What clients say about Schroeder's Towing in Columbia (SC)

I had a very disappointing experience with Schroeder towing. The tow process caused significant damage to one of my SUV’s wheels. It appears the vehicle was mishandled or improperly secured during towing, leading to costly repairs that could have been avoided. When I reached out to the company about the issue, their response was dismissive, and they showed no accountability for the damage. As a customer, I expected professionalism and care with my vehicle, but instead, I was left with unexpected expenses and frustration. I would not recommend this company to others based on my experience.

This company has the worst people working at this location. If i could give them zero stars I would. I had my 2018 Durango towed from my apartment complex for an expired tag, not only did they take my car from my complex in Columbia to Elgin, they decided that their pictures were enough to charge me for a bogus tow even after multiple attempts to show him my tags were indeed not expired it took the arrival of two officers for him to even allow me to get my items that were needed to prove to him that my tags weren’t expired out of my car. My truck came from out of state and I had to pay taxes in that state and sc and was only given a paper decal and after 3 dmv visits and was told the same thing each place that I will get my sticker decal next year once I pay my taxes again but that didn’t matter to anyone but me. To mention they drew on my car. These people are very nasty and will never ever stay in business this way.

I would give a 0 if there was an option. I never write bad reviews for anyone but there is a first for everything. They towed my car from my apartment community in the middle of the night. I went out to go to work and thought it was stolen! Once I tracked down the vehicle, they told me it was towed for no parking permit sticker and that it would cost $270 to get my car out. I had to Uber to their location and upon arriving asked for the photo of the car. They printed out the photo which was a bit dark due to it being nighttime, but you could see the sticker in the photo. The manager came to the front to speak to me and said that it was dark and they wouldn't CHARGE ME THIS TIME, but I needed to make the sticker more visible! The sticker was in the car exactly where it was supposed to be per the community and towing rules. I was upset, late for work and missed two hours of pay plus paid for an Uber. The manager pulled out $15.00 from his wallet and said he was sure the Uber wasn't more than that and then said sarcastically that he was trying to be nice to not charge me. I said, "being nice for towing my car that had a parking sticker exactly where it was supposed to be that you didn't see because you are going around in the middle of the night towing, making me miss work and having to be inconvenienced to take an Uber!?" They literally towed for no reason and then blew it off like it was nothing and doing me a favor.
