This is absolutely an amazing place. I called on a Tuesday needing my 2007 Chevy Express 2500 work van looked at (only 3 weeks from when I purchased it) because the power steering and brakes went out. They said bring it in with no hesitation. After only two days they texted me and sent me a link with a multiple point inspection. Which under my assumption would be around 170$ based on what a comparable shop in Saybrook charged me previously on a 3500. Anyway…. Unfortunately they were not able to work on it for safety reasons and but didn’t charge me a dime!!!

i haven’t even got my car there, and the amount of support i have gotten from them so far is phenomenal!? car goes into tomorrow, will come back and update :) 9/05/2025-still my favorite automotive, and all the same support and love ?

This is a great place to have your vehicle serviced. We were visiting family and on the trip up north the condensate hose from the ac began leaking into the passenger side floor. We dropped it off and while they were working on the condensate leak and looking over the van for the ride home Garrett (the excellent mechanic working on our vehicle) found the sway bar links needed replacing. He did the above work and printed up an extremely thorough report of the work done including all the parts inspected for the trip home. We are so happy with their work we're considering having our van serviced by them every time we visit. They did a great job and the price was very reasonable for the quality of service we received. My wife says the waiting area was very nice and the staff was very professional. Which is probably what leads to my problem with them. I recently did an outer tie rod end, end links, and a few other repairs. I could have adjusted the alignment myself but decided it was time to have it dialed in. So I had my wife take it up. This is a 15 year old clunker car with 135k miles on it. The right front wheel was toed out from the tie rod end and the steering wheel was crooked. This caused the Traction control and ABS lights to come on. They found that the cheap china ball joints I did 20k miles ago weren't tight. They're not sloppy just not tight. And that the inner tie rod end was also not tight. No real danger here. I want to be clear on that. I was a mechanic for over 20 years and have driven some real death traps. This car is safe for my family to be in. There is no risk of the ball joints breaking on rt 90 at 70mph, the wheel slamming the fender, spinning and flipping the car. Because of that they refused to do the alignment. Instead of correcting the toe the best they could and getting the system to reset they sent her out in a more unsafe car. There is your insurance liability. Not in trying to make the car better but sending it out after you point out all the problems and doing nothing about them. Now they did go through an point out all the oil leaks and found a wire rubbing and things. They let her take a video for me which was nice. But it was all things I already know and am not going to put $1800 into a car that is already overvalued at $4k. I should have sent it to the hack that would have just done what I asked. Instead I had to spend an hour jacking the car up (which is a PIA) and adjusting the tie rod in with a tape measure to get it close enough. And they charged me $60 for that experience.

I had a great experience! They were able to fix my car quickly and even washed and cleaned the interior, which was a really nice and unexpected touch. Trinity was fantastic with communication, I was kept in the loop every step of the way. The price was very fair, and the quality of the work was excellent. Highly recommend!

Joe is the man! If you want a fair and honest assessment of your vehicles problems, and rental car at your disposal, go to Lake Erie Auto! 2 times is a pattern, 3 times I am convinced that they will do me right. I have had a string of unfortunate events with a few vehicles as of late, and if you are too, make an appointment with the Boss lady and tell them, Reverend Mitchell sent you. You will not be shocked with a bill in the end! Transparency at its best! They fixed fixed a transfer case on the work truck and the breaks and calipers on the Peter Pan minivan. They give you a detailed report and a scale to plan ahead for future repairs, I find this incredibly helpful. Remember friends, you get what you pay for. They may not be the cheapest ticket in town, but they are through Fair and Honest. Three things in my book, that equal a true win! P.s. Remember to fill the gas tank in the rental before returning.... it is just polite...thanks again JOE!

We took our car over to have a front-end issue/noise looked at and after not "getting to it" the first day they had it, they then went over the entire car & charged $175 for the estimate. This is after I told them on the phone that the car is just a beater and not our daily driver, so we were not sure how much we wanted to put into it. I expected a charge to look at it but almost $200 is outrageous. If you are charging that much for an estimate than you should be telling people up front.

I have been coming to Lake Erie Automotive for years and have had several of my vehicles serviced here. They are extremely professional starting 1st with communication. When you bring your car in for an unknown issue, They will either via a phone call or text message, explain in detail what they find and give you the price to fix the issue. They also go over the entire car and let you know any other finds that vary from a top priority fix to an upcoming fix. They guarantee and warranty their work and when you have your car serviced depending on the extent of the work you can wait in their amazing waiting area, offer you a ride in their shuttle service, and or even offer a loaner vehicle for no charge. This is as close to an A++ Business you can find.

I went to Lake Erie Automotive for an oil change because I recently moved to Conneaut, found a coupon in the mail and I used to work with Tom during his brief sojourn into teaching (I trust him). I have found my new mechanic and will only take my car to Lake Erie Automotive in the future. I was so impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, humor and honesty, as well as their incredible waiting area! It is so comfortable, clean, neat and has so many amenities, including toys for kids. I felt welcomed and comfortable, and I am not usually very comfortable in a mechanic's shop. They will drive you home if you need it, give you a free loaner and offer free safety inspections. I will gladly refer anyone and everyone to Lake Erie Automotive!

