We went to the mountains, and it was absolutely beautiful! ?️ The waterfalls were stunning, and the mountain rivers — with their clear, rushing water — created such an incredible atmosphere. There’s a special kind of peace you feel there, surrounded by nature and the sound of flowing water. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, breathe deeply, and just feel the energy of the mountains. ??
Amazing view during fall season. Couldn’t go near the waterfall. Several viewpoints. Easy to moderate hiking. Trail was rough. Be prepared to burn some calories
Just gorgeous. I took the first steps down on the way up to Erwin path to capture these views. That spot (forgetting the name) has a better view than Erwin
Very beautiful place. Highly recommend. Please remember to carry out your garbage. Very peaceful and serene. We only did the short hike to the first falls. It was so pretty
Beautiful waterfalls bring friends and family make it a special day. Also bring a picnic.
Great place to make memories. Moderate hiking , with an incline I suggest a walking stick
A must see if in this part of North Carolina. the hike down to view of the falls from the bottom is challenging and the trail along the topside less so.
It's close to Brownsville Mountain Lookout/lights. Also several great campgrounds nearby.
If you go in the summer you can swim and cliff jump into the pool below the falls.
Fairly easy, short hike to the lower falls. There are steps in some places so it's not wheelchair accessible. It was raining off and on when we went so the trail is muddy in places.
Awesome! The top of the falls is about 1\2 mile in from the visitors center. This is a relatively easy walk along a wide groomed path. There is one long flight of stairs down to the falls. The two higher observation points are straight up another 1\2 or so.
Beautiful place to go explore and go for a hike and stuff this place is really nice and well maintained if your in the area definitely take a hike to the falls it’s not to hard basically it’s really easy to hike to plus the trail is really maintained.
Made the small hike from the parking lot to the falls. 0.4. U have the option of doing two more hikes uphill to the view the falls from above. We only did the reg bike as our time was limited , but it was worth the hike. Nice area to just sit and relax and listen to the strong, very strong current. Def a must do if you are in the area.
Ps the hike is super easy. A little uphill and little down hill, nice clean path.
The waterfalls deserve five stars, but this place is overwhelmingly overrun with tourists these days, which is so distracting from the natural wonders. I had to wait in line to enter the viewing areas, and no photos of the falls that were without civilians. On the other hand, it's not very difficult and easy access from the Blue Ridge Parkway and has safety barriers for those with children.
I only went to the small falls but not looking at the pictures I should have made the extra hike to see the whole thing. It was still pretty tho with the ice.
I recommend parking at the linville falls visitor center so that you can use restrooms there. If you follow what Google maps tells you, then it'll show you a different parking lot without restrooms. About 0.5 miles to the waterfall from the visitor center or the other parking lot that Google puts you at. 3 different views. Add another 0.5 miles for each different view. You can't touch these waterfalls because of how rapid the water is.
Great hike and beautiful view! There's plenty of trails to choose from to see the falls from the top or make your way down to get up close and personal! It's quite the decline. Wear hiking books for the trails are rocky and muddy from the humidity.
