If I could give no stars I would. This place lied to me and the police (oakwood location) I was trying to get my personal items out my car, mainly my baby car seat which they know and some work clothes. They told me my authorization from the police was fake even though they were on them phone with the police, after that didn’t work told me my car was towed by copart (Denise) in particular. After coming to find out the day I went there my car was NOT towed by copart and COPART had no knowledge until that following Monday. They tried to hold my personal items against me in lieu of payment or knowing my claim number in which I was involved in a hit and run accident and was waiting to hear more information before having to pay money out of my own behalf. By the way Is illegal in Ohio and I will be making a police report. All they care about is money and are liars! I have the whole conversation recorded by Denise and her nasty snappy attitude and the young man that was at the shop that day. Y’all will be held accountable!
Getting your car towed is never a good experience. But to capitalize on it takes a special kind bad business. What they don’t seem to understand is they may work with police when they tow cars but they are also a business. Over charging & so called “crash wrap” at $45 a window without seeing if the window goes up on its own is unethical & dirty business. Taking advantage of people who had maybe an expired tag or whatever and charging more than the car is worth to get it out because they know you don’t have a choice. Congrats on running a shady business I run several companies and will not be recommending this business to anyone in fact I will share this story with as many people as I can. I’m sure this review will not make a difference to them as they have top notch brand new towing trucks and couldn’t care less.
Well they called and stated we will be there. Waited an hour and a half called them back to find out they decided not to show up and also decided it was appropriate not to call and tell me. This is a company that will never get used again.
My truck broke down today in the 97 degree heat. Jack from Rich’s came in less than an hour to pick up my truck. He was the kindest and most helpful driver I have ever experienced. I appreciated his humor in a stressful situation.
On July 9th I was involved in an accident in my truck, the police department called out the towing company so I was unable to choose. The transmission cooler was damaged during the accident and was puking out transmission fluid, but the driver insisted on keeping the truck running during the recovery, effectively draining out my transmission, as far as I know the transmission is still good but i haven’t got a chance to drive the truck far due to damage, so it has yet to shift out of 1st gear. After the truck was loaded the driver spread out oil dry and did not properly use it or properly dispose of it, so there was still atf and oil dry on the ground days after the accident when i revisited the accident scene, but i still got charged for it. The truck arrived on their lot on July 10th after midnight and I picked it up on July 11th but I got charged for 3 days of storage. When I picked the truck up from their facility the front grill was missing even though it left the accident scene with the grill, I brought that up to the lady that runs the office and she basically told me it wasn’t their fault, I had a custom painted bow tie emblem on my truck that is now gone. They disconnected my battery when it arrived on their lot, I lost all my settings in my brand new radio and my truck being an older General Motors truck has a side post battery and the heads of the bolts were stripped out when I went to reconnect it and they charged me $90 to disconnect it, I work in auto shop and that is more money in labor that it costs to replace a battery.
My driver was Dan S he told me he was new to the company and went to every extent possible to help me with my issue. Supper nice and pleasant conversation while I was dealing with my issue 10/10 great fella and great company, THANKS DAN!! My invoice is 1142154 incase he gets compensated for this post!

I will never use Rich's Towing again. I requested a detailed invoice to understand why my bill was much more than expected, but "RJ" couldn't provide one and acted like he didn’t even know what a detailed bill was. All I got was a lump-sum total with no breakdown.
They also refused to unload my truck until I paid the full amount, which felt like extortion. On top of that, RJ was extremely rude and demanding on the phone, making an already frustrating situation even worse.
After this ordeal, I asked around and found multiple people who shared similar experiences and said they would never go back to Rich's Towing either. I honestly feel like I got scammed. Avoid this company at all costs.
I’m going to keep it short and sweet. They picked up my truck and took it to a garage to get looked at and we paid them for it. We wanted a second opinion and asked them to take it to a second garage. The second garage was 2 miles further than the original distance yet our bill was doubled the price. We asked them to send us an invoice and they sent us one with no details. They said they would not drop my truck until we paid the bill! Can you say highway robbery?
DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AND GET ROBBED PLUS TALKED TO CRAZY. I called this morning for a tow. The lady that worked at 8:40 am was real rude and nasty attitude. I called again to get another tow & this lady was extremely rude. Yesterday i got a tow from them it was $1,439 to tow my truck like 23miles to the pilot. So we paid that. I asked the guy HOW much to tow it to Detroit. Gave addresses he said $1,500 & some change.
I call this a.m. to tow it. The rude lady was like didn’t u call yesterday i said yes u guys towed truck for me. I was calling to get the price today since it’s not after hours pricing. She said $2,600. I said well last night they said $1,500. Her. It’s no way we doing that kept cutting me off said i’ll listen 2 the calls. Then come back like u called alot i’m not finna listen to them $2,400 take it or leave it. I said why are u being so mean I’m just tryin to give you business. Well u can talk to somebody else she said. Then a guy get on and say call somebody else.
