Some stuff didn't have prices, and get overwhelmed finding out the prices is way higher then expected.. got overcharged on a few items then she claimed they was..didn't buy them.. I stick to a lower prices store then this store now.. cause they get this stuff donated but expect a expensive prices out of it..not like the store used to be in the beginning...

Have been there twice and love the place. Enough room between the aisle and things are organized by color and type. Also, great selection of goods and they change up the stuff regularly! Will be back soon

The best thrift store in the triangle in all three categories 1) quality of cause it supports and its inclusionary principles. 2) quality of inventory - incredible book, art, media electronics section 3) price - as others have kept getting crazy with their prices, scrap has maintained a great price point

Extensive thrift store with gender neutral fitting rooms. Can find some very nice things here occasionally. They have jewelry, a small selection of furniture, adult and children clothing and shoes, Kitchenwares, pet items, books, music and some household items. People are very nice.

Used to enjoy going here but not sure why all clothes are now intermingled. I now only go here to browse electronics, housewares and books. Best book selection of any thrift store

Bathroom is better here! No odors! A lot of variety here for everyone from kitchen stuff, bedding, bathroom decor, clothing, light fixtures, picture frames, wall art, shoes, chairs and much more. Lots of books to choose from. The book selection was the better area since the music wasn’t blasting back there. The music was absurdly loud, and not very good music either.

This used to be my favorite thrift, but it feels like it's not worth looking through the racks now. They've opted to mix all the mens' and womens' clothes together, which -- especially combined with organizing by color rather than size, and how thrift stores just naturally tend to have more womens' clothes -- makes it difficult to find mens' clothes in the correct size. It also feels like the prices on housewares have gone up a bit. Still pretty decent prices on housewares and fantastic prices on furniture, and a great, well-organized book section, but if you wear mens' clothes, going through the racks is going to a massive time waster now.

My favorite thrift store! Great prices, great selection, friendly staff -- and a huge plus knowing you're giving a new life to old clothes and keeping them out of the landfill.

As a thrift store should be. Affordable prices, with an incredible book selection.

I love to rummage through the HUGE selection of DVDs from time to time. Heck, you can get a whole season of a TV show for $1.50!

I absolutely love this thrift store in Durham! It’s a hidden gem filled with unique finds, creative supplies, and all kinds of treasures you just can’t get anywhere else. The store is organized in a way that makes browsing fun, and every visit feels like an adventure. The prices are super reasonable, and the staff is always kind, welcoming, and helpful. Whether you’re into crafting, upcycling, or just love hunting for one-of-a-kind items, this is the place to go.

I love this place! As far as thrift stores go they actually look out for their employees unlike most thrift stores in tbe area that only claim to due so under the guise of being godly. Gotta say tho to the review from hepptino, I'm a little more concerned with leaving your child in a hot car vs waiting your turn in line to donate smh

Best thrift store with a chance to find fun things but oddball staff and sometimes rude. Wanted me to wait to donate one box with my child in a hot car while some woman donated an entire truck full. How ridiculous.

This is not the same Scrap Exchange anymore, sadly. Poor selection, and very aggressive with their closing messages, which were loud and asked patrons to check out by :55. I went out to my car to fetch my wallet, and at :53 the doors were already locked. We won’t be returning, given the general spirit of inhospitality.

Really like this thrift store. They have a lot of stuff. This was my first visit and I'm definitely going back.

The book, cd, record, and cassette tapes section was worth the visit. Stop and visit you might just find your hidden gems.

Donations hours are erratic. Its been a waste of my time to try to donate. The vm says to set an appointment but there is no way to do so. Thrift on Durham-Capel Hill freeway (across from Target) is always open and happy to accept donations.

I stopped in here thinking it was the Scrap Exchange and was sorely disappointed. Now, I walked across the parking lot to the Scrap Exchange and everything was fine. Once I realized this was a thrift shop, I adjusted my expectations. It was a really rough place though, I felt like. Everything seemed super dirty and pretty chaotic as far as organization is concerned.

