mom intuition was very positive after speaking with them. Very honest and reasonable. We recommend 100%.
Had an issue with my vehicle today and once I made the call to Anderson knew it was the choice. The lady I have spoken with over the phone was quick to action and very nice. Jason was the tow truck driver that helped me get my vehicle where it needed to be. Very professional and very nice. If I could give 10 stars I could!
My son was in an accident and the highway patrol offered to call a wrecker for him. Don't ever do this! Always call your own tow truck. Anderson Automotive responded and towed the vehicle to their lot 10 miles away. First off, everyone at Anderson Automotive was very polite. When we went to pick it up they charged us $375 for the tow bill. When I asked them how much they would charge to tow it back to our house (which is 2 miles from where the accident was) they said $100. I asked them why I was having to pay $375 when the normal charge was $100 they told me "that's just the price we have negotiated with THP". I told them that THP wasn't paying the bill, I was and no one negotiated that price with me. They laughed at me. My son is a U.S. Marine and showed his Marine Corps. credential and I asked them if they at least had a military discount and they laughed at me again. Anderson Automotive will take advantage of you and does not respect the military men and women who sacrifice for our country.
Brand new vehicle damaged during a non-consent tow parked away from tow-away signs, still the tow truck driver demanded $106 immediately to drop the vehicle. The tow truck had no visible license plate, only a DOT number 3146303 and the tow truck driver had no proof of insurance to show proof of financial responsibility for what they just did. No ticket/warning was received either from Knoxville PD, just telling their tow truck driver to pull cars out left and right and hold for ransom. There are fatal accidents happening on I-40 but it looks like towing cars is a bigger priority for the city.
Update: went onsite on 12/12 to show Anderson Automotive the damage. Met with the owner and he reviewed the damage at their shop but refused to reimburse or pay. Later quoted $300 on the phone for damage THEY did. He didn't even dispute it.

The owner of this place is an amazing woman named April! Her staff were great too! I had gotten a flat tire downtown Knoxville and I was freaking out, I had my son with me and really not much money at all. April came to where I was and aired up my tire so we could make it to her shop, we had to stop halfway to air it up again and she did everything with such a friendly attitude. Once we got to her shop a couple of guys came out right away and had my tire off in seconds. They said the hole was too big to plug and I could not afford a new tire so they sent me 30 seconds down the road to get a used tire and they made sure that place gave me a great deal on my used tire!!! They were fast and very friendly and helped me out so much today and would not take a dime from me. I definitely recommend them... Good, genuine people are so hard to find in this world. Thank you for making me wait two hours today, just to say you could not come up a driveway that literally & I mean this from the bottom of my heart, NO ONE else has had that issue. Another Tow company came (Even up the driveway without making a fuss) & resolved my issue within the hour. I'll not only never use you all again, but I'll make sure everyone I know stays away from you all. Congratulations, I don't leave negative reviews but you all earned this one!
Believe the good reviews because I’m glad I did! I was traveling from North Carolina to attend Fanboy Expo and my car started shaking really bad. I looked for a garage close by and this was the closest and had the best reviews. They were so nice, not busy and confirmed it was a bad tire. They didn’t have one for me but referred me to a used tire place down the street and I was all set! I would highly recommend this place!
I had to be towed due to an accident on I640. Sean was the driver who assisted me that day. He was very considerate and helpful and made it as easy as possible. I highly recommend calling Anderson for road assistance.
They definitely saved us. We were heading back home to texas and our car broke down on the interstate. Super scary! They asked us what was wrong with our car and we told them. When they came to pick us up and got to their shop they had the parts needed. They were extremely nice. ALL of them was. Very reasonable price. We were so thankful for them!

