It was such a pleasant experience thanks to the staff! You drive up on scale give me your ID go dump your scrap and get paid..super nice staff all around they helped me unload, and the clerk was phenomenal! she was really polite, she explained the whole process to me with patience and it really helped me out a lot. I would definitely recommend going to this place to do your scrapping
Went here for the first time in December 2025. Unloading can be done by either parking a long the red fence and bringing your items to the front office or by backing your vehicle up directly in front of the office building.
The staff was very helpful and worked very quickly to get my metal items weighed and rung up at the counter. One of the staff even helped me carry one of my items!
I was paid in cash (a few bucks) and I was in/out of there in less than 5 minutes.

We were on the county scales yesterday and truck weighed 6400LBS then Went to blount county iron & metal this morning unloaded and we got robbed for 400lbs of weight. Truck weighed 400lbs more in blount county iron and metal then they Offered 5$ for Cadillac converters with paperwork. They Labeled the metal as tin price not long steel like we brought to them. Do not go here. We even brought them 3 free mowers last week and dropped them off to be nice guys and they do this to us today. DO NOT GO HERE !!
Folks were helpful. I don't understand why I received a receipt and was instructed to come back in 5 days to then pick up the cash for the copper after I brought in today. If I'd been informed of the 5 day rule I'd taken my business elsewhere.
Just a completely negative experience all the way around. I read the reviews from other people about paying on the same day for copper and other stuff. That's the absolute truth. The guy right before me got paid in cash and drove away right after he dropped off his copper. They snatched up my copper and within 30 to 40 seconds it was gone and they wouldn't tell me the weight and wouldn't let me see the scale and when I asked for it back they said that it already been sorted. There's no way that it could have been sorted in 30 to 40 seconds. It's not even physically possible so they ended up just keeping whatever of mine they wanted to and gave me a few pieces back and told me $25 for a set of catalytic converters. And the craziest part of it is I was watching what the girl was texting and I saw it on her phone. Her attitude was terrible and I also heard the conversation between her and the other employees. They were doing nothing but bad mouthing me and other people. This was just crazy and unprofessional. And on top of that they were in complete violation of the state law that requires the 5-day waiting period before getting paid for the material because the guy right in front of me got paid immediately.
Road is to all for the traffic it generates. Constant traffic and people pulling in and out whether it's clear to do so or not. It's an everyday occurrence that it happens
I have gone to BC iron and metals for years but never again . My wife took 3 /55gall bags of crushed cans 2/ 55 gal uncrushed and 1 uncrushed 10 gal house bag. I know atleast 12/15 pounds of clean aluminum and 1 5000 btu ac compressor.
They didn't ask for ID wouldn't give a receipt and weighed hers and another customers scrap not together but alternated between types of scrap . Now I'm no expert by no means but I made a living for 2 years scraping everything metal and they only paid her 34 dollars and change. And also watched them pay same day copper . If they will take advantage of me and mine they will yours too.
Yall were very nice and helpful ,the guys at the copper side informed me about the amount of money I could have gotten if I woulda separated it out ,my only concern is the scale ,I weighed my scrap on 2 different scales and got a number and when I come to sell it ,it was a big difference, other then that ,everything was good
this place is a rip off they have under paid me twice they wait till they have your scrap and then they pay some bull shit price i would never go there agine
Went today for my first time and had a great experience. The guys were helpful with getting my metals separated and getting me the best deal and the girl at the front office was also nice and helpful and very funny. Very friendly environment. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!
