So brought my mother-in-law to try and get a vehicle, it’s not often you get what you want at the auction but today was special. Thank you to the auctioneer and Misses on lane “A” today 01/07/26.. you both made my mother in law smile like a kid!! When I tell you the Fiat 500 POP, was not only the car she wanted, it also the color and size she wanted. You two making sure she could be seen and heard with patience is outstanding and just plain ole kind, for this I thank you!! The car has been named by her as “Ruby Red”, it is her baby? Thanks again!

Not allowed to bid online without a nearly 500$ deposit if youre not a dealer. Ridiculous scam.

The public auction ended higher than I expected. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly

Really awesome well equipped auction, plenty of steals if you play your cards right, lots of great inventory, great staff that actually cares.

I’ve been to this auction multiple times looking for a decent truck. Every time they are on the auction block they start the bidding at 15k-25k. Never letting anyone on the floor to get a bid, unless you’re a dealer with unlimited resources. I heard this was a good place before they let the dealers bid online and steal every car/truck across the block. Not going back, just wasting your time and money on vehicles that the dealers get the best shot at. No way for an individual to get a decent ride before the dealers can get them and charge 10k-15k more than they paid. And of the car/truck does not sell they just send it back to the auction and let another dealer overbid for it

Contracted my car to be put through the auction, watched auction lanes online from beginning to end and didn’t see my car go through. I called and asked about it & lady on phone tried to tell me it went through, I assured her I didn’t witness it. She then said there was a private offer on my car much lower than I had expected. I was to then negotiate with said person, and ultimately left me with pennies. I was not made aware this would be part of the auction process. BEWARE because they might just let a private bidder accept the bid for your car without ACTUALLY RUNNING IT THROUGH THE AUCTION.

I’m a dealer in Alabama. Bought a unit Lexus LX470 from them that had the odometer rolled back from 250,000 plus miles to 109k miles. Nothing was listed stated that and when I tried to Arbitrate it or send it back they refused… that’s horrible business in my opinion. Now I’m stuck with it for $9,000 plus repairs I have done to it and can’t sell! DEALERS/BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! Will never do business with this auction again and have let a lot of Alabama dealer friends know how they do business.

Bought a green light 2015 Genesis with no listed issues except peeling paint. Soon as I started to drive the car it was rough shifting, indicator had a bad transmission. I immediately returned and asked that my money be returned because this was an issue that should have be listed. The check got an attitude and told me it was red light car, which it was not . told me talk to the acting manager. Well she proceeded to ignore me for about an hour. I had no choice but to take the car . Hyundai tells me $13,000 for a new transmission. I’m thinking about taking legal action

I bought a car from them, paid for it, ordered delivery from them. 3 months of waiting and every time I called they told me that they would bring it soon. As it turned out, they delivered it to a different address. They don't want to solve this problem. I was left without money and a car. This is the attitude of Skipco employees. It was their mistake, but they don't want to fix it.

What terrible place. A bunch of garbage out there. If you're not a mechanic don't buy nothing. They smile in your face and sale you a car that may not make off the lot. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy.

I go every week on Wednesday for the past ten years . I haven't seen a auction better yet

Don't come here if you don't have a dealership license. Its hard for the people of the public to win a bid on a good car because dealerships are greedy! It's not fair they will do the dealership auction first (which the public can not be part of) then they will do the public auction and all the greedy freaking dealerships take all the good cars. It's so frustrating. Everyone is so money hungry now and days. I wish they had a auction day specifically for the public where dealerships can not come and snatch all the good cars. Absolutely disgusting and unfair. They also give dealerships better selections on vehicles and give the public the run down vehicles. I had a nice list of vehicles I wanted to bid on but could not because they were only offered to dealership so I wasted my time driving 2 hours and 30 minutes here. I won't be back and if you aren't a dealership just don't even come.

Bid on a car online, happy with it. Great price. Easy process. But take cash to pay, not a card, because they add a percentage to the total.

