The earth is filled with the glory of YHWH. This little Overlook is right off the Pisgah Forest Road, that you enter off of Highway 276 I think. It's a 4-way intersection. There is a Hogs Wild BBQ, there is a Shell gas station at the intersection in which you turn to go into Pisgah National Forest. It's very easy to find so you're not going to get lost. Again, this is just one of the many ways to get to this overlook, but this is the most direct way, via the closest town. A Takes a good 30 minutes or less to get to the top, and at the top is what you see. The Overlook. Don't worry if it says that the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed, that is not affect the fact that you can go to this overlook. About 1,000 ft away is the barricade preventing you from accessing the Blue Ridge Parkway. I guess it's closed in the winter. I never knew that, anyhow the views from up here are spectacular. And if you have a drone, it's even better! Enjoy YHWH's creation and give HIM all the glory. Worship the Creator not the creation!

I visited early Saturday morning before the fog had fully lifted. The views of the mountains peaking through the fog were phenomenal

Beautiful overlook on the Blueridge Parkway. So happy to be able to see this overlook now that parts of the parkway is open.

Nice area to stop. Uphill walk to the top is a little strenuous, but has places to stop along the way. Beautiful view at the top.

A beautiful view of the Pisgah National Forest along the Blueridge Parkway just outside of Brevard, NC. Well worth the stop. Bring a blanket, there are grassy areas so you can have a picnic with hundred mile views!

One of the best overlooks on parkway to watch the sunrise. May get crowded during holiday weekends so recommend getting early to secure a nice spots. Same goes for securing a spot for taking photo or hyper-lapse.

North Carolina is God's country. It's evident if you've ever driven the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you haven't been blessed to experience a drive in the clouds, without experiencing a natural fear of heights, here is the place. Sure, you're among the clouds, but there is so much more to riding along the ridge from Virginia, through North Carolina. South of Asheville, is a stretch that welcomes onlookers and sightseers from near and far. And as I have heard, the breathtaking gasps of even the greenhorn of mountain travelers. Just a day before my latest venture along the Blue Ridge, rain put a damper on most travel plans, but as my wife of three years put it, she wanted to "See the clouds". So on a mid morning jaunt up in the mountains, we found our clouds amid a very late summer Parkway excursion. We live not far from the winding road, but life tends to get in the way on occasion, so wandering for a few hours in our neck of the woods is an elixir of peace and tranquility that can't be found in the city. Pounding Mill Overlook is an example of how awestruck the sheer beauty of a balding rock can be. You'll find granite cliffs along the Parkway if you seek them, but there in the distance, a smooth surface, trimmed by the hands of God, stands out to all that pass by. Looking Glass Rock, best seen in the morning or early afternoon for visual purposes can be inspiring and creative among artists and poet's pens. Autumn approaches and the green leaves of summer will give way to a bright and colorful array of red, orange, and yellow before the curtain falls into winters mundane hibernation of foliage. Whatever the season, it never truly gets dull. It just brings a greater appreciation for color and life along the Blue Ridge and about the vast wilderness in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Sure, there are plenty of sights to see if you choose to take one of several exits along the way. Restaurants and accomodations to pamper your every need. As you may feel hunger pains in your travels, and your mouth waters for that perfectly grilled steak, juicy and tender, or the crispy crunch of southern fried chicken. Whatever you seek to cater to your hunger pains, you shall find in due time. But before you surrender to what drives your body, may I encourage you to feast your eyes upon the soul of the mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, a little slice of heaven, right here in our own back yard. You'll surely not regret it, and yeah, you can thank me later. See y'all up in the clouds.

Gorgeous spot, almost 270 deg lookout. Would definitely recommend as the perfect picnic location. No tables or amenities, but the view is amazing.

Beautiful overlook, and a nice moderate hike to get the blood flowing! A little bit of trash but we cleaned up what we could stick in our bags. If you're looking to stretch your legs for a bit this is a good spot.

It’s nice to have a place to pull over and see these beautiful mountains. Here again and I love it. Nice pull off for about 20 cars.

Being from Michigan, we really don't have these absolutely stunning views like on the Blue ridge parkway. We road the full 469 miles of it and it never ceased to amaze us. We were totally blown away by the beauty of it. Pounding mill overlook was such a beautiful place to stop and get some pictures.

Just like all the overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway this is just another beautiful one. Some of them very as to your enjoyment of the view by the time of day and also if the sky is clear. Easy access on and off of the Blue Ridge Parkway so it's too easy not to stop and look! We stopped it almost everyone and if the view wasn't just what we wanted we just moved on to the next one.

A must visit overlook for sunrise. Fog rolling over the mountains is an amazing sight. Mt Pisgah campground , Pisgah Inn and Asheville are nearby attractions. Several popular hiking trails, ranging from moderate to difficult, are easily accessible from the campground. The Frying Pan Trail leads adventurers 1.6 miles (2.6 km) south to the Fire Tower at Frying Pan Mountain. Hiking north on the trail you'll arrive at the Pisgah Inn and from there, the Buck Spring Trail leads visitors through the thick hardwood forest and along rocky terrain to the Mt. Pisgah Parking Area. From the parking area it is a 1.6 mile (2.6 km) uphill trek to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Here are some of my pictures.
