Captain Rick gave us private lessons as we had limited experience. He was so informative
and professional. He taught us about the mechanics of the boat as well as handling the boat on the water and docking. His knowledge of boating and of lake Murray is amazing. There is so much to learn. We will be using him again for another tutorial very soon!

My wife and I are new to boating and we had Capt Rick and his son Capt Doug, from Tow Boat US, train us on docking our boat. They were excellent teachers and very patient. We will more than likely have them again for additional training.
My wife and I took On The Water (OTW) boating lessons with Captain Rick and Captain Doug. We never operated a boat before and wanted to get hands-on training. Captain Rick and Captain Doug were very knowledgeable and made the whole experience educational and fun. We would highly recommend anyone interested in boating to take the OTW training offered by Captain Rick. You will enjoy it.
This family-owned business helped my family and I in a time of need on a Sunday. They understood that our situation could have waited a few days but because we were leaving town that day it was urgent to salvage the boat. They communicated each step thoroughly, they were on time, and they were efficient! I highly suggest contacting this business when you find yourself in a time of need because they make it easy for you!
Our motor wouldn't start on our boat this past weekend so we called TowBoat US Lake Murray and they answered immediately. They were able to send me a link so they could see exactly where we were and they had someone to us within 15 minutes of our call. They quickly got everything situated to begin the tow back to our boat slip and had us back in our slip in no time. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful and we could not be more grateful for how responsive they were to helping us. Had an overheating issue at night on Lake Murray. Called the guys and they gave us an ETA that was spot on. Pulled us right into our dock perfectly. Get the service. Worth every penny!
Ran out of fuel, already dark. Used the app to request help and within 30 minutes Captain Mike and his first mate showed up, got us some gas, and off we go. They were fast, super friendly, and made sure all was well before departing. Many thanks for everything!!
They were absolutely amazing!!! We were stranded on the lake and called BoatUS.They reached out and told us when they would be there, then beat that time by 15 minutes. They were so nice and so professional. We were ill-equipped as our trailer didn’t have a winch and they called in reinforcements to make sure that our boat got back on the trailer without any hassle. They could not have been better. I would highly recommend them, as well as a BoatUS membership. This whole rescue didn’t cost me a dime, because of the membership. Absolutely some of the best money that I ever spent. When we broke down, we didn’t stress because we knew we had this service, but never imagined how easy they would make it. 5 stars doesn’t say enough about how amazing their service is, and they were so friendly.
I could not be more happy with Rick and his sons at Towboat US! They helped me and came to my rescue when I was in a pinch. I purchased my first houseboat and am still learning what all it entails to move a vessel and how to care for it. Not only did Rick come in to save the day on a minutes notice he also gave me some advice on how to secure my houseboat to the dock and told me what I needed to secure it long term. I appreciate their help and guidance. They know what they are doing! When I thanked them profusely they replied with, “it’s what we do!” Great service and attitude!
I called them after dark one evening when my boat wouldn't start. They came out quickly and made all of us feel so comfortable and well taken care of! I purchased the membership because it is such a great deal for the services and peace of mind! It's owned by a great local family! I highly recommend.
These guys were wonderful last night! We ran out of gas just shy of Lake Murray Marina and they arrived quickly and got us back in with no issue. Super friendly!!
We were stuck about a mile and a half from the marina with wind blowing out. Guys came within 20 minutes. Filled us with 10 gallons and followed us back to marina to make sure we made it. Great service! Professional, and kind. Would recommend them to anyone.