We have used their repair service several times. Very efficient and friendly people. Very reasonable price. Most recently our car wouldn’t start. After towing it to Anderson, they couldn’t find any problem with it. However upon our request they still kept it for about a week and checked it frequently to see whether the problem would manifest (we were suspecting a loose cable due to field mice). When in the end everything seemed to be in order, they didn’t even charge us for the service. The car is running great right now.
I'm a professional driver, putting in about 7k miles a month, so believe me, I know that you really only hear about the bad things. I wanted to give credit where credit is due: on my way home Sunday, March 24th at around 1pm, I spotted one of your drivers at the merger with I-40 from 640. The truck had "001" under the mudflap and was hauling a red Jeep, so hopefully that narrows it down. Anyway, this driver was hands down the best tow truck driver I've ever seen. Some of the ones out there can drive like absolute maniacs, but your driver didn't speed, used a turn signal, and even waited to merge until after he was clear of the solid white line, which is something I didn't even know people still knew to do. If I'm in need of a tow, I'm definitely calling you guys, as I would actually feel safe trusting my vehicle with you, or riding in the cab. Kudos to this driver :D
I cannot recommend Anderson Automotive enough.
While on 1000 mile trip to Knoxville I discovered that shielding under front bumper and engine had disconnected and was partially dragging on pavement. I showed up unannounced to Anderson as it was near my downtown hotel. A temporary fix on the spot at a surprisingly fair price allowed me to complete the trip and to get back home. Everyone there there was terrific and discussed what needed to be done so that I could call my mechanic at home to get parts ordered while I was traveling.
By far the best experience I have had with mechanics. They took care of issue with my Daughter's car while in school. Communication was perfect and they were very quick completing the work. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that needs a quality mechanic.
My wife and I were broken down about 20 miles from the shop. We drove very slowly to the location and received an assessment in a short amount of time.I believe the mechanic's name was Ned . We were traveling to see our grandsons in Florida and really hoped we were going to be treated honestly and we sure were.I was fixed up with an honest affordable rate and our vaca. was great thanks to the 5star service we got.

Hydroplaned off the I-40 and needed a tow, unfortunately I was in an awful spot that took a lot longer to get me out of than expected, but Jerry and his dispatcher Sean both worked with me reliably to get my car out. We finally got it out and I had originally thought I would have to have it towed to an impound lot but they were nice enough to tow it over to my work for me for my convenience. Both very nice and honest guys. Due to the awful location of my car they had to charge me more to get my car out which is understandable, but I will say it ended up being quite pricey. But honestly for the great service and general help they provided me I can’t say it wasn’t worth the money. Highly recommend their towing service.
I don't take my time to review a lot of places but Anderson Automotive's service was so quick/honest and good that it has me recommending them to anyone I know with a motor vehicle. I am super picky with who I take my car to and definitely don't trust it with just anyone but if I'm ever out around Knoxville I know who to take it to now.
My experience: Lexus SC300.
I called ahead and told the person on the phone about my situation and Ned told me they were busy but I can come and get in line since they don't do appointments, I dropped my car off Friday around 12pm (they were busy for the day) so they told me Ned would get working on it Monday since they are closed for the weekend. The price they had given me for a install on my lower control arms that I had bought was pretty good and beat a lot of other shops around. So before I drop my car off I tell the guy at the counter I want to add a alternator to the things to install since I already had it as well. (He told me they would call me to let me know how much more it would be and that I should know that it's my provided part so they can't ensure it will work therefore cannot replace it later on free of charge.) I go ahead and give him the key and take pictures of my car all around just in case then leave. Ned then called me that afternoon around 3-4pm to tell me how much more it would be to install the alternator and again, not a bad price at all. Super reasonable. Today (Monday) I called them around 1pm and the guy told me that my car had just got done so I went to go pick it up and as I was paying I saw that the price reflected on the labor part was actually a little bit lower than what agreed on, but that just brought a smile to my face and made my day a hell of a lot better, even if it wasn't a lot it still helps. So again, SUPER HONEST / QUICK / PROFESSIONAL AND REASONABLE MECHANICS!!! They also did not try to sell me up on something I didn't need or come up with something crazy like other shops try to do either. Definitely bring your car to AA&T for those little repairs!!
Great, fast and reliable vehicle repair. But, what sets Anderson Auto apart from others is their HONEST, trustworthy and friendly staff. I have been impressed my their work on 3 different vehicles. I will continue to depend on them for all my towing and repair needs.
If anyone is looking for a reputable auto repair shop in Knoxville, I highly recommend Anderson Automotive on Cooper Street. My daughter's Jeep started acting up last night. Tomorrow she is scheduled to drive 9 hours from Knoxville to home. Anderson Automotive was quick to get her car in this morning (knowing she would need to drive home tomorrow). They quickly diagnosed and fixed her issue and communicated with my husband the entire time. They were fast, honest and very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Ned fixed our problem in a single afternoon. I don’t think we would have been driving for a week or two if we had gone to any other mechanic.
We were on a road trip and our Chevy Trax stopped making it up hills. Ned found the issue, and worked some magic to find the one replacement part in all of Knoxville because it’s on national backorder. The part was used but in near perfect condition so it was way more affordable than we expected.
