AAA towed my vehicle to Bulger's on Friday, 1/23 with an intermittent power problem (sometimes the car had power and sometimes it would just be completely dead). I had to rent a car. I called the shop on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - no response. On Thursday, I finally had AAA reach the shop. When I spoke to the mechanic, he said he had been there every day, and that my truck had been fixed days earlier. So, I returned my rental car and had a friend take me to get the vehicle. I paid for the repair; I was told it was a simple problem with the battery cable. The mechanic asked if I need him to "go print out a receipt". I told him that I did not need a printed a receipt as long as they emailed me one with what the service was they performed. I of course never received that email/receipt. The truck started and I drove it home. That evening, I went out to go to the store, and there was no power. They did NOT in fact, fix it. While it was bad enough that they had the vehicle for six days, and did not let me know it had been repaired, it was NOT in fact repaired. But, I was willing to give them a chance to make it right. I called and left a voicemail immediately. I called again in the morning - no answer, left another voicemail; called again at lunchtime - no answer, left another voicemail; and then gave them one more opportunity late in the afternoon - no answer, left another voicemail. Finally, I contacted AAA to have them put me with another company to fix the battery, and contacted my bank to challenge the charge. I would NEVER use this company - poor work, poor customer service, poor communication.

Way too over priced. Moody and rude mechanic. Takes far too long and fails to fix the issue.

My girl and I got stuck on 81 after her alternator went out. After being towed there by AAA, I told the guy out situation and he got our car up on short notice. He was very friendly and personable. I appreciate all the work he did and he stayed after hours to finish up on her car. If I ever have any car issues around this area, I’ll bring my cars to him.

While I haven’t had the opportunity to have work done at his shop, I did have Mr. Bulger come to my rescue several times when I called AAA and he was the representative closest to me to help. The first time was when my Hummer wouldn’t start, and it turned out the battery was dead. It takes a pretty big battery most people might not carry, but he had it, and installed it for me. The second time was when I locked my only set of keys in my other car by accident. Mr. Bulger came and was able to unlock the door in a matter of minutes, without any damage to the car.

Let me start by saying I have never had work done at this garage. However, my truck engine seized up and I needed it towed to a local shop. I called Bulger’s only because they were so close to both where my truck broke down, and to where I live. The tow truck driver (who I’ve dealt with through the entire process) arrived quickly. We went to Bulger’s to pay for the tow and it was a quick and painless process. The reason I’m giving 5 stars is because of what happened next. Knowing the impending costs of fixing my truck, my S/O and myself were struggling to get the funds together. We asked if we could let our truck sit at Bulger’s while we come up with a plan of action. The gentleman was kind enough to let us keep it there. We called to let him know that we would be using AAA to get it towed off of his lot while we build up the funds to get it fixed. Days turned into weeks, weeks eventually turned into 2 months. Today we called AAA to finally get it towed, and we learned that the gentleman that had helped us through the entire process would also be the AAA tow truck driver. Although curious as to why we had our truck sitting there for 2 months, he was understanding. And, he assured us that our truck would be towed to our desired location either this evening, or first thing tomorrow morning. This gentleman has no idea how much this has helped us, as we have been taking many financial hits recently. My S/O and myself both have mechanics in our family. However, it’s safe to say that Bulger’s has built a very strong base of trust with us. And although we hope that we will not have any more car troubles for awhile, we do feel confident in taking our vehicles to Bulger’s. Thank you.

I have been going to this shop for years. Even when I relocated out of the area I always came back to Bulger's for my car repairs and when my son got his first car we took it straight to Dick's to get it gone over thoroughly. He is the only garage I would ever trust to approve the safety of the car for my one and only child! I have always been treated kindly and fairly!

Worst towing experience I have ever dealt with. The man who towed my vehicle was very rough with my vehicle and went well out of his way to purposely charge me extra money. The extra cost, due to being through AAA was not much and is not my point, it's the fact that this happened at all. Much, much worse than the cost though is how my vehicle was handled and how I was treated by the company. Multiple times the man hit the chains and cables against my vehicle and when he rolled my vehicle off of his truck, he dropped it over a foot onto the ground. This caused my rear tires to bottom out in the wheel wells and the contents of my car to get thrown all over the place. When I called about this later, I was treated very rudely and even hung up on mid-word, but then again, the person who picked up the phone was the driver. In summary, do not trust your vehicle to these guys, they will damage it in some way or another and they will use underhanded methods to try to put a few extra dollars in their pocket.

Let me start by saying if there was a way in which to give negative stars, that would be my rating for this shop. I had been quoted for work to cost $500. When I went to get my vehicle they told me it would be almost $900.00 to get my vehicle back. Now I can understand another hundred or so dollars. What I can't see is when the price gets increased 80% from the original quote without even notifying me. I was more then unimpressed with the owner Dick who had nothing more to say about the issue unless I paid him to get my vehicle back. Customers beware of the lies and stress this shop will put you through. Not only did the repair cost more, but it took longer then he said and it still is not functioning properly. Never ever ever come here for a repair or even an oil change. -One Disgusted Customer
