Olney Saloon has an outrageous burger. Great atmosphere. And Awesome service. It's a beautiful drive through the mountains with waterfalls and elk herds.
Food was OK burger was way cooked cheese not melted how they did that i don't know. But the service was wonderful very nice honest folks prices were a little high but it the love your paying for and you will love this place.
We love places like this! A little out of the way but way worth the drive. Great food, full bar, and a long beer and cider menu. We will definitely be back to try the chili and taco specials.
Got a burger to go in a small to go box. Was flushed so didn’t even need a tooth pick but for some thoughtful reasoning it was decided that putting a tooth pick in side ways instead of straight up(which can’t due to box being small) and having yellow on it so I can’t see it, caused me to take a bite, nearly pierce my tongue, and crack my tooth some. So thanks for that . Gotta use brains not trains when handling food this is dangerous…..
I love Big O ? stop at the store regularly, and have ordered food to go many times. Yummy Rueben on Tuesdays and other food always goes the spot. I love the pasta salad!
I have been coming here for over 10 years and I’ve always liked this place. It’s clean and good service but for a chili burger and pop on special for $20 seems a little expensive. Food has always been good here.
This countryside bar is one of my favorite local spots. The staff here are nice, and always ready with a recommendation or a bit of friendly banter. The drinks are well-priced, and there’s a selection of brews and spirits. Lots of weekly specials, the Ruben is one of my favorites.
Service was excellent. Food and drinks great. Had four Sunday Tacos, Margarita , Bloody Mary and Jalapeno Poppers..
The tab was in a mason jar which was cute.

Outdoor space is inviting. Games and shade and a water station. I got the Hawaiian Burger with Chicken and it was phenomenal. Such a great gem of a place.
One of my favorite places to visit, the food is always on point and the staff is fantastic.
Always feels like visiting home when I walk in the door. Plus they've got some really fun events they put on throughout the year.

As a native Oregonian I have driven by this place for years. Don’t let the number of cars fool you…plenty of space inside to sit and eat. Friendly folks, great ambiance, look for the Oregon Duck Rugby license plate when you’re there!
Love this place! I love the atmosphere, the people, and the food. My favorite is their white cheddar baked mac and cheese. Plus, their Bloody Mary's are the best around!
This place is awesome! Very friendly service, the food is very good. Out of the way of the city traffic, very relaxing atomsphere.
Highly recommended for the adult quiet time and just relax and have great dinner. They also have events so check their wedsite.
We have Elk hunted in this area for over 50 years. Yes we’re old. But this place has been a hot place for a roadside bar. We go there to watch the football games on the weekend. Staff is always there to help. Owners have put their heart and soul into this place. Great stop.
Passing through while participating in the Hood to Coast relay. They really were accommodating and had a super smooth operation happening.

The trouble is that this place is extremely over-hyped! We had high hopes based on other Yelp reviews and a feature on Grant’s Getaways. The food was a huge letdown! Burgers are frozen pucks with zero flavor and not even seasoned to help make them more appetizing. Way too much sauce, another attempt to hide the poor quality beef patty, so extremely messy. Also, you can order an appetizer of fries for $8 but burgers don’t come with them. The burgers lacked any beefy flavor and I felt like I was eating cardboard. For the price, I expected a hand-pressed beef patty made with higher quality beef. $48 for 2 burgers, order of fries, 2 beers. A bit much.
Also, ticket totaled $47 and we were charged $1 since we used a card with no verbal disclosure of this UNTIL after we paid. Sneaky.
Would I return? Not likely. Was it worth the drive from Fort Stevens State Park? No. Would I recommend this place to someone else? Nope!
This is such a great stop. The staff is always friendly and prompt, the food is tasty, and the space is always cool and comfortable in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter. I love going for tacos on Sunday and really like the Mac and cheese.
Very warm and friendly place. A big drive from Seaside but not bad if you're out in Astoria. Great drinks, and food was typical for a bar, nothing out of the ordinary.
There was a good amount of space out in the outdoor patio with a fireplace. The bar top itself is pretty small / intimate. Good stop!
Stopped here in Olney on a trip around Astoria. Great food and drinks. Busy during the Summer so make sure you get there well ahead of the lunch crowd who are typically motorcyclists on group rides. Great outdoor seating and the friendliest, hardest working staff anywhere. Highly recommended!

Also, these people blocked us on Facebook because we sent a private message to the owners to tell them about a burn wound I got from their Jalapeno Poppers. The waitress shrugged it off when we told her and ran off. It turned into a 2nd degree burn (see picture) but could have been 1st degree if we got some help from the waitress to take the heat away. We just wanted to privately inform the owners about the excessive heat of the filling in the poppers and this could have turned worse if it drooped on young children but instead of showing some understanding, they decided to block us. Guess they can't handle this kind of feedback.
My review used to be much better in the past.
update: a few months later, it's clear that my Big O Saloon burn is a scar of about a square inch that will be an eye sore for years to come :(((
Great outdoor dining experience. Great rustic, fun, often humorous decor. Even on a cold day we were kept warm and dry by their thoughtful and asethtically pleasing comfort solutions.. Quick, efficient service. High quality ingredients used with just the right touch of flavor. Very generous portions ensure you get your money's worth. Plus, we had free entertainment as we could watch a deer calmly munching grass totally at ease with the attention she was receiving. All-in-all, I can't wait to go back the next time I head to the coast. Don't miss this fun dining experience.
Great food and service. Try the strawberry yucca drink....you can say your welcome from rehab. Love the deep in the woods location. Free peanuts while you wait for food or wait to sober up. Toss the shells on the floor like a boss. Owners are really awesome.
This was a great find and a beautiful drive outside of Astoria. Worth it. Lots of room, a cool outdoor area for a drink and a smoke, heated. The food looked good and I will be back to check that out soon. Cocktails were good
