I stopped here as I was driving down the 95 corridor, so I came unannounced and in the middle of the winter. My best friend went to camp here and continues to take his family to camp here every summer so I knew when I was that close I had to stop by and check it out.
Absolutely, beautiful scenery overlooking the lake with mature trees and you could obviously tell it is very well taken care of.
I did not get to see inside any of the buildings as I was there unannounced but what a beautiful place and it appeared they were building a brand new bunkhouse. I was here in early January 2026.
Beautiful location for a special event on the shore of Lake Erie. Artisan wood tables, flexible seating, and a large kitchen make this ideal for medium to large groups. If following GPS, note that the rental hall in this photo is one driveway to the west of the main address.
We have provided music here for a wedding and have nothing but great things to say! June was an absolutely pleasure to work with and everything was fantastic! This brand new venue is amazing with such an awesome view of Lake Erie and the chapel is perfect for ceremonies! We highly recommend the Sheldon Calvary Camp!

Like others here, I was an enthusiastic Calvary Camper and then introduced it to my own child. I remember giving up a year's worth of my own meager childhood pay to get that extra week at camp. It was a wonderful, life-changing experience, and seeing the pictures makes me homesick - it looks fresher but still the same rustic but beautiful campus it was in the 1970s!
I, as a camper, love it here! The counselors are all so nice and helpful and the days are packed with so many fun activities that I barely get homesick. I've made so many friends who I look forward to seeing every year and can't wait to go back! They also won't force the religion on you if you're not Christian. It's my favorite 2 weeks of the summer!
never a dull moment. Dont know how many smiles, laughs, and memoriess have been made at this place. There are too many to count. Staff is calling my name.
This camp is amazing. Idyllic setting. Simple outdoor setting. Kind of a throw back! Kids love it so much up there. No iPhones, no videos, no tv. They are busy, outdoors, lots of activities. The counselors are wonderful young adults who are all former campers-like my daughter who went to this camp for years and years and now works there every summer! This year she was hired as senior staff and loves it! It’s been around since the 1930’s and has an excellent reputation. As camps go, VERY reasonably priced. It’s a great value and a great place for kids to enjoy a simpler time! Highly recommend!!
Family since 1976 my kids love SCC and have for years. In the last two decades this country has lost hundreds of good camps, SCC is thriving and that speaks volumes of the way this camp and community of families is keeping with tradition.
I spent my childhood camps at Sheldon Calvary Camp ... now my son travels from Dallas, TX back home to Sheldon Calvary Camp every summer and wouldn’t think of missing it for any camp here!!
Best vacation ever! I spent my childhood summers at Calvary and still go to family camp every year. Peaceful, loving people, great food and beautiful sunsets!?
Calvary camp is one of the best camps ever, they have a beutiful campus, amazing people and activities, and even though they are a religious camp, they don't force their religion on you, I highly suggest it.
I can not put into words how much this place has meant to my daughter. She started going when she was 8, now at 18 she works there. It's a wonderful place!
Calvary Camp is home, and I miss it. The Bishop Thomas Chapel at Saint Michaels by the lake is my favorite place in the world, and the people who gather there are family. Pretty glad I got the first Google maps review. Good night Calvary Camp!
Calvary Camp was a huge part of making me who I am. I went every summer from the age of 2-18 (Family Camp and Co-Ed). I looked forward to every summer, knowing I'd be going to my home away from home; a place unlike anything else in my day to day life. I would highly, highly, recommend going to anyone!
