What clients say about Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Salem (OR)

I love all Restores, however any discerning Habitat shopper knows that they are not all created equal. The employees here are really kind, and the space is extremely clean and organized. I usually find what I go in for, and then some.

Prices were fair on some items but really high on others. Parking lot is tight and rough but navigating in a wheelchair isn't too bad. The aisles are a little tight in places though. Staff are friendly and helpful

This place is awesome you can always find what you need when you're working at home or working on a project.

The people here that work in the back or on the floor are rude. The help shouldn't be fallowing me around like a lost puppy hitting on me.

I love this store. It's a perfect place to pick up odds and ends at a great price. Staff is friendly and helpful. Adding an update: No public restrooms and some things were waaaaay overpriced. 5gallon buckets of paint were over 100 dollars I can get paint cheaper new ath the store. Found a couple of good finds. Still 5 stars

You will always find some treasures here and if you're lucky enough to find what you went for, you can sometimes leave with an incredible deal. It's more than building materials and fixtures - there is furniture, sometimes home accessories. And GREAT sale prices, if you time it right. Tax deductible donation receipts for your donated items.

Outrageous prices for a bunch of busted used up junk. $250 for a table thats worth $20 with a bunch of scuffs and no chairs. These people have lost their mind.

I understand that this is volunteer ran but when they say they're closing 15 minutes before the actual close time is frustrating when I drove 30 minutes to get there and I got off work at 5:00 and had to rush to get there.

They actually close and shut their doors at 5:45pm. The wont sell past that time frame. Be aware its really hot inside on warm days and the employees arent very eager to help.

Called because I am a disabled veteran and have difficulty walking, to see if they still have some air conditioners in stock, employee told me I could come in and look. Is there only one employee? couldn't someone just walk over and see?

This HFH is really one of the worst I've been in. Prices are super high, people who work there aren't as eager to help. The store in Woodburn is much better. Pricing is much more reasonable and the people who work there are fantastic. Too bad. My kids go to SSHS so we live close to this one but we would rather drive to the one in Woodburn.

The staff is amazing, the prices have gone up too much. Time to start buying used on marketplace. ?

Basically my favorite place in the world. I’d rather go here first over any other store. Great prices, and on top of that they have insane discount days. Perfect place to go when wanting furniture, doing home improvement/DIY, and all your electric needs. Massive thanks to them and everything they do for the community, keep up the good work guys ?

Had a twin bed frame in great condition and a desk for children/young adults. Would not accept either of them be ause they contained wood and weren't all metal. I was under the impression this place is to help those less fortunate. Sadly dissappointed.

My first trip many months ago during their 50%, everything sale was an absolute joke. They did not honor their signage and / or pricing, so we left two full flat carts at the checkout and walked out. Then I made the mistake of giving them a second try. Oh, that one was a doozy. I picked up a small 4 drawer plastic container filled with nuts screws nails and much randomness for my husband. We went to go pay for it and were accused of stealing as they said the container wasn't that heavy when they put it on the shelf. The cashier and the manager were both accusatory towards my friend and I. Got upset that I was viewed as a thief from young people we walked out. However, the Woodburn Restore is amazing. I just dont live out that way anymore

Really disappointed with the selection they have now. It seems like it's been reduced by 3/4. It's clean, but the staff isn't as helpful and attentive as the previous staff. I went looking for four items that would have been there before and aren't there now, e.g. any kind of glue..lamp selection...tile variety... A disappointment all the way around.

I love the ReStore stores and the opportunity to find that something unique or just what you need at a great price! I have shopped at many of them and just yesterday went to the Salem one. Wonderful staff and I found a great loveseat and an original painting done on an old framed window. I am a happy camper! Thank you ReStore!

I had bought items for a great price, in the past but Lately they over price a lot of their stuff maybe whoever is in charge of pricing items is not too smart ,

Fantastic selection on stuff! Furniture is a bit much, but absolutely amazing prices on lights and odd items. Flooring can be found at azing prices if you catch them right!

No real deals IMO and some things are more that retail in the store and a lot more than online. It seems that they don't even simply Google the item. Brand new stuff is easy to check prices on and there is certainly some added value by getting the item right away, however when HDHR was $45 for a dovetail saw that the exact saw sells for under $20 at lowes and $1000 for a dented gun safe that retails for $599 at Costco, well you see my point. That said, their eclectic stuff that you can't get elsewhere is still interesting and there is no way to set a retail on that stuff. Just be careful on the new stuff.

Found a lot of useful items for my project and saved a ton of money. Paid by the pound for some things. Huge space. Staff was helpful. Only a few items were priced too high for a salvage thrift store. Donations coming in while I was there, so best to check periodically.

The store is really fun and the staff there were very knowledgeable and helpful.but the cashier was rude and she gave you the feeling that she just wanted you to get the hell out of her store or else .she was barking at the customers and loudly bossing her co workers around.it was uncomfortable so Me and my friend felt like we were not welcome. We are still happy with everything we bought.

The management of this store is embarrassing!!!! I show up at 10:15. The Store is open but they do not accept donations until 11:00. The website says they are “open”. The 11 note is hidden very deep in the website. I have driven 20 miles to the store. The staff in the donation section is there!! The staff were quite rude and usually quite surely when I have made donations in the past. I would “fire” them. I am told they do not make exceptions for donations prior to 11. Well, I had a truck load of tools, new electrical construction material, lots of saleable items from my Uncle’s estate. The store has “banker’s” hours.....yet banks open at 10AM. There hours are terrible and not flexible for working people. They are closed on Sundays. Over the years I have donated thousands of items to the store and money to the national organization. No more donations to the store. It seems every time I drive by there with items they are closed. At this rate they will go out of business. Please tell me why Goodwill has better hours? I very rarely get angry.......but here we are!

I set up my apartment with this place and it looks like something out of a Better Homes Magazine no joke! They are so incredibly reasonably priced and my stuff looked brand new! Definitely if you are low budget or not this is a great place to shop for your home and for a good cause.

This place is great! I am remodeling a house and went here for a pedistal sink. I found one at Home Depot for $138. The Restore had an almost identical one (gently used) for $45. It was such a great deal that I kept shopping and found several other good deals on some light fixtures. I would definately recommend this store to anyone doing any type of home project.

Almost my favorite place to browse, I have nearly rebuild my entire house on a dime! Chris the manager is Awesome! And the volunteers are great and helpful too! It helps build houses for disabled people, In fact I framed one. They can hook you up on a crew also, It does a heart good! <3

They have both new and used items for home and garden. A great place for that handyman or homeowner on a budget. They have lots of hard to find hardware items that you can just by the piece you need, and not a whole kit with a lot of parts you don't need. Their inventory is always changing and the staff is friendly.

It can be a fun place to look around. If you're trying to make your place look nice, you probably won't find much here. Small quantities of everything (paint, flooring, cabinets, etc) make it hard to find anything useable for more than a closet or a small bathroom. Good place to pick up circuit breakers, cheap bulbs, and some cool tools from time to time. They sometimes have some good windows, doors and appliances. The downside is that there's a ton of junk, overpriced furniture, etc. I think the stuff does go to a good cause though.
