I’ve been going here for years. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I’m disable and they always offer to give me a helping hand. I tried to tip them and was told no thank you more than once. I went the next Wednesday and bought several different sandwiches, chips and various soft drinks. The boss and staff was very grateful. Thank you for your service.
The workers are friendly and very helpful. Good experience from entering the facility from beginning to end. No more paying the high prices of home garbage pick up service.

I believe Chestnuthill Township transfer station is very productive. These guys work really hard and are ready and willing to help out. When I visited the transfers station today the gentleman at the entrance in the booth was very respectful, polite and informative, although I had many questions he answered them and then handed me a pamphlet as well to assist me for future visits.

The manager/ boss or whatever the heck he is who sits in his cozy clean little office building when you first go in always has a remark about something. I don't know if he realizes what he's doing but he is always very condescending and just says the most unnecessary things every single time he speaks.
Just take the money and don't say anything that I think would work best in his position.
I am doing a review for the Chestnut Hill Recycle Station. They are the biggest recycle station I've seen. They do everything pertaining to recycling. Along with the regular recyclable stuff (eg. plastic, glass, can, paper, etc); they also take biodegradable stuff like; leaves, branches, trees(cut up) etc. They also take bulk items like; appliance, furniture(treated), mattresses, etc. You will have to pay for those bulk items though, just like regular garbage; which they take also. There is very little they don't take. I'm very impressed with their setup.

Books that are left can be taken home for free, and electronics(no laptops, tablets, or computers) along with other miscellaneous things that are left can be taken home if you leave a donation to the township. :) I love this part!
Throughout the Pandemic the transfer station has done an excellent job by maintaining good traffic flow and allowing 4 vehicles in the facility at a time. The employees are respectful and friendly.

I find it much cheaper to bring my trash & recyclables to the refuse center every other week than to pay Waste Management monthly to pick it up.....

The folks working at this facility are super friendly and work really hard in all kinds of harsh weather without letting it affect their good natures.
One thing I would like to see change would be seoerate lines of traffic, one for recycling and one for garbage only. I've sat in line for quite awhile waiting to drop off 2 garbage bags.
Also, PEOPLE: DO YOUR RECYCLING SEPARATION AT HOME - NOT WHEN YOU GET TO THE FACILITY!
Proper disposal of old TVs and other potentially hazardous containing household items is getting more and more difficult. Keeping our environment clean is of utmost importance. This facility, the process, and the friendly smiles from the workers are a godsend to those who wish to do the right thing for our environment. There should more facilities like this to encourage proper disposal and dissuade illegal dumping.
