What clients say about Schroeder's Towing in Columbia (SC)

You'd think with all the money they make towing people's vehicles, that they'd be a little more personable when coming to pick them up.. Or even responding to consumers online. I mean after all, WE ARE THE REASON THE COMPANY IS EVEN ABLE TO OPERATE. News station had them up for predatory towing. Also, on the news was one of their drivers being **** at the gas station and .... let me just say, if you've ever encountered any of these people-- you understand immediately how it got that far. Don't get me wrong, no one deserves to lose their lives over nonsense, but the way these people treat you or speak to you? As I stated, you'll understand why it got that far. SN: check out some of the reviews here on google where people share their experience/encounters with this company. What happened to Susan, Mary, and Tammy? Is honestly just the tip of the iceberg. Response to Owner: Sure!! You took my car in July of 2023 and it was over $300.00 to get back just 4 hours later!!! Is that not predatory or WHAT, Mr. Owner Sir?

I would give a 0 if there was an option. I never write bad reviews for anyone but there is a first for everything. They towed my car from my apartment community in the middle of the night. I went out to go to work and thought it was stolen! Once I tracked down the vehicle, they told me it was towed for no parking permit sticker and that it would cost $270 to get my car out. I had to Uber to their location and upon arriving asked for the photo of the car. They printed out the photo which was a bit dark due to it being nighttime, but you could see the sticker in the photo. The manager came to the front to speak to me and said that it was dark and they wouldn't CHARGE ME THIS TIME, but I needed to make the sticker more visible! The sticker was in the car exactly where it was supposed to be per the community and towing rules. I was upset, late for work and missed two hours of pay plus paid for an Uber. The manager pulled out $15.00 from his wallet and said he was sure the Uber wasn't more than that and then said sarcastically that he was trying to be nice to not charge me. I said, "being nice for towing my car that had a parking sticker exactly where it was supposed to be that you didn't see because you are going around in the middle of the night towing, making me miss work and having to be inconvenienced to take an Uber!?" They literally towed for no reason and then blew it off like it was nothing and doing me a favor.

Had my 95 year old grandfather over for the night. He's handicapped and has poor mobility so I parked in the handicap spot. No I don't have a permit, and I own that, but my passenger was heavily handicapped. It was almost 10pm at my apartment complex and no one was gonna use it any that night. I wake up to go to work and my car is gone. I call around and find out Schroeder's towed it. I ask the guy what the impound fee is and was told $260. I said ok I will pick it up later in the day. Calls are recorded so tell me I'm wrong. After work I go to get my vehicle and am told the bill is now over $300 and that because I waited over 12 hours I had to pay storage fees. No one told me on the phone about that. Again, they recorded the phone call. Not to mention I was told that it was picked up at 2am...in the middle of a bad thunderstorm. How would I know that it was towed then, and when 12 hours would be? Regardless, they made me pay to get my vehicle, which is a Land Rover. They didn't lock my airbag suspension, and my vehicle is AWD, and now my vehicle pops when raising and lowering, and shakes. They also messed up my rims with their towing process, yet claim that they don't even touch the wheels...so I guess a rock did that? This place is crooked and sloppy. Like most have already, I'm expecting a pitiful deflection of guilt that they didn't do anything wrong to me or my vehicle.
