Loved this state park! We hiked the paths and enjoyed the beach. The fishing pier is also fun. We even saw a hawk! Watch out for the sand spurs which will get into the soles of your shoes. You can spend an hour here or a day. It’s up to you!

Myrtle Beach State Park is an awesome park! (If you known how to get the right site!) Beautiful beach and clean park!

Love the pier . Pets are allowed after Labor Day. Pets not allowed in the fishing pier all year . Clean and pleasant with picnic benches and playground for children.

Great campground ..Come to everything .Amazing to be on middle of the concrete jungle ..The only downside is planes coming into the airport.

Don’t come here unless you want to be harassed by self important wannabe mall cops after you’ve already paid your $8 entry fee after reaching the end of the trail at the road near the lake. They say this is for the “safety” of both myself and the other patrons of the park, but nothing makes me feel less safe than knowing some security guard on a power trip can interrogate me whenever they please. I’ll take the drive up to the state parks in NC from now on, where i don’t have to pay money for the pleasure of being bothered by Paul Blart’s most incompetent imposter. The trails were nice, for what it’s worth.

This place is amazing!! We stayed 5 days and loved every second. We stayed in campsite 20AA. It is a very short walk to the beach. At night we could hear the waves crashing from our site. We have a 30ft travel trailer with an F250 double cab plus an 8 ft bed and had no trouble fitting. Many sites to choose from of all sizes. On our last day at the park we watched dolphins playing at sunrise and sunset. What an amazing place to visit.

Best of the best. Nowhere will you see in Myrtle Beach the live animals you see in Myrtle Beach State Park. The alligators crossing the trails, the pink Build birds under the bridge. There is just so many unique things about this park that you don’t wanna miss here at Myrtle Beach. Walk the Concrete floors of Atalaya Castle, the hundred year-old castle and attend the crafts fair. They have each year that honors this beautiful monument and structure of Myrtle Beach. Do you want a camp here, it’s a state camping ground, but you better get in early and I mean a year ahead to book a space here. Enjoy, observe, be aware of your surroundings, and relish in God‘s magnificent beauty.

What a spectacular state park. The grounds are so well kept the pier was very exciting to go down and watch the fisherman. You are even able to catch a sunrise and a sunset.

I had a wonderful time at Myrtle Beach State Park. My husband and I went there mainly to satisfy my curiosity. I went with an open mind, and was not disappointed. This place provided me with the opportunity to center myself. I met a beautiful tree that 'spoke to me' about endurance, caring and strength. I am sure he/she holds lots of secrets, and dreams. I also met a delicate butterfly that showed me the importance of relaxing and enjoying a wonderful moment of time. I left Myrtle Beach State Park feeling rejuvenated!

A beautiful park! Much of the trails are shaded, so it's great for walking your dog. Trails are well sign posted. Staff were very friendly.

This is a wonderful park right on the beach. The campsites are great too. The only issue was all the dogs barking. I think the owners leave them in their campers while they go to the beach or sightsee. They bark constantly. I felt like I was staying at a kennel. It should be emphasized at check-in that barking dogs disturb other guests so they should not be left alone.

Very nice place for relaxation and a picnic with friends and family. Or, just go alone for a quick relaxing getaway. FYI, you have to pay admission. It's a fairly reasonable price being that you will have such close proximity to the beach and pier without an overwhelming crowd of people. If you stay a little later, you may get a chance to see the beautiful moon rise.

We spent the week at Myrtle Beach State Park and it was great! We loved the campground as I our site was wonderful! We were close to the camp store, bathhouse, and boardwalk to the beach. We also rode our bikes in the park and across the street to a bike path.

Been to quite few beaches. This has to be on of my favorites. The view of the endless sky line during sun sets and sun rises are a must see. Loads of places to eat, rides can to enjoy, shop even get braids in the hair. They have a place to fish and swimming in the water is great. Not a lot of shells to step on just watc out for the waves in certain time of year. First time ever been here and find everyone very friendly. Check out the aquarium if get a chance.

Went to Myrtle Beach, and it was the most beautiful beach we ever been, it was so warm with the sun and water, the ocean looks nice and clean to me, everyone enjoyed it and I really like it, we went to Myrtle Beach 2 times and this is the 3rd time, still looks nice and having a good time, my sister enjoyed it and my parents enjoy it too, Myrtle Beach is a 10/10, great experience.

Definitely recommend, the park is gorgeous and very well kept. We booked a full service RV site and it exceeded our expectations. The beach was beautiful and not overcrowded for it being peak season.

This was such a relaxing location. They have camping areas, BBQ areas, and most definitely the beach. Not to mention the cool breeze from the Pier. They have everything in place for you, seating with shelter. They have fishing rulers to help guide you to the right catch. They have up to 18 fishing rod holders to make sure you don't lose your catch. If you want an excellent location to have your wedding on the beach, well, this is the spot for you. Bring your own chairs and arch, and you'll he just fine. The beach is clean and well kept with the amazing water hitting against you front the constant crashing of the waves. The little store by the at the pier entrance had all you would need for souvenirs, fishing , refreshments, etc. One of the amazing thing us that they close at ten pm, so if you want to spend a long evening hiking on the trails, you would definitely have enough time.

