Have been taking my WRX there for a while now. They know their stuff. Never had an issue with them and they always charge a fair price. It’s really hard to find anyone in Charlotte who knows how to work on a Subaru but these guys do a great job and have never upsold me something I didn’t need. If you have a Subaru or any car I would highly recommend these guys. Fair prices, honesty and speedy turn around time.
I have always had the best service from them, but I brought my car in for an oil change. Graham has always given me the price before he does the work. But not this time. I told him that if he had, I would have taken the car somewhere else that doesn't charge for the labor. He did give me 40 dollars for using synthetic rather than conventional, but he should have given part of the labor charge. Always ask him for what it would cost. If anyone thinks that 190 dollars is a little much for an oil change and 4 of my own spark plugs I believe you should question whether you want the service or not. He asked me to bring him 3 quotes for the same service. I didn't bother. I did however ask Toyota to check my brakes - his son told me that they were almost gone. Not true - Toyota told me this was a scare tactic. All I can say is judge for yourself.
We have been servicing our cars here for over 15 years and now our children's cars. They are fast, friendly and HONEST. Everything you want in a service company. Thank you Murray's!!!
My daughter took her car in for an air sensor code. She got a rough estimate around $500 give or take! It was an air filter problem!! And had to pay a very small amount of money for the repair!!!! Also picked her up to get her SUV back!! You all are absolutely amazing!!! We are blessed to have you!!

Three years ago, my Civic broke down on I-77. I had it towed to the nearest highly-rated shop, Murray's, where they diagnosed a faulty throttle body. They quoted me over $800 for the repair. That was a significant amount of money for me, especially considering I had bought the car for just under $3,000. However, since my car was already at their shop, I felt I had no choice but to agree to the price.
Looking back now, I realize that it shouldn't have cost $800. Just recently, I replaced the CV axle, brake pads, differential fluid, oil, and throttle body on my GX470, and the total cost was about the same as what I paid three years ago for just the throttle body on my Civic.
I havent even brought my truck here because the guy was honest on the phone and said it would be a waste of my money and time. He told me to take it to a different shop for a variety of honest reasons.
Its VERY rare you get honesty like that and not "yeah, just bring it in and let us test it and inspect it" which means charging me $$$ just to make money. I trust this place and will be bringing my car here in the future.
We were traveling through on a family trip and had a wheel bearing go out. He was the only mechanic in the area who didn't push me off, instead he got me straight in and had me back on the road in less than two hours. Thank you!

Quick and reliable. They will also help you figure out what's a priority when you're on a budget. I'm going back but the gentleman let me know what needed to be done ASAP and what could wait another week. Other mechanics will push you to do more and make you feel uncomfortable.

I need not give more acclaim to my TRUSTED mechanic's wonderful MURRAY'S AUTO WORKS in Cornelius, NC. Graham took care of my beloved old Mustang for four years, always with precision attention to the car's needs and MY pocketbook. He highly recommended a new Avalon I was looking at, and of course he was right! In a perfect world, EVERYONE should be fortunate enough to have access to a place like MURRAY'S AUTO WORKS.
I used Murray's because my good friend said that she and her husband used them and they were great. She stated that they where reasonable and they had never had a problem. So, going by her word I called. I took my car to have a major issue fixed and was quoted the price. I was shocked because of how high it was. I needed the work done because it was my only mode of transportation. I thought the issue was fixed and later realized when I turned the air on all I got was heat. Both the air and heat worked before I took my car to them. I called and called. I left messages and I finally called and was told to bring it back in. The young guy told me he was sorry he didn't hook up the air back up. No problem so I thought. So it gets cool and I turned the heat in and only got air. I called and was told to bring it back. I called and to see when I could bring it and asked if it would cost me anything and was told yes another $90.00 . I already paid $555. and change.Check engine light code says it is engine coolant over temperature well the radiator was what I had replaced. This is my expereince. I wish anyone else the best but I want use them again.
Best place to get an honest answer about getting your vehicle fixed and they only charge you for what really needs done, they don't and won't take advantage of anyone, that's not the way they do business. I've been in the industry for 35+yrs and this is the only place I will allow my family and friends to take their vehicles to be fixed.
He is one of the few mechanics I trust. He is both honest and competent. He notices things, and will recommend needed repairs you might not have known about, but never exaggerates danger or tries to sell you things you don't need. His labor rates are not the very lowest around, but they are reasonable. I would rather pay more in the short term here than lose money in the long run paying a lower rate. Most recently, he replaced my ball joints. I have also hired him to do brakes and work on the exhaust. I would gladly use this shop again.

What's not to like.
When I was in my teens I was a victim of sheisty mechanics and shotty work. Since then I followed a motto, "if you want something done right, then do it yourself". I've been working on my cars since then. Unfortunetly I'm not a car guru, I don't have specialty tools and I don't have time to fix every car. So where do I go from there? Finding a reputable, honest, and fair priced shop. Murrays Auto Works is definietly one of them. I've had my mothers BMW X5 and my grandmothers Mazda Tribute repaired there and haven't had to go back for the same issue. Overall their knowledge and courtesy instills confidence and yields quality work. I've recommend this shop to others and hope you try them too!
Car tranny went out on weekend trip - a long way from home. they weren't open at the time - so called Monday to explain the situation. Graham was extremely accommodating - check out car & diagnosed for nominal cost, allowed it to stay there for far longer than i hoped while i arranged to tow it back home to tranny shop that had fixed it the prior time a few years earlier. Very friendly & honest, upfront with my options regarding fixing the car.
I really appreciate their honest way of doing business. It is a rare trait to find these days.
I have taken two vehicles to this shop and have yet to have Murrey's work on them.
The first was a 67' muscle car that they diagnosed with no compression in an intake valve, which will cost me thousands to fix some day but they charged me shop minimum to deliver the bad news.
The second was a 2000 dodge truck with rear-end problems. They diagnosed the problem and after researching on my behalf determined it would be cheaper for me to have the dealer do the repairs rather than they. They put the rear-end back together, charged me ZERO dollars and allowed me to have the truck towed away to the dealer where my enema began... $1300 later it drives exactly the same as before but with less noise. A louder stereo would have been cheaper, but, I digress... These guys are honest and trustworthy. We all need a Doctor, Lawyer and Mechanic in the family but until then, we trust reviews...
