Run don’t walk. Unless you like run around playing games with money and surprise billing. Tell you total due few months later that was an estimate

We got separate cataract surgeries at this doctor owned facility and our experience could not have been better. Dr. Rusinek of wake ophthalmology sent us to Dr. Compton who did a wonderful job in just a matter of minutes. Our experience with the RN’s and anesthesiologists was at an equally high standard of professionalism. We would definitely go back.

I’ve had a stint placed for 2 kidney stones. Kidney stones have been widely proclaimed by mothers everywhere to be miles more painful than child labor. I was told the stint had to remain for 2 weeks before I could get it removed. When did the HOSPITAL schedule my surgery for? 4 days after the 2 weeks is up. I literally called and begged and got my physicians and ER doctors involved to try to get them to be reasonable and practice empathy and change my surgery date, but the cruciatus curse is not at all urgent to Holly Springs surgery center because technically you’re not dying, even if you want to, have lost all quality of life and come close every day to taking care of it, yourself.

I’ve had two cataract surgeries at this facility, one in 2022, and one a few days ago. I have no complaints whatsoever. The pre-op nurses, Priya and Cindy, were caring and friendly. HSSC is clean and patients are kept comfortable before and during their procedure. Warm blankets abound! I know some people have had negative experiences, but those can occur anywhere. I had a bad experience at Duke Medical once that was not the fault of the hospital per se. You’ll have to decide for yourself what is best for you in any medical setting. As for me, I liked the small, more personal nature of this surgery center, as opposed to a big hospital.

So a mixed bag in the review. The surgical procedure and care were excellent. I am well ahead of schedule on my recovery as a result. Billing is an entirely different matter. Issue one is that they will not tell you what you owe until the day before the surgery. This amount must be paid prior to the surgery. In my case it was the full deductible for my insurance and fortunately I have a credit card that can easily handle that. Issue two, when they submitted the claim they did not include this payment so my insurance paid the doctors first and the surgery center second. Because I hit my yearly max out of pocket I did not owe the entire deductible to the surgery center. We are now 8 weeks out from the surgery, the claim has been paid by the insurance company, my credit card is due and I cannot get the $2000+ refund. I have been told that the people in that area are out, on zoom calls, on lunch, no longer employed and that they are incorporating a new payment system. Now I have to file a complaint to the NC Consumer Protection Agency to try to get these funds returned.

Currently waiting over two hours for a surgical check in. Was initially taken to receive the hospital bracelet and sign papers (no vitals, BW, or a diagnostics performed at that time). My surgery was scheduled for 11:00 am with a 9:00 am drop off. It is almost noon and nobody has come to speak to us if as to what time surgery may be pushed back to. I was told there was some power issues in the back. Nobody has come to communicate anything in two hours. Most of the people in the waiting room are very hungry and thirsty because we are waiting for surgeries. If you have a choice in surgical centers, I would try to avoid this one. Extremely disappointed.

Awful experience. First, they give you a 16 hour notice when your surgery is scheduled. Good luck with your mandated driver not knowing when to assist. Pretty much have to block out the entire day. More importantly they absolutely will not answer the phone or return any messages left. A black hole. A black frustrating hole. I would genuinely like to know the responsibilities of the “pre-op” nurse if they can’t be bothered to respond to pre-operative needs. My doctors lame excuse was some patients call too often. I guess thus necessitating no communications at all.

I would like to thank the staff, especially Carla. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and my wife before my surgery. Thanks, especially to Doctor Lisson and the surgerical staff . Continue to let God use your hands and heart to help mend His people bodies. ?

My 17 year old daughter recently had surgery here and EVERY SINGLE PERSON we interacted with was knowledgeable and compassionate. Thank you Priya (RN), Meredith (RN), Marissa (RN), Kayla (Registration), Dr. Luther (Surgeon), Dr. Lee (Anesthesiologist) and the two Anesthesiology Assistants (I'm so sorry your names escape me). The surgery center is a pristine well oiled machine. Highly recommend.

I've had 2 procedures at this surgery center. I received excellent care each time. Everything went well from start to finish. All staff members were kind and compassionate. They want you to feel comfortable, and that is exactly what I received. I hope I don't need any other procedures, but if I do, I hope it's at this surgery center.