Completely blew my mind the guy/dispatcher last night was great the tow driver was great but the morning staff I can’t believe i was treated that way. I hope. Business slows up for them and humbles the morning shift. I hate to leave a bad review cause last nights crew was awesome but this morning hurt how rude she was
Very professional, we were stuck in downtown Cleveland with our old 92 Toyota Dolphin camper dead. The employee secured everything and brought us to a trusted rv repair in Brunswick. Best towing management team I ever deal with!
The lady working in the office is VERY rude. Each time I tried saying something she cut me off. I noticed damage to my vehicle. She tried convincing me a crease in the paperwork was a check mark. A gentleman just as rude came over tried saying the same thing. A few moments later he came outside with yet another copy explaining this is a copy from the police department. Where did the first copy come from!?!? The second copy was totally different from the first copy & the original I signed at the police department. Every area was circled for having damage on this copy but the original & first copy only 2 things circled.
My car broke down because of high water, there wasn't an accident.
Also, where are the photos? A couple of their drivers said they take photos before every tow.
Regardless of how my car came to be there I was a customer. I should have been treated as such.
I wouldn't say it was the most complicated recovery, but it was certainly outside of the norm. RJ and Bob were absolutely fantastic. Collaborated with the three aircraft mechanics onsite, together came up with a plan to lift the aircraft and get it back on its gear. The process when absolutely flawless. Not a single additional scratch on the plane.
Often in plane recovery, it's the recovery process that totals the plane out. In this case, the plane will be fixed and fly again. Many thanks to these guys.
Me and a friend were on our way home on leave as active duty military to Michigan from Virginia and my truck broke down a officer called them out to us and we had a great experience with a couple veterans they did a great job towing my truck to a parts store after they got it off the truck they said thank you for your service and the tow truck driver and the dispatcher spilt the bill. Would recommend these guys to anyone thank you very much for service
I recently had a health issue on the Ohio turnpike. Rich’s was called and showed up in record time. They took me back to their yard so they could coordinate with the turnpike for a lane closure. The truck was leaning VERY close to the tipping point due to a soft shoulder. They got it upright and lifted back on the road. And I was able to drive off no issues. Thank you from the bottom of my heart guys!
The people I dealt with were pleasant enough, but they somehow misplaced my keys after my car was towed there following an accident. When I came back to retrieve personal items from my (totaled) car, I was just told to “go find it” out on the lot, which was very difficult considering the recent snowfall.
They were seeming to have some telephone problems, was hung up on and disconnected. But the tow truck operator was great everything went as smooth as possible, when dealing with half broken heavy equipment. Price was fair.
This review is for the Oakwood Branch. Even though they damaged my stabilizers, this operation is quite impressive!
Background: My trailer broke down on the Ohio Turnpike and Rich's has the contract for all turnpike towing in this section. So my travel trailer insurance company, Coach Net, contacted them. Two guys showed up in two trucks and they worked for an hour getting the trailer and car loaded onto a landoll. In the process they scraped the bottom and a stabilizer was bent. (It happens.) I was concerned about more damage but the two drivers insisted only one stabilizer was bent. Both guys (Jim & Blane) were professional and obviously experienced; they knew what they were doing (especially Blane). They took pictures of the damage they'd done and apologized & said they were sure Rich's would cover the cost of damage they'd caused. They towed us to a Walmart to spend the night, since that's what our insurer had arranged, and they returned the next day at 3 (an hour late due to storm).
This time Alvin was the driver. He, too, was quite knowledgeable - a real pro: professional & had tons of equipment and tools for handling whatever might come up. He worked methodically and with precision. He, too, apologized for damage that had occurred the night before. We followed him and after unloading the trailer at the repair shop (JTI), providing dinner recommendations, and scouting the lot to assure we were safe, he left us.
Now, here's what's most impressive! The next morning shortly after 8 a.m. another Rich's truck showed up, driven by Denise. She'd come to look at the stabilizer damage and arrange for that to be paid for by Rich's. She asked about what had happened and determined that not one but two stabilizers were bent. She worked with JTIs customer service to assure Rich's was billed for new stabilizers.
Imagine that! A company not only proactively agreeing to cover damage they'd done (without needing to be coerced into that) but actually finding and arranging to pay for additional damage we weren't yet aware of. And like Blane and Alvin, Denise was quite professional, courteous, and clearly knew her stuff.
But wait. It gets even better. When Rich's learned it would take an extra day to get the parts in for the stabilizer repair, the branch manager, Jay, stepped in to assure our comfort. So that we could explore Cleveland, he personally got our trailer when JTI was finished for the day and tired it to his branch location which has 24 hour security. He connected us to water and electricity and even turned a light on for us. He assured the night manager knew we'd be coming and would provide us access to whatever we needed plus coffee in the morning.
But that's still not all! He even had his guys wash our trailer (we'd been on the road for 6 weeks so it was filthy.) THAT's customer service! Thanks, Jay and Rich's.