I used to really like this place because it’s partnership with the scrap exchange. Though, I feel like in the attempt to elevate the thrift, it has gone done hill. I used to be able to come in and find great clothes but now, they are organized by color and not size. Due to this, I won’t dig through close because I know that chance of finding plus size or proper fitting clothes is impossible. Now this wouldn’t be terrible if it was balanced out by the quality of their wares section. Unfortunately, I never find something good quality without it also having a high price tag.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. 1) The clothing is out of order and all mixed up. Why have rack markers showing clothing sizes if the clothes aren’t sorted accordingly? It was impossible to shop for a big-and-tall man because maybe 1 in 15 shirts in the men’s XXL was the right size; the rest were every other size BUT XXL. It’s literally on the clothing tags??? Same with women’s 12 bottoms, although that rack was better. Also, 2) There are only 2 changing rooms for the whole store, so I couldn’t try anything on due to the wait. I’ll stick to Durham Rescue Mission, thanks

I love this thrift store. The book section is incredible and they have a lot of clothes. I bought my favorite lightweight down coat here for $5. And love that the dressing room is open.

There ARE hidden treasures here, & I typically stop by a couple of times a week - and I certainly buy plenty - but I do wish the "baseline" quality was a higher level. The books & media section is GREAT, furniture - not so much. Staff is awesome & friendly!

I have come to this location several times. I have seen a book person bring box sets that are high dollar out and hand them directly to certain customers. I say certain customers because I have seen the same person twice get great items. So unless you know someone odds are you won’t find anything special.

i cannot believe how well organized and wonderful this place is. incredible vhs/dvd selection. records. great silverware and household items. we spent two hours perusing books and things and we never even got to the clothes! the prices are fair and the staff rocks.

Huge thrift store with a variety of items. The books section alone is worth the visit, and they are organized by genre so it’s easy to browse through. They have a clean bathroom and weren’t too busy when I went. Definitely my favorite thrift store in Durham.

Prices seem to be going up as is the trend with many thrifts, and the sale colour wheel no longer applies to clothes (which you'd think they'd want to move faster) and some jewelry, but they're still miles better than Goodwill and bargains can be had if you look - and there's plenty of square feet to search! Whether you're looking for a vegan cookbook, some DVDs of your favourite show that's off Netflix again, or a nice blouse for a job interview, chances are you'll find it here. Where Scrap Thrift really shines is in the staff, always keeping shelves stocked and as tidy as possible, answering questions, and keeping checkout lines moving as well as they can. The checkout staff are a particular benefit to Scrap, with warm welcomes and a keen memory for regulars. I always appreciate a heads up to check out freshly restocked books when I walk in (though my remaining bookshelf space disagrees)! It can't be easy keeping a space this size running smoothly and I hope management appreciates the positive impact of the employees who represent the business in-person to the customers.

Usually, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. Today, however, when we ate there it was disappointing. We ordered the 3 meat plate. Smoked Turkey with two servings of sliced brisket. They gave a generous portion of turkey, but were very stingy with the brisket. We got three slices of brisket, then they cut those in half and called that two servings. Unfortunately, there was such a thick layer of fat on top we had to cut that off and were left with less than half of actual meat. The potato salad has so much filler in it now, there's hardly any potatoes. They did give my husband an extra large serving of beans though. For $18, I would appreciate brisket with way less fat on top. Sometimes you get brisket with very little fat. It's hit or miss. The employees are always very nice and it's always very clean.

love going here. out of all the thrift stores I've been to, this always has the best selection of everything possible. found quite a few great dresses here, antique books (and new books!), there was even a full suit of armor there - bikes, furniture, jewelry, old dolls, cooking supplies, literally everything. best thrift store I've been to ever

One of the great treasures of Durham! Reuse and recycle heaven. An environment friendly business and an inspiration to be emulated and admired worldwide.

A vast treasure trove of wonderful delights. I come here for books (the largest well organized book selection that I have ever come across for budget prices) and gym bags, sometimes I come for games to contribute to "Game Night".
