So I went in on Saturday to buy an air pump to put air in my 2 wheel cart. I bought an electric air pump that plugs into the lighter outlet of the truck. I got home and realized that there was not a lighter plug on the truck but just a regular plug. I went back to the store to return it and the guy kind of bullied me into an adapter. I bought the adapter, got home and the pump did not work. I went back to the store to return it and he would not give me my money back but only store credit (this was with my receipt and within an hour). The other guy that works there chuckled and said that he knew it wasn’t going to work because other people had problems with the same pump. I feel totally taken advantage of by this clerk. I am glad there is another option (Auto Zone) next door because I will never shop there again!

Shoutout to Kevin at Advanced Auto Parts in Vermilion. I came in the other day with a battery that had a dead cell, and he was incredibly professional and kind throughout the whole process. Even though I’m fully capable of installing a battery myself, he offered to do it, and went above and beyond. He made sure the terminals were clean, double-checked everything, and verified the install was 100% correct. Super nice guy and great customer service. Highly recommend this location.

Will never shop at an advanced auto parts again. 3 weeks ago I bought $100 led headlights from this store and after the temperature dropped. One of the fans on the leds started to loudly scream when turned on. My lights were still under store warranty but the store aka Mike did not honor it. Most rude person I ever talked to. Acts like a know it all but he knows nothing, not even manners. He claimed that my head lights are fine and that its my truck thats the problem because its not made for l.e.ds lights even though every one else ive spoke to says other wise. Then he proceeded to try to upsell me on other random parts to solve the issue to make the l.e.d.s work with my truck. I told him I know its a faulty light,I dont want any of the other things your trying to sell me. i just want to get a new led light thats not defective. Long story short I went to a different store and BOUGHT the SAME headlights AGAIN and after replacing the 1 bulb guess what PROBLEM SOLVED. So long story short because of this store I paid twice for the same product while it was still under store warranty. And wasted a whole day of driving around to other locations that actually had the part available because Mike is like talking to a brick wall I've talked to 2 other locations today through the whole ordeal and by just explaining what was going on from this location the other stores both name dropped the exact person by name giving me the run around. So clearly this dude has a well known history of being a less than desirable individual.

Went in to recycle my battery. Instead, a staff member checked the charge and told me the $250 battery was still good. They put in on charge for me to pick up tomorrow as a "back up" battery. The staff went out of their way before taking the old one. Thank you!

I have always used Advanced Auto in Vermilion. So even with new autozone next door I was determined to keep loyal to Advanced. However i went in today for a rear turn signal / brake light. Not knowing about cars I usually go to counter for assistance on what part I need, I was greeted with a grumble then the unhappy salesclerk took car information to tell me he couldn’t tell me bulb number. He did say I could buy two lightbulb sets and return one of them. Trying to save time I asked is there another way to know which is needed. He proceeds to tell me to take bulb out from trunk is only way he will know. So off I went to attempt, this not telling me u need a tool to get trunk liner off. As I am trying to do this task the other gentleman working opens the the entry door to stoke and then lights a cigar while standing with door propped watching me struggle. So needless to say I still have no lightbulb! I guess my loyalty did not get me far.

I stopped in here on a rainy Sunday to have them check and see if my battery was dying or if it was my starter or alternator instead. It was my battery, but in the meantime my battery died completely. The men there helped to jump start my car so I could get home and gave me their best prices on a new battery and let me know I would need to take it to a mechanic or service center to have it changed because it would need to be reprogrammed. Amazing service from the whole crew!!!

Beware of this store if you actually expect free battery installation to mean they'll install the battery. Entered my VIN on the website, found a battery, and saw that they would install it but to expect an extra 45 minutes for installation. I ordered the battery and went to pick it up. The staff members were just sitting around upon my arrival. Immediately after seeing my vehicle, they said they couldn't install my battery because of "policy" as it was "complicated", although the website (which you would think would include policy) said they would and they advertise free installation very heavily. I got the strong vibe they just didn't want to do it so they were blaming policy. Taking my business elsewhere for sure and will definitely steer clear of this store in the future.

Took care of a manufacturer's problem with a wiper blade smoothly. Major auto parts manufacture had claimed compatibility with my vehicle but was not. This was no fault of Advance Auto Parts, but they identified the issue and quickly replaced the part with a product that would work with my vehicle. Great knowledge and service.

Looking for brass plugs for boat motor and joiner plastic extensions for boat speed meter. They had both were other car part store or ace hardware did not have either. I have been buying from them since they opened. I recommend this store.

My boyfriend went here to get my car a new battery. There was only one worker, Benny, and he was handling numerous phone calls from customers and also had people waiting in the store. He was very friendly and helpful despite having the extra stress of being the only one working.

I only shop here out of convienance. If I have to pick between Advanced and another auto parts store in the same location, I'd probably drive across the street. Example: I recently purchased 4 oxygen sensors for a vehicle. When the guy behind the parts counter was looking up the parts, he said "Do you need 2 upstream sensors and 2 downstream sensors as he looked through the parts inventory. I said yes, the 2 above the catalytic converter and the 2 below. He pulled the parts, I paid for them only to find I had 4 of the same part when I got home. I called down to the store, talked to the employee who answered the phone and he states, you were given 4 upstream sensors. I asked him to pull 2 of the downstream sensors. I then drive all of the way back to the store, go in and the employee sets down 2 more upstream sensors down on the parts desk. I immediately compare the numbers to the parts I am returning and state "these are the same part numbers that I am returning, these are the upstream parts. He jumps on the computer and punches some keys and the states "I'm really sorry about that, I'll go get the correct ones". After he was gone for 10+ minutes, he comes back and says "I'm sorry but all we have is the upstream sensors in stock. I then asked him to find another store in the area that has the parts... Back on the computer again and he states "the store down the road has 19 in stock and I reserved two of them for you." Off I go to the second store. Once again at the counter, I have two upstream sensors waiting for me. Now, I am starting to get upset. I whip out my phone, search the online inventory for the downstream sensor and sure enough, they have 10 instock. Just out of curiosity, I also search for the upstream sensor, 10 in stock. Same part number for both upstream and downstream sensor. The guy behind the parts counter just looked at me like I was stupid and says "duh.." I'll only shop here again if I am desperate, maybe not even then. You wasted my entire afternoon chasing parts that I had the whole time. It would be much better to list the single part as "upstream and downstream sensor" not have 2 seperate parts listed with the same part numbers. It would be less confusing for everyone involved. Thanks for making a customer feel dumb. You won't get my trust again.

No. We don't have whatever you need....but we can order it.... catch 22 with the brick and mortar stores. Guess I'd rather order it from my couch and have it sent directly to my door.

I have been living in Vermilion for 3 years. Advanced Auto being the only parts store closest to me. Every single time I happen to go there for any reason, I am met with rude behavior. I just came back from there for light bulbs. I wasn't even acknowledged until I spoke first. It's gotten to the point that I would much rather make the trip out of town to another shop because of the people at this location.

The CLERK was quite rude and laughed when he told me they are not doing code diagnostics for check engine lights for the time being. I completely understand that policy but he didn't have to be rude about it. I didn't get his name but he is a taller guy with dark hair. Fyi: if anybody needs this service done, AUTOZONE on Leavitt road in Amherst will still let you use their machine for free and they are open later on Sundays

My car battery died so I took it over to have it tested. They cleaned off the battery posts and tested the cells. It was determined that I needed a new one and they replaced everything for me. They had a machine plugged in the car so it didn't wipe the memory and I didn't have to reset everything. Thanks guys for the help. Especially since I had my 3yr old son in the car with me.
