They do basic work quality. Nothing special. But their communication with customers is so lacklustre that it is embarrassing. There’s no organizational skills or ability to have customer service. My experience centred around a very basic oil change, which was pre-scheduled with an appointment. After five hours of going back-and-forth over the phone I was lied to about the status of my car due to a miscommunication from Plymouth auto. Used to be a repeat customer of this place. A customer service has gone downhill.
DO NOT BRING YOUR BMW HERE! Brought my car in for an oil change today and to see if oil was why the valves were causing the tapping or if it was the VANOS(part of the vvt system) when oil is low on any n52 engine the vanos is known for a tick sound similar to a valve tick. If it is the vanos it needs to be ran for the oil to get where it needs to be. Any master tech knows this( 11 years in the auto industry) so in the process of changing the oil the filter cap somehow broke, no biggie right? Wrong charged 100.99 for a part thats 45.99 no labor needed you twist it on. The they proceed to stip the new part! They tell me its not the vanos ,and honestly looked like they didnt even know what it is, and that its the valves. I walk out and notice the stripped brand new part and go in to tell the them about it and they just look at me like im lying. To and insult to injury I drive the car home and guess what? The ticking goes away because its the vanos. I'll leave the pics so everyone can see that this shop is no better than jiffy lube. Notice the shady stuff on the invoice as well? CUSTOMERS BEWARE!

Called in the morning because my tire was very deflated and I also needed an oil change and they were able to get me in right away. They also found another safety issue I wasn’t aware of and also fixed it the same day. Happy with the service.

$300+ for diagnostics for them to tell me what I already told them before I brought it in. $900 quote for starter replacement. When I picked it up, they had a hard time locating my keys and my car was in the lot with the hood open.
Friendly staff and good experience. Had a flat and stripped lug nut - AAA recommended Plymouth Auto & Tire Center. This was my first experience and it was positive. They replaced my tire with the same model (an expensive tire) and also tightened up a loose oil drain plug for me that they noticed was leaking. Will be returning
Bottom line up front: get a quote for everything they do before they do it, including diagnostics, and research whether they’re overcharging for any or all of it.
We brought our car here after smelling oil burning and after having driven with a failed O2 sensor (previously diagnosed) for some time. This was all shared with them coming in the door.
They charged $250 for the diagnostic alone (which they charged separately). The diagnostic revealed what we already knew and that a head valve was leaking and spraying oil onto the exhaust manifold. They conveyed a sense of urgency (quote “this is a safety issue”) because it could lead to a fire.
The quote came out to 1400 or so for both jobs. They quoted “conservatively” in case the valve body was cracked.
When pushed, they admitted that the risk of fire is unlikely, and the chance that the valve body was damaged (instead of just the seal) was very low.
We took it to our regular (smaller) mechanic (30 minutes away) and got both issues fixed for just less than the cost of Plymouth Auto’s diagnostic.
We won’t be taking any vehicle back to Plymouth Auto, no matter how urgent the problem may seem.
Traveling to NY from PA with family in the car and a tire sensor goes off indicating an issue. Pulled in and asked them to save the day. The guys were great. They were busy but looked at my tire quickly and diagnosed a dead tire sensor. They checked all our tires, confirmed they were fine, and had us on our way in minutes. They helped us immensely by getting us back on the road quickly, efficiently, and with GREAT service.
The first time I tried them for tire replacement. The kept my car all day and did not get the tire. I gave them one more shot since close to my house. They charged me 159 an hr for 2 hrs to replace an oil pan. This is a 1 hour job. I would look elsewhere. North Penn Mazda is less expensive.
Visiting from Western PA and got a screw in a tire. Quick service. They explained how fixing and showed me the patch not leaking. Very worried, but great service.
My husband and I were on our way from NYC to Pittsburgh after helping a 19 yr. old get settled into school. On the highway we ran over debris and soon the pressure started to go down on a tire. We hobbled off the highway and made it to Plymouth before we were running on the rim completely. The guys at Plymouth were awesome. Already clearly busy they quickly diagnosed the issue and were able to plug the tire and get us back on our way. They were as fast a pit crew. :) Seriously, what could have been a multi-hour issue they helped avoid with just a few minute issue. If you are anywhere near the area these guys are the best.
My car was shaking and smoke was coming from under the hood. I took my car to this place to have it fixed. They told me it was fixed and I picked it up, paid them $2k, 8 days later my car was doing the same exact things as when I took it in 2 weeks before. This time they told me it was my brakes and would cost well over $1k to fix. I asked them how did they not tell me this before when they did a 30 point check the 1st time, and they pretended not to know what I'm talking about. Bottom line is that I know that they ripped me off the 1st time. I'm writing this review because I honestly believe that people should know who they are dealing with. I'll never take my vehicle to this place again and shame on them for being dishonest. You are affecting people's lives and you should aim to do better. 0 stars!!!
I just got my tire puncture repaired within 15 minutes of reaching them. Though it was a busy morning for them they understood my urgency and immediately put a person to work on my car and brought me back to my schedule without any trouble. I would definitely consider them for my future auto repair needs. Very nice and professional.
I stumbled upon Plymouth Auto & Tire a year ago for an inspection and thought the staff there was great. Prior to that I was just a gas customer. Inspection rolled around this year and I used them again, why give the money to the dealer. Sadly it turned out I needed new tires and breaks. I got their price, then contacted the dealer. Plymouth Auto was about $200 less expensive for the job. Yesterday they completed the work and once again, the staff was great. I truly can't say enough good things. If you are looking for a trustworthy mechanic shop, give them a try. I'm glad I did.
John and the crew at Plymouth Auto and Tire are truly exceptional people! I received service above and beyond the call of duty recently and thought they deserved special commendation for their efforts. I went in there this past Saturday afternoon after my brake lines blew out (on the Schuylkill, no less) and told them my car was scary to drive. Well, they brought me right in and put my baby up on the lift right away. Initially, they told me that they were too backed up for a Saturday afternoon and that they would get to it first thing Monday morning. I told them that I planned to leave first thing Monday morning on a road trip to Michigan. I nicely asked them if they could repair my car by Monday morning and that if they could I would really appreciate it. I left my car with them and they let me use a loaner car for free which was really quite nice! I didn't even miss the car show in Hatfield that night that I was planning on going to. Before I even left from Blue Bell for the car show in their loaner car that same evening they called and said that THEY PUT AN EXTRA MAN ON THE JOB AND STAYED AN HOUR EXTRA after closing just to get the job done! WHAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! After the car show was done in Hatfield, I returned their loaner car to them in Plymouth Meeting and then paid for and picked up my baby, a 1996 Cadillac Sedan de Ville so I could drive it on my cross-country trip to Arizona! THANKS SO MUCH, GUYS!! You are the best and I will be recommending you to all of my friends and family! You truly earned this 5-STAR review!