Went camping here a few weeks ago. Great experience. Your camp site will have an electrical outlet and a water spout. There is also a grill/ fire pit in your area as well. I had a nice corner lot. The bathroom was clean but not like home. Not as much privacy as I was expecting. The gaps in the stall made it uncomfortable for me to go. Otherwise I definitely recommend staying/ camping/ glamping here. Right on the beach, perfect for fishing and swimming.

Myrtle Beach State Park is a hidden gem amomg other peirs within the area! Our visit was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The park is incredibly well-maintained, with clean restrooms, shaded picnic areas, and plenty of walking trails that are both peaceful and scenic. The beach itself is gorgeous—less crowded than the main Myrtle Beach area, making it ideal for a relaxing family day by the water. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the Nature Center was a fun and educational stop for the kids. We saw sea turtles, learned about local wildlife, and even got to explore the pier for some amazing views. If you're looking for a place to enjoy nature without the chaos of the tourist strip, this is it. Whether you're into hiking, fishing, camping, or just soaking up the sun—Myrtle Beach State Park is a must-visit!

Absolutely loved being here for my very first vacation and tent camping for a week. My kids loved all the animals and we all enjoyed all the friendly people that work here and in all the surrounding areas. Will for sure be making memories here to last a lifetime I can't wait for my next vacation best first vacation ever. I was also so excited to be able to get all the geocaches for this state park.

Myrtle Beach State Park—A Peaceful Break from the Crowds! As out-of-towners visiting Myrtle Beach, we were looking for something quieter and more natural—and Myrtle Beach State Park was the perfect find. Just a few minutes from the main strip, it felt like stepping into a totally different world. The shady walking trails, wide-open beach, and calm ocean views gave us a chance to slow down, breathe, and actually enjoy the coast without the noise and traffic. We loved how clean and well-maintained everything was, from the restrooms to the nature center. The fishing pier gave us a great view of the beach, and we loved exploring the park and spotting the local wildlife. If you’re looking to visit the area and want a break from the usual tourist spots, this park is a hidden gem worth every minute!!

I have been coming to Myrtle Beach State Park since the age of 14. ( I am now 62). MB State Park has always had a sense of quiet beauty. It is never "over populated ". For me, it is a place I call home. It has changed a little over the years, but the feeling of peace is always there. Only downside for me...I miss the familiar voice of the seagulls. Who would have thought pigeons would replace seagulls on the beach???

Awesome beach for enjoying in the water, relaxing on sand, having a calm walk on oceanfront, finding shells and stones, feeling gentle breeze while standing on pier, picnicking in the shade, lovely short boardwalk, capturing cool waves, fishes, birds and nature. There is a big chair on the pier with Myrtle Beach sign on it, this state park has an entrance fee per person, plenty of parking, good restrooms and a souvenir shop.

A beautiful state park that anyone can visit. I would absolutely recommend visiting!! ENTRY— You can either pay for entry or if you have a pass for the state parks you can enter without any fee. ACTIVITIES— There are a few trails through the forest area, many of which have signs labelling the types of plants and animals in the environment. There's also an activity center where there's different things for kids to do as well as a few different fish, bugs, snakes, shells, and others to look at. The pier and beach is beautiful and there is a gift shop at the pier where you can get ice cream. OTHER— Over all lots of things to see, the park was also very clean with multiple areas to properly discard waste and little to no trash littered around. Lots of animals and plants to look at.

Nothing bad to say other than to do your due diligence in scouting out your camp site because some are quite tight with all the trees. But that is what we love is all the trees - absolutely beautiful! Very clean place. Fairly quiet except for the planes going and coming (right next to the airport). Also, we noticed some of the sewer hookups were quite high and some ppl had trouble getting to drain - ours was a lower one thankfully. We love it here and will definitely be back again.

Quickly becoming my favorite beach vacation spot! I love that this relatively quiet state park is basically on the beach! From my campsite to the beach is less than a 5 minute walk! You can beat being able to sleep in a tent and listen to the waves crashing at night! The biggest downfall is how close it is to the airport, so there is a fairly constant stream of airplane takeoff noise (LOUD!), but I found I quickly got used to it. The campsite itself is beautiful, well shaded and well maintained. As a single solo female tent camper, I never felt in danger and had friendly neighbors each time I've been there! It's nice to see more tents popping up each time I go! The park is also dog friendly! The biggest tip I would give anyone, is if you're in a tent or need to stake anything down, BRING A HAMMER! The ground is rock solid! Also, ants, bring bug stuff! It is nice to be able to be at a quiet camp and beach, and still be able to drive just 15 minutes north and be at the boardwalk with all the stuff for kids and family to do, or drive 15 minutes south and visit Litchfield Beach to find an abundance of whelks shells!
