Not sure how at 125 a ton metal check paid me 280 , but I took an identical baler to this guy, and he looked it over and said he’d do 140 a ton. It came out at $232. The math just isn’t mathing
Not organized,owner at the front not very communicative, also not sure if he is charging the correct amount,also there is one scale for the entrance and exit which is not good have people rushing and can't really understand understand the front desk guy when directing the traffic in and out of the scale, employees sitting around with no clue of what you are talking about when asked a question, I was told by one of the owners or co-owners whatever it's on that one side of the yard you can't get metal from which is kind of odd all the yard looks the same messy,it's the same metal through out.One last thing prices are ok but you will have to dig through stuffbalot of warped metal
Well staff was friendly which was nice but place was a mess got a nail/screw in 3 of my tires because the lot is not kept clean kinda irritated but nothing a plug can't fix
I've been going here since they've been in business it's the only place I like dealing with to sell my metal,they do not take any precious metals like copper ,brass ,lead but there are other places for that plus they have spots sectioned off with various items for sale you may see something you want trust me it's for sale they also have a large salvage connected to it also so you can shop for car parts also if needed LA's is a great place to do business and if you feel your getting the wrong payout they will simply reset the scales and reweigh your out weight love the place really...
I come here about once a week actually I come here so much I have a permanent number to check in with that the owner gave me personally. So who ever is working today 4/8/2022 you are a lazy employee and and those two young guys working out in the yard. If it’s to hard of work for you that your turning down customers because its one or two minutes after 5:30 but your still in the office and have other customers that were already there and your gate is open you need to get out of the customer service business because guess what if it was for us the customers you wouldn’t have a paycheck , we are the reason you have a job and get a paycheck. So tomorrow will be my last time ever coming here because you told me today that you don’t care about your customers at all and the funny thing is I always unload my stuff by myself. That’s how lazy you are.
I recommend avoiding this place. They ripped off my sister, they paid her 5$ per ton instead of 7$ per ton. It was only like 15$ total but that's alot when you dont have anything.
They don't pay the most but they seem to be fair and they have an awesome yard they save a lot of good things that they will sell you most scrap yards won't.
Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy anything from this place! Go somewhere like LKQ. Bought a transmission from LAs that was no good, they didn't have another trans to warranty, they wouldn't give me my money back only on store credit which does me no real good. Anyway save yourself the grief of dealing with these pita people!!
One price was given when I went in and a much higher price when I left. I’ve been going here for years and could not believe the way they treated a regular customer. I would give zero stars if it was an option. Lost a good customer.
Great place for metal sculptors and artists looking for scrap metal for projects. Not many scrap yards these days will let you roam their yard. This one is the best I've seen, I come here every year from NC when visiting family in OKC. Only advice if you're local is bring your own cart or wheelbarrow. I bought 220 lbs of scrap today and had to haul it back a long ways. Prices are great for buying scrap.
Dropped a few tons of tin scrap here. Scrap area was pretty small, maintained ok. They gave us less per ton than the other places. But they are open later.
The usual place I go was already closed, but someone drove up and mentioned this place. It was not well organized, and did not list visible current prices per ton. One way in and out on the scales. Speaker box at scales was horrible. When I went in to get paid I came out to a flat tire and thought dang, the dangers of a scrap yard. The tire guy though pulled out a easily identifiable broken off razor blade. My tire got knifed while inside, since it was closing time employees were out front. Not going back!
I will not go here again some people just don't care how they talk to women we have been going here for years to buy our steel but after today I'll go somewhere else.. Plus I thought they got rid of the man that got in trouble a few yrs back but he's still there & he's the one that talked down to me.. I think I'd get rid of him before you lose more customers.. SMH
Also I was going to buy the pipe I was looking at and the guy yelled at me to move my truck & wouldn't listen & was rude about it so I just left.. No help from him was very rude very unorganized WILL NOT GO BACK
Love this place. Mr La is a great man. They fixed that place up like a salvage yard wonderland. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Recommend them to anyone.
Just took in metal that weighed close to 2000 lbs on the scales at my company's loading dock (which are calibrated daily) and this place told me I only brought in 640 lbs!! This place is not a good place of business at all!
I believe in recycling. If we recycled everything that could be recycled, there would be very few landfills, because what couldn't be recycled could be composted. The world would be a much cleaner place, the air would be clear, the ozone would be still there, and everyone would be happier.
LA has a ton of stuff, old and new. I went a few weeks ago and they were in the process or reorganizing their lot to make it a lot easier for customers to find what they need. They have a ton of vehicles and a whole yard of scrap metal, stuff I've never seen at other yards. It's pretty cheap prices overall.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Organizational skills of a toddler with legos, completely unaware what they have, what they have is junk (no useable parts!). I'm talking most windows busted, most engines seized, most if not all fenders caved in. And to top it off, a yard dog that looks 2 days away from starvation.
Over priced, on parts the guy didnt have knowledge on. Didnt try to negotiate with me. And didnt know if they even had the part. Pay $2 to go easter egg hunting.... wont be back nor recommend to friends.
They are a "pull it yourself" salvage yard! They don't know what they have, you just have to go look. They charge a $2.00 admission but their prices are reasonable and they have an excellent selection of import cars and a few domestics. They also operate a metal recycling unit so it's a good place to go look for lawnmower or appliance parts. Closed on Sunday.