On 11/15/2023 as I was moving from NY to TX when my truck wouldn't start at the Ohio Welcome center on I-90. AAA came out but couldn't start it and they wouldn't tow it as I was hauling a 20' trailer. On a Google search Lake Erie Auto was the top result for repair shops near me. From the minute I called them I felt that they understood my wary traveler distress of not knowing who to call to repair my truck and get me back on the road again. Joe and his crew arranged a tow that would bring my truck and trailer to his shop in just under an hour. At Lake Erie Auto the shop took me right in (during lunch), diagnosed the problem (starter), gave me the estimate, ordered the parts and allowed me to wait in a waiting room that was Fantastic with free snacks, drinks and reading materials. Heck the bathroom was even spotless. While the crew was repairing my truck, I asked Joe if his crew could fix a few small things on my trailer, which they did. In about 4 hours from when I called Lake Erie Auto in distress I was hooking up to my trailer and back on my way to Texas. I will be forever indebted to Joe and the crew at Lake Erie Automotive for the Peace of Mind that they provided for me that day. Omg! These folks are life savers. I was traveling through Ohio on my way to northern Illinois when my jeep starting spewing smoke behind me. This was around 2p on a Thursday. I pulled over, searched for a mechanic near me. These guys came up at the top of the list and I called them to see of they can help. They said sure and got a wrecker to come and get me. Long story short, I blew the coolant thermostat. These guys had a new one delivered and installed and I was back on the road by 630! They were super friendly, their shop was clean and they have a very nice waiting room with free wifi (which was good since there was no Verizon cell service in the area).

I can’t begin to thank all of the Staff atLake Erie automotive for taking care of me during a scary moment today. I was passing through while out of town and I was loosing air in one of my tires on my truck very quickly. I began searching the closest place to assist me to get a text. Thank God it was Lake Erie Automotive. They got me in right away, it found that my wheel was cracked. They got me in right away to fix it so I could get back to Cleveland. They truly went out of their way this morning to get me back home safely! The amount of time they took to rectify the situation and the kindness they showed me throughout this process will NEVER go unnoticed. There was another loyal patron there at the time and she asked me how I came about finding them. I told her and she said I was very lucky and blessed to find them! Words cannot explain how good it made me feel to land in their shop!! Thank you all so much again, from the bottom of my heart!!!! I wish I lived closer to you to give you my business. Had a 170K check up with a Toyota Specialist and my car rides like it is new! They have a beautiful, comfortable waiting area with all the amenities. I was able to utilize a loaner car which was TOTALLY AMAZING (I do not know a local garage that offers that, even the dealerships do not). Thankful to the owners and staff for all of their attention.

Don't let the derelict condition of the parking lot fool you. This repair shop is TOP NOTCH. I've had two tires repaired there and my oil changed as well. No problems. The staff is expert and professional, but personable and funny too! What brought me back (besides the excellent service) was the waiting room. Varied choice of Keurig coffee pods, wrapped crackers and candy, fresh popcorn, comfortable seating, magazines, books, games for children, a play area, television, CLEAN RESTROOM -- I could go on and on. Rather than take advantage of their loaner car or shuttle service, I would prefer to wait there with a good book while my car is being repaired. These folks are my new mechanics.

I am so pleased with Lake Erie Automotive Service. They were very professional, explained all the work that needed to be done, and gave me a loaner car until the work was completed. My car is like brand new. They did a complimentary clean inside and out. I highly refer them to anyone who wants quality service and pristine care.

My vehicle needed some routine maintenance and it was my first time using Lake Erie Automotive. I took it there because my niece and son both recommended them....I was a little nervous. But they did excellent work and I'm glad they did a safety inspection because it needed a couple of things. I will be using them again!

All around excellent experience using Lake Erie Auto! Most notably the great communication and timeliness of the repair. As a business owner every minute of downtime costs money. Went to them for a second opinion on my car. They were patient, kind and took time to explain things and help me decide how to move forward with needed repairs. I wasn't sure if I was being ripped off by a competitor and they were more than happy to help me. Their service was reasonably priced and I felt they went above and beyond to help me. I will be using them in the future as I like the fact that they have loaner vehicle and shuttle service available. They also have financing available for the big jobs. Super convenient location, right on Route 20 in Conneaut just west of the hospital. Clean, comfy, free coffee while you wait, plenty of games for the kids to play if you have to bring them along, nice touch. Staff was friendly and caring and joking with one another, made for a nice atmosphere. They moved several cars in and out while I was there! I liked seeing them work so efficiently! ***** update- another great visit, thought I had a leak :( ended up all was good, they gave me great service and treated me right!!! I can't say enough good about these folks!

Went for the first time at their new location on West Main Road for an oil change yesterday. They did an amazing job with that building - Such a nice, cozy waiting area and I was extra-surprised with the large selection of toys and even a Little Tikes castle for my 2-year-old daughter to keep occupied with. I was also impressed with the safety inspection performed on my truck and the recommendations they made for future services; They actually made sense and weren't pushy like car salesmen. I'll definitely be back for future oil changes and other maintenance items!
