Fast and convenient service, I like that they send a link to your phone to make a payment securly instead of saying card information over a phone call. I wasn't able to pick my vehicle up until after closing hours.
Worst auto shop experience ever! They tried to sell me tires I didnt need, they refused to show me a diagnosis printout for my suspension issue, and my check engine light, yet said I needed $2100 in repairs or the car would immediately leak all its fluids out. Attendant at the desk refused to actually answer any questions I had after I refused the additional repairs.
I hit a curb at low speed, and their estimate in repairs were for $3300.
An alignment was all that was needed, but I asked them to show me the diagnosis printout before I signed for the other repairs and they refused to do so.
My tires are a year old and were previously measured to all be within spec, and they said I needed new ones because they weren't the same brand.
My receipt shows they themselves measured them and they were fine as well, but the desk attendant gave me attitude for not getting new tires.
I tried to get the fluids in my transmission and differentials changed, and that service was refused as well.
Apparently the desk attendant knows more than the dodge dealer as to when or if the fluids needs changed. I was told to never change the fluids. Sure. If I want to change the transmission in a couple month and/or lose my Awd.
I'll never go to the pepboys in Niles ohio ever again and I will tell every soul I meet about my experience.
I was treated like a child, told to get services not needed, and refused services I requested and needed, and furthermore, whoever worked on my car screwed up my drivers window, and it is stuck open now which it was not when I handed the keys over.
Two weeks later and have heard nothing from the company to resolve their employee negligence in the damage caused to my car totalling almost $2000 as of now.
Seeking legal aid to resolve this.
GREAT SHOP! I needed after market parts installed. They did exactly what I wanted done, exactly the way I asked them to do it. Fair rates, friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous staff. I will be taking my vehicle back again should I need anything.
went in for an easy flat tire fix. the guy behind the counter told me it was an easy patch. it’s still going flat and now i’m on the side of the road putting a donut on. thanks!
Needed rear tires to help with grip for upcoming winter weather. Tires were installed and balanced in a very quick manner. Thanks Service Advisor Jason and technicians for the quick repair and amazing customer service!!
I have been to Pep Boys Niles, ohio a few times..Always satisfied with the outcome...Told them the last visit I needed a new tire..They told me that the tire just had a small hole and they repaired it...They aren't out to rip you off, they know their job and do it...
I went in for an alignment and asked them to put it at specific specs instead of what the computer said. The Volvo specs are a little too aggressive and cause fast tire wear. To my surprise he got it to the exact specs I requested down to the 100th of a degree and the car drives perfect now. I really appreciate them doing that and I think they appreciate working on a southern car with no runt underneath. It was snowing so I’m sorry about the water probably dripping on you but you got my alignment perfect. Thanks Kyle.
Service department is great but the salesman Sully at the desk is always upselling me on things I don’t need so I’m pressured into getting something done to get the next job that I came there for done. I know this because I repaired parts on the vehicle myself
Very easy online appointment booking process. And love there no intrest financing option. They were busy and did a great job handling all the customers. They replaced my tires and did an alignment very decent time. Also thank you for having my tires in stock.
They did a great job and they were friendly I needed tires immediately and my first choice was booked, and my second choice couldn't get me in until the following week. Pepboys is great but expensive. Either way the guys were great through the entire process and it was quick for being a Saturday
I made an appointment for a squeaking sound coming from my brakes. After inspecting my vehicle I was told I needed brakes on the front and back along with rotors also! Not good news but Sully was very attentive and friendly when providing information. From beginning to end I was aware of what needed done, Pep Boys should consider themselves fortunate to have a good employee like Sully.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I will recommend them to family and friends for sure. I got a conventional oil change and tire rotation for $58. Everything was done well. I regularly go here for service. You can sit there and wait, but it's convenient to walk over to Panera and wait there too.
I had a screw in my tire & the Peo Boys service advisor informed me that they could not patch it. He said it was too close to the side wall yet it was at least 2 inches from the sidewall. Then proceeded to tell me that he had to special order the tire bc he didn’t have it, & I would have to order 2 tires since it was a special order. After showing him they had my tire on their website which I found before the appointment & had a screenshot of it. He then went outside looked at my vehicle again, he came back inside & then miraculously found it on his computer & all of a sudden he could get it the next day plus I only had to buy 1 tire now! At this point, I asked him to just swap out the tire for the spare, since I have a new Ford Bronco. He then told me that I needed to be careful bc I can only drive so many miles on the spare. I said that’s not true bc it’s a full-size spare exactly like the tire he was swapping out, so there was no mileage requirement. Then he asked me if I wanted to order the tire & I said no. I feel he was trying to take advantage of me just bc I’m a woman but I know my vehicle so he picked the wrong one to do that to! I then took my tire to another reputable company & they said it COULD BE PATCHED WITH NO PROBLEM so they performed the service. Pep Boys company was trying to take advantage of a woman thinking I was just a dumb female & didn’t know anything about cars, thankfully that’s not the case! Pep Boys should be ashamed of themselves but the real question is how many other people have they taken advantage of?!?
Always a great time here with the Boys. I bring a packed lunch and hang out while my vehicle gets the works done. A pleasure to open my wallet here. Job well done.