Have been going there in some occasions not a regular, but never had a problem until today. He had backed up our box truck already the old guy had already cleared the spot pushed it with a machine all the way back ok the stuff that were already dropped of by other customers. Until there we are good, until when the old guy comes back and says with an attitude "WHY NOT PUT IT ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK", my husband replies "you can just push it with the machine". The old guy didn't like it I guess he then replies "I DONT HAVE TIME" still with an attitude then a guy with a yellow or green neon shirt comes and says what is the problem we start saying and I tell him look one thing is to come over and ask which the old guy didn't okay, another thing is to come over with an attitude I was like it's different someone that comes like that to another person of course ur reply is going to be backfired with an attitude too. If he would have proceeded us saying h"hey before u continue unloading the rest of your stuff can you please back up a bit more" that right there it's not with an attitude but I guess the old guy was having a bad day. We weren't the only ones there that the old guy had a problem that we saw we were like what's going on until we went thru it and I was like oh that's why the old guy is having a bad day the staff should look at that you're customers don't go with a bad attitude until someone gets them in a bad attitude. You should be reasonable and see who is the one in the wrong there because as when I was telling them he came over with an attitude he started saying to me there wWHAT DID I SAY WHAT DID I SAY and then saying my husband was cursing oh no so bad lien , the staff should look more at the old guy he was the one wrong because we take the material they use to make money correct and they provide service not like how the lady say he has the right to deny your service but it's backwards, my point is that if he was with an attitude you should not have that person encounter your customers you're going to loose some customers , if we were in the wrong we own it we are not going to be around the bushes saying something else you know most people do that you don't own up your mistakes
Been doing business with them for some time now and I'm never disappointed. I am in and out quickly and the guys there are always willing to give hand if they can. They pay out pretty decent and are my go to scrap yard.
I come here on a daily. They are very polite and helpful. I would give more than 5 stars but it wont let me. Thank you for all the help. I recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been doing business with these folks since the day they opened on east broadway,our shop is close by there and made it super convenient,all the employees I’ve dealt with have always been helpful,just recently started taking scrap to the new location because hadn’t needed to,that being said always fair and if they make a mistake they’ll fix it,good people glad they’re in our area makes it a lot more convenient than driving to Knoxville,and as for masons in Conroe,that’s a whole different story,if your licensed to sell scrap it’s a waste of time and money to go there,I’ll stick with the honest folks ,thanks for making Maryville your home
I see a lot of people ripping these guys on here. Well scrap is a hard business. 50% of your clientele are hard working people trying to make an honest living, and the rest are various addicts looking for quick easy money. So consider the source before taking some of this advice. Bottom line is I bring all my stuff from here, and pick up metal for my welding projects etc. I know everyone there by name and have great service. My father even was shorted one time and the owner called him to tell him he was accidentally a
Shorted and offered to drive the money to him so a FAR SHOT from dishonest. Truth is noone is going to be happy all the time and in this modern lazy society, and the rash outbreak of Karen's it makes it hard for honest people to simply do business. Mark is great, Monty, Jess, the whole gang. I have no qualms and recommend them. Family owned , family operated, and would consider them friends of mine.
Blount County Iron & Metal is a friendly,well-maintained facility that you can bring your recyclable materials to & get a little bit extra cash anytime of the year. The staff here is helpful and very efficient. My husband & I are happy with the management & easy to get along with everyone who works for this company. Terrible place. I’ve started taking my scrap to Mason’s Recycling in Vonore. It worth the drive and they are always paying more than this place. plus no one has ever helped me unload and the woman in the office always has an attitude and everyone that’s there just stands around and watches you unload they don’t care. It’s a terrible place to take your scrap metal. I hope someone buys them out.
Went today with truck load of cans. We were warned to watch weight from one if the employees, n when we questioned how the were measuring the weight the I assume new owners got mouthy, started throwing the bags back in the truck, threatened my fiance, saying hed really like to punch him. Got very belligerent. Then proceeded to follow us dout the road when we left! Take ur stuff elsewhere!

First I’d like to say everyone working there was great. However, they pay the same for household assorted metal as they do for electric motors. I brought in 360 lbs of motors and was paid 5 cents a pound. Made just enough to fix the nail I got in my tire driving through their crappy yard. Go somewhere else.
We were there 1:37 pm they closed with us sitting there would not take our buisness supposed to close at 2 pm. We have never been there before and will not be going back. We will also make sure to tell our friends and family.
$22 2 Washers 1 Dryer, 1 Freezer, that's okay with me. But it's like an obstacle course just to drive in and out and one of the guys hit my truck not much paint came off but if you got something worth driving I would drive 10minutes in any other direction and save you the Hassel. This is the worst one to go to. It's less than a football field with three football fields worth of stuff piled up on it and you don't get to see them weight your stuff.
