Fortunately, I brought this up with my neighbor. He told me he and others he knows get their batteries from Battery Outlet. I gave them a call. He had two models. The better one (matching my current battery) cost only $110!
Their car batteries are Deka brand, which was new to me. But after a Google search, I discovered they were known for their reliability. And not only are they made in the US, they are made in Pennsylvania!

I always try to shop local. The young man who took care of me was super nice, very helpful. He even carried the battery to my car and took the old one out of the trunk for me to recycle. I've been going there forever! They always have the battery I need and way cheaper than the chain store competition up the street. If they don't have it, they have ordered me one. Got a laptop battery and my phone battery from them too.

I've been going to battery outlet for decades. Such an awesome place to get batteries. ANY batteries, not just car batteries. Coin batteries. Emergency light batteries, tractor batteries, flashlight batteries. Etc. The owner is so polite and personable. And prices are incredibly reasonable. Customer for life!
Poor phone service. The building looks like something out of a third world country. Seriously, it takes about $50 to buy some mortar and parge the front of your building and a zoo koala could do it. Got some phone batteries years ago that were mediocre, not great. Tried to call about a car battery, I'll just go to Wal-Mart...

Bought a car battery there and it was junk. Would not hold a charge. Had it tested by 2 parts chains and my mechanic. All said it was bad. He keeps insisting that they are all wrong. Had to get new battery from Walmart that works. He still won't take back his battery. I'm out around 100 bucks. I tried to shop local and got ripped off.
Not only are the prices good, but the battery selection may be the best in the city.
This is the only place I can get my special size motorcycle battery without having to order it in.
The owner is an ignorant person, too busy to be courteous or professional on the phone. Be sure NOT to ask him about the quality of his batteries, he'll lose it and hang up on you! 1 star is definitely 1 star too many for this jerk.