Best car-buying experience I've ever had. Just prepare yourself a little bit ahead of time. Watch the short instructional video on their website. Sit in on one of the actual Wednesday auctions (I did online) so you can get a feel for the process, timing, etc. Pick your favorite vehicles from the pre-auction listing. Research the vehicles. If you're serious about one or more of them, drive to Skipco the night before and see the vehicles in person. Make notes on how much you're willing bid on them. Then have fun with it. I wound up getting a smokin' deal on a low mileage 2016 Nissan Sentra for my teenage daughter. Saved thousands below what I would have paid for it at a dealership. Great car. And the staff at Skipco are super professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a pre-owned vehicle.

A really good experience every time. They have tweaked the timing to root out riff-raff and looky-lous, which is REALLY nice. There is definitely a learning curve here: DO your research, PRINT stuff out, GET carfaxes, START the car(s) up, etc, etc. Efficient and safe and really well-run. The website has been seriously upgraded, too, in the last year or so to include many many resources and links therein.

Bought 3 vehicles here over the years. Jeep Patriot, Chevy Equinox & Subaru Forester. All 3 had dash lights upon arrival to pick up the vehicle. The worst & the straw that broke the camel's back was the Subaru. Pics online showed NO dash lights & NO report of anything wrong except an exhaust leak. Ended up paying $4,100 with tax & was only able to sell & get $2,700 out of it. I asked for arbitration & was denied by 2 people who say they're in management at this place. Was told it's AS IS. Well, I wouldn't have bought the Subaru if the Engine, Traction Control & blinking Cruise lights were on all of the time. They posted a false pic online of NO dash lights. Also, makes ZERO sense that they allow dealers to the public auction. Why do dealers get access to anything & public buyers get access to only 1 event? Skipco could have made the situation better, but didn't. Almost forgot to mention when I bought the Equinox, they labeled it as having AWD. Didn't find out until I got home with it & ran the VIN that it was NOT AWD. Buyer beware - you may not see any trees at Skipco but this business is shady AF.

I’m beginning to look for a car, casually and Skipco Auctions seems like the place I’ll go to get a car. It’s open to the public. You can pre view cars. They have mechanics on site if you want something looked at. Overall it seems like a great opportunity. You can watch and bid online too. They were helpful and explained the process well. I didn’t buy today but I’ll be back.

Wednesday auction killed it for me and about a dozen people I know. Skipco couldn’t have picked a worse day and time to have their new auction. Too bad, I’m guessing they will feel the business slump as I and many others are scratching off ever dealing with them. Sad as they had a decent system for years.

Worst auction. Bought a car with a 3.5 grade. Tried to sell it next week in the same condition and they graded it 2.0. I even had it washed and detailed so I brought it back in better condition. They favor certain dealers and they are money greedy. Type of place that would screw you over $100. Never buying from here again.

I have purchased several vehicles all had honest descriptions on any issues the cars/boats may have except for my last purchase. I bought my son a car earlier this year and it had an above average grade. I drove it off the lot and it had buzzing sound in the rear end. Took it to get fixed and it needed a rear differential. It seems like they only want to move vehicles now and honest descriptions are a thing of the past. Lesson learned won’t go back.

Love the atmosphere at the auction, bid on what you want and get it. Vehicles are repos, so knowing that going in can get you in a very decent ride for a lot less. Speaking from past experience, all aspects of the process went smoothly, from registration to vehicle pickup. Staff friendly and helpful (Especially if you're unwise to how they operate). I purchased a fine Nissan from them that I'm still driving to this day. Decent vehicles, easy acquisition, and you pretty much set your own price. Can't say enough about the great atmosphere there.

I work for a dealership buying vehicles. This is by far the nicest and most professional auction house I have dealt with. Our sales rep Mike Black was super helpful and very helpful. Every employee I interacted with was nice and professional. I have been to other auction houses and Skipco has been my best I have been to.

Didn't win on any bids, but had a enjoyable time anyway. Not fair dealers have the better selection to choose from. But you can check out the cars before the auction starts.

Staff was very nice and very helpful. We walked away with a great vehicle for our teen driver. Only needed about $60 in parts to fix what was wrong and we saved $2,000 off of KBB value. Make sure you read the paper they give you so that you know about all of the fees (tax, title, buyers premium). We will definitely buy here again.

Got a good running vehicle at a great price. Definitely would recommend going to an auction if you're in need of a vehicle ASAP.