We had a good experience. I had knee surgery there. They were timely. They called about my anesthesia concerns with propofol. They were able to accommodate me with gas so I was not sick for 6 weeks. They had coffee k-cup in the waiting room which was really nice. Staff was friendly. Cindy preoperative and Stephanie postoperative took good care of me. Tyler from anesthesia was very accommodating with my concerns. Jason did a good job too. The entrance on google is wrong as of the time of this writing. I would recommend them. They were very professional.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER! Get someone to take you literally ANYWHERE ELSE! I wish I could give MINUS 10 STARS! HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER is physician owned. That maybe ok, if the "Doctors" that own Holly Springs Surgery Center were any good. They are not. Particularly Force fed by WakeMed, "Dr" Brandon Rubens is literally THE WORST person that represents themselves as "Doctor" EVER! At the inset of Emergency Surgery at 09/08/2023 WakeMed, I was taken aback by Dr BRANDON RUBENS, lack of professionalism and inability to communicate. Upon being forced to use HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER (Even after requesting numerous times for a different location, or even the hospital I went for emergency surgery and being told NO(!) I was never informed this was a physician owned facility (let alone being told it is partially owned by Dr BRANDON RUBENS), until I arrived for my second in a series of procedures 09/22/2023. Upon learning they are physician owned, Much of the lack of professionalism and lack of care and concern made total sense. Dr Brandon Rubens, forced me to leave before my scheduled procedure 09/22/2023. And did not receive medical treatment that is required. I asked when my scheduled procedure appointment time would be. (Even though, the procedure was scheduled two weeks prior,) they would NOT give me a time. It was required for me to have a caregiver drive me over an hour to the procedure, I was not given a time until the day previous. My caregiver needed to know the scheduled time to request off. It was not given. I was promised I would be given two days notice, I was not. Upon arrival and being drugged for my procedure I was told I would not have the procedure. Dr Rubens was the Dr that preformed my first procedure at WakeMed. He had access and discussed ALL my medication and my blood pressure and AFib. Curiously, Dr Rubens began to play dumb and act as if I was withholding info from him. When in fact, I had a pretty good idea (gut feeling) he was going to flake out and not do the procedure the day before even after we drove over an hour and they drugged me. Acting like a Spoiled Brat Dr BRANDON RUBENS said "I am not doing the procedure, infact I am discharging you and discharging you from my practice. He said Good luck! You have three months to get that stent out". (He placed a device in my kidney / bladder two weeks prior.) Knowing or should have known No other Dr would be interested in fixing his bad work! Or at best, be months out for scheduling if I could actually find a qualified Dr to preform the procedure. Upon leaving, Dr Rubens Exclaimed, "I am not giving you a note for work," forcing me to drive with a foreign device in me that upon an emergency or accident, I could rupture my internal organs and bleed to death without knowing. I called him out by saying I knew he was going to not preform the procedure. I said all that was theatre! A ploy! He chuckled and said a ploy!? And walked off. He gave me NO DISCHARGE papers or discharge instructions. He did not realize I watched the girls behind the desk and walking around, snickering, pointing at me, shaking there head no and giggling. Prior to Dr Brandon Rubens coming to visit with me. I took that that they were aware he was not doing the procedure on me that day. Do not ever pick DR BRANDON RUBENS for any procedure. Do not pick HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER. If you have any say. I did not and I am in morbidity due to the lack of concern and professionalism. His actions towards me were malicious and intentional. Knowing I am in extreme pain and bleeding blood out of my body. All my prescriptions ended on 09/22/2023, so no antibiotics. No pain medicine or any other medication for healing or pain suppression. These are all facts and accurate accounts. Sticking only to facts and no elaboration or bias interpretation. Any lawyers interested? Contact me for sworn deposition at any time. Do not use HOLLY SPRINGS SURGERY CENTER. DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT USE DR BRANDON RUBENS for anything. MINUS 10 STARS

My brother went in for surgery and was told to be there no later than 12:15 PM because his surgery was scheduled at 12:45 PM. We got there and had to wait some time for him to even register. Previous payment arrangements had been made for the down payment. He had the funds that were agreed upon with him. When he was FINALLY called to be registered, the unprofessional Registration Clerks were telling him he had to pay more than what was agreed upon. The clerk then called his wife and the entire call was unprofessional, condescending and entirely RIDICULOUS. Patients coming in for surgery should not be treated like this. The front office staff needs replaced with kind and empathetic individuals, and get rid of the rude, money seeking wenches that are currently employed there. 0 stars for the front office staff. When my brother was called back to preop, he waited back there from 1 PM until 3:35 PM before he went to the OR. NO ONE from the staff came out to tell me that he went in to the OR. Every time I went to the front desk to ask, no one was ever there. So from 1 PM until 4:30 PM, I had no idea as to what was going on. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. The preop and postop staff were standard. My brother told me that Cindy was fantastic, so thank you for taking care of him. The person that discharged my brother on the other hand could use some work. If I were not a RN, then there is no way anyone else would have understood the discharge instructions. Also, to tell a postop patient during the discharge instructions “You have been prescribed liquid Oxycodone to take every 4 hours.” Then in the next sentence he said “I would prefer for you to take Tylenol over pain medicine,” is completely out of line!! I mean really? How is that acceptable?? Unbelievable! I am beyond disappointed in the level of care this Surgical Center exhibits. Some serious work needs to done to this place. Such an unbelievably awful experience.

