Nice view. Cool rocks. But ALOT of glass. It's everywhere. Because of that not great for exploring

Definitely not the best view the South Mountains have to offer, but it doesn’t suck either. It’s a gravel area you can park your car at and walk a little to the edge of the rocks to look out, nothing else. Watch for broken glass and snakes in/on the rocks below.

The overlook has parking for several vehicles. When we were there, it was just us and another truck. There are no safety railings and just a rocky outcrop near the area. You are free to walk around, but be careful. The views are stunning and the isolation is wonderful. Off the beaten trek, so it won't be overrun with people. Make sure you have a good vehicle that can take gravel roads. The road is a bit bumpy in spots, but well worth the trip. EDIT: I added some more photos of a rocky area just up the hill from the vista. Go directly across the road and you will see an area that is open. I didn't see a trail per se, but I followed the rocky path up. You end up at an open area with natural rocks.

The pin is dropped in the wrong spot. There is nothing really to see off in the woods, the vista point is right there on the road. Beautiful view, but save yourself some time tromping in the woods.

Simply a small gravel parking lot on a rocky outcrop on a dirt road, but one of the best overlooks in Michaux. Definitely off the beaten path. Across the road there are paths/logging roads for hiking. Down the road toward Shippensburg about a quarter mile there are more old logging roads to hike that will take you down into the valley below the overlook.

Awesome view easy drive I made it in my 95 Pontiac Grand Prix followed the road the whole way to mt Holly without trouble

Some very nice views, but a little bit of a drive down some fairly well kept dirt roads.

Beautiful area but this particular spot is trashed. Broken glass everywhere.

Pretty spot to get a view out over the Michaux State Forest. Nothing spectacular or interesting here other than the view. But it's worth popping in.

Gorgeous view of Micheaux. Great place to have a picnic on the other side of the road. Beware of all the glass shards though. So many broken bottles over the rocks and the lookout.

Fun drive along Hogshead road to get here. This portion of the mountain is made of loose rocks with no vegetation to obscure your view. Most of the hollow north of Big Flat can be seen from here, it's impressive. After a long day of hiking, this is a great spot to pull over and watch the sunset over Michaux state forest.

Beautiful view! It's a shame that the old wall has been almost completely destroyed. Still worthy of a visit though.

Nice secluded spot, gravel road up the mountain. Beautiful view, I just wish people did not spray paint the rocks.

One of my favorite places to be in the quiet

Beautiful scenic overlook deep into the Caledonia/Michaux State Forest. Was told about this place by a hunter we ran into, he said it's been a popular spot for years but it wasn't easy to find. We picked up a map of the park in the Michaux State Forest District Office along Route 30 and it was on the map, so I added it to Google Maps to make it easier for other people to find. There is an old stone wall here that is falling apart from years of abuse but the view is great.
