100% would not recommend!!! We’ve gone there a few times and they will say whatever they have to to not pay you for #1 copper. No matter what yours is they’ll say it’s #2. Then the guy will pull a copper pipe from his stash and say “this is #1.” It literally looks like the guy bought his straight off the shelf from Home Depot. This happened multiple times to both my wife and I. Our copper was clean and organized and he still wouldn’t budge from saying it was #2. I then left with our copper and took it to a yard in Cleveland near my work and no questions asked - they paid us for #1 copper. Will never ever go back to Niles Iron and Metal and I highly suggest you stay away too, unless you don’t care what you’re paid out.
This place has been unlawfully taking pictures and your information and storing it on a computer inside of a scrap yard do you really think that's protected and why the heck are they taking pictures of you first of all without your knowledge They don't say nothing to you go up to the window next thing you know they you see them taking a picture of you They have your information you show an ID so why in the hell will they take a picture of you It's unlawful look it up
I just turned in 2 solid brass headlights from an older car, Plus aluminum And other non ferris From the 40s, they just ripped me off about as ripped off. As you can get. for anything saying 2 pounds, 2 pounds. There's 2 pounds to each I weither them at home first. Their scales are off, they're not friendly. They're trying to get one over on you, never again.
Not very friendly, don't have good prices, one day I had about 800lbs of sheet metal and the one owner said to me do you have any bowling balls in her!!
Took electric motors/ aluminum cans and some other stuff in and when I got the ticket they never weighed the motors witch means I did not get paid for them but they kept them they take all your stuff out of your car and tell you to pull away out front and you can't see if they are putting everything on the scale or not (witch clearly they dont) MY ADVICE TO ANYONE GOING HERE DO NOT PULL AWAY FROM THE SCALE UNTELL ALL OF YOUR STUFF IS WEIGHED
Pulled up on scale. The guys unloaded scrap from bed of truck and sort of materials/weighed.
Workers unloaded aluminum siding from trailer and rolled up my straps and put in truck.
Returned to scales.
Was given a weigh slip and prices for two grades of copper and 4 types of aluminum brought in.
Weigh slip taken indoors for a prompt check.
Easy in and out and fair pricing.
I am never taking anything here again. We took in an entire pickup truck filled to the 3 foot sides with crushed bagged cans over 1000 lbs, weighed the truck before and after. Only recieved 326 lbs worth for them. Tell them pillheads running the machine to keep there hands off.
The owner needs to learn how to talk to people politely also place is very small if you are a rookie driver it will be difficult for you to back into this place
Took in scrap aluminum, copper, brass, and aluminum cans. They are efficient and knowledgeable. I was in and out quickly with a few dollars in my pocket.