My son is 2 and had ear tube surgery and tongue tie surgery. He was very well taken care of in preop and everyone was so sweet. I trusted the staff fully with him and felt very comfortable. My only issue is that they pushed us out the door 10 minutes after my son had woken up from anesthesia. He was very irritated and confused and they told us we could leave and pushed us out the door while my son was throwing himself on the floor and screaming and still very distraught. I couldn’t get him in the car in 40 degree weather because he was still very upset. I thought it was unprofessional to not let him at least calm down for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Do better.

Absolutely do not waste your time going to this place it is beyond the worst place you could ever go if you want to live through your surgery do not let them touch you especially Dr Rubens cuz they about worthless as worthless gifts on top of that you can just you can forget getting any kind of kindness while you're there they're so condescending it it's not even funny they act like they're God's gift to nursing and doctrine and then the lady at the front you can forget getting any kind of emotion out of her she is about as simple and common as come and gets

I took my son here for a surgical procedure, and the front staff was beyond condescending and extremely rude. I have a mask exemption from a Duke University medical doctor. Even though they took a copy of it, they would not accept it. So I put on a face shield, and they came out and told me I had to leave the building. In the meantime, two other people in the waiting room had their masks off while they were eating food. The inconsistencies, right in their face, that I pointed out, angered them to the point that they kicked me out. I do have two videos to back up and prove what I am saying. To be clear, the manager - who did not give me her name - is the one who kicked me out, when I refused to turn off the video. Also to be clear, I did not videotape her face, just her voice. So now I'm sitting in my car, while my son has no support. I sit here literally thanking God, that He is always with us.

I was contacted by a member of the Holly Springs Outpatient Surgery Center on Wednesday afternoon (08/19/2020) at 3:41 p.m. to advised me that my required COVID-19 test results came back negative. She advised me that I needed to be at the facility at 7:15 a.m. on Friday morning (08/21/2020) for my procedure, which was scheduled for 8:45 a.m. I confirmed with the staff member that they in fact needed me there 1.5 hours early and I was advised “Yes be here 1.5 hours early.“ Upon my arrival at 7:15 a.m. on Friday morning (08/21/2020) I was advised by a different staff member that I was there early. I explained to the staff member that I was told to be here at 7:15 a.m. (1.5 hours early) for a scheduled procedure at 8:45 a.m. I explained that I even confirmed that I was to arrive an 1.5 hours early. The staff member advised me that arriving 1.5 hours early is their common practice and that’s what they tell their patients to do. At this point I was very confused as to why she told me that I was early. She then checked me in and told me to have a seat in the waiting area and that someone would be out to get me to prepare me for surgery. At 9:00 a.m. I went up to the front desk only to be asked who it was that called me and told you to be there at 7:15 a.m. because they needed to be sure to speak with that staff member’s supervisor and also that the surgeon was running behind. At approximately 9:15 a.m. I was finally told by a completely different staff member that my procedure was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. I was still sitting in the waiting area. I had watched many other patients taken back for surgery who arrived after me and still I was waiting. At 10:05 a.m. I was called back by a nurse to be prepared for surgery. At 11:39 a.m. I was still in triage awaiting surgery. At approximately 12:00 p.m. I was finally taken into the operating room for the procedure. At approximately 2:00 p.m. I was discharged and sent home. I have never seen such a total lack of concern, let alone consideration for a patients/persons time. The front staff members were very inconsiderate and in fact rude when it came to their own mistakes made. The nurse who came and got be to prepare me for surgery was the only person to actually apologize for how I was dismissed by the front office staff. There is something seriously wrong with a Health Care Provider who is allowed to treat patients as if their time is not at all valued and gives multiple excuses as to why I was not seen at my scheduled appointment time. It’s really simple, take responsibility for your actions and admit your mistakes, people will be more forgiving and understanding when you do.

My husband had surgery for removal of kidney stones with Dr. Lisson performing the procedure. This is a beautiful facility with impressive nursing staff and service. We cannot thank you enough for attentive care both pre- and post-op. Communication was excellent. We left smiling!

I have had two surgeries at Holly Springs Surgery Center and cannot say enough about how fabulous Dr. Stone and his staff is at the Center. No one likes any type of surgery but the nurses are exceptional - knowledgeable, experienced and focused on the Patient Experience. The nurses put you at ease - like a Day Spa. Dr. Stone is beyond fabulous. I would highly recommend the Holly Springs Surgery Center even if you have to drive from a long distance - well worth the peace of mind knowing you are getting the best. Kudos to the entire Center.

Arthroscopic knee surgery. Unbelievable service from HSSC! Everyone was super professional, thorough and caring. Not only did I feel that everyone knew what they were doing, I felt that they really cared about me as a patient and they wanted to see that I got the best service possible. When I get my other knee done (as I'm sure I eventually will), I'll be back!