I went to Pep Boys for a wheel alignment. During their inspection, they told my power steering rack was loose—it wasn’t. Then said I needed a replacement, which would’ve cost thousands of dollars. To be sure, I took my car to a BMW dealer for a proper inspection. They found nothing wrong with the part, completed the alignment, and even test drove the car—it drove perfectly. My point is this: take your car to a place that truly knows what they’re talking about. Don’t waste your time and take it somewhere professional.
I made an appointment because I needed two tires patched. After 45 minutes of dropping my car off and walking over to the mall. They called me and told me they couldn't patch one of the tires and then I needed four new tires because mine were completely bald. I didn't have the money at the time so I had to reschedule, and also go home with my daughter with flat tires. Because they couldn't patch them. But the next day thankfully I went to Flynn's tires. They have walk-ins it was pretty cool. They are honestly a pit crew and got it done so fast. Told me my tires were not bald and had absolutely no problem patching either tires. So they definitely put me and my daughter at risk by not patching my tires and telling me that they couldn't patch them and that my tires were bald. And sending me on my way versus saying my tires could use replacing very soon we have this brand for this much money. And this patch would probably not last more than maybe a a month or two if that. But not just leave me hanging all together. Very unhappy with my service.
I made an appointment to have my oil change and an air conditioning inspection for my Honda Civic. i was told that because my car is newer (2020) that if I had to have my air recharged/filled it would cost 480. I understood this and said do what you have to do. I received a call an hour later that my air filters need changed and if I agreed to it. A few more hours later I was told to return to pick up my Civic. I got my keys and right before I was to leave Justin just casually mentioned oh by the way you have a leak. We put dye in there to find out where it may be leaking but your fluid may last a week a year...don't know. As soon as I got into my car it was blowing hot air still. I called him and he said they will look at it again and he told me I need an air compressor for about 2,000 and that all the fluid just left the car. He said this happens all the time with Hondas and he knew it was that. He said they have at least 6 Hondas come in for this every week.
So...you are telling me that you let me give you almost 500 of my hard earned money for it not to work and actually have to pay for an air compressor. I should have been told on the initial call that I have a leak and need a compressor. I would have said just do my oil change and then get pricing for an air compressor.
I am going to my Honda dealership soon. I wish I would have went there initially but Pep Boys has taken care of my car before and I usually have good service. I was definitely taken advantage of and I will not be returning nor will I recommend.
The service I received here was top notch! I am so pleased and would recommend this PepBoys to anyone looking for tire and brake service for their cars! Sully was amazing! He was very professional and kind! He deserves a raise!!
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My teenage daughter googled where she can get an ac check for free to see why hers wasn’t working, pep boys came up everywhere. So, when she went in and told them she wanted the free check, they scheduled her for today at 3pm. She took her car in and after almost 3 hours they told her that a)it would be $1800 to replace her compressor and b) she owed them $120 for all the Freon they put in it. She said wait, I asked for the free check and didn’t ask for anything that would cost money. Justin was incredibly rude to her the entire time and when she said that she didn’t ask for anything she’d have to pay for right now, he flung her keys in her face and said “just go” I’ll fix your expense myself. What kind of business treats people that way, especially young teenage girls?? I run a business and never in this lifetime would I ever treat or talk to someone like that, especially a child. A young, teenage girl came in alone and you thought you could take advantage of her? Why? Because her parents weren’t with her? Even if she hadn’t specified that she wanted the free check, which she did (I was there when she did in the first place), you think it’s okay to talk to people that way and treat them that way? That’s the most disgusting, unprofessional thing I have ever heard. Again, as someone who works with the public, Justin has NO BUSINESS working with them. Shame on him and shame on pep boys for employing people like that. I will make sure that no one I know, including our company who frequently used them, ever steps foot in there!!!
They over charge you, they are charging me over a $1,000 to do a job that another shop charged me a little over $400. Pepboys even charges for just looking at the car for that they charged $251....didn't touch the car or fix a thing that was just looking at it..Don't go here, they will take advantage of you and over charge you for a job that shouldn't cost that much. $600 more than the job is worth is crazy work....I'd give them a zero if I could....never again
The work was done fast and professionally. Jason took great care of me at the counter. The waiting area was well maintained and comfortable. It did smell like rubber, but you kinda have to expect that. I'll definitely go back for my next set of tires.
Found a screw in my tire, pulled into this Pep
Boys right as they opened, they quickly determined that the screw was only in the tread, and had me back on the road in minutes. Very friendly folks clean waiting room.
Will never use them again! I've used the Niles store for years for all my vehicles in the past. Had my Nissian truck in for rotors and breaks all around in June of this year $1146. Breaks started making noise and feeling funny. Took the truck back to have them checked out. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with them but would bleed the breaks. The mechanic working on my truck didn't seem to be happy about doing warranty work. Soon my truck was done. I drove it around building. And showed Manager Breaks were still making noise. Made appointment to return. For a second opinion. I went to Nissian dealership. They could not get one of the tires off because someone had not only cross threaded one lug nut but two. Two lug studs had to replaced. As far as the breaks. After market pads had been installed in June. Nissian replaced pads with their pads and studs$624. I called Pep Boys Manager to complain. He acted like he didn't remember me and they have a lot complaints to deal with. I would buy tires from them but go somewhere else to have them put on!
