This mechanic created a nightmare situation for us. We had a dead truck that was towed, and instead of storing the load properly, he placed our product outside and charged us a fee. After we paid in full, he turned off his phone, stopped answering calls and emails for several days, and we eventually had to involve the police. When we finally recovered the product, it was completely destroyed from being left outside for days. This company is unprofessional, uncooperative, and caused significant financial loss. His name is Robert. Never, ever use this company. They are not trustworthy and operate like scammers.

Robert needs to be your FIRST call! I was having difficultly getting my truck started. I called around to almost everyone in and outside Durham with no real help or outrageous prices. Feeling frustrated and on the verge of giving up, I made one more call and got in touch with Robert. He was professional and honest with his expertise and services and even offered to do a remote assessment. I took him up on the offer and was blown away how he expertly walked me through the problem and how to properly diagnose the issues. I couldn’t have come across a better mechanic to call in my time of need. If you need assistance, I am honestly telling you, your first call should always be to Robert. He is the man and the expert!

My husband had an urgent issue with his truck — it wouldn’t start, and there was a big spark when we tried to connect the new batteries. After calling around to several mechanics, we were fortunate to find Robert. He offered to walk us through the problem over FaceTime, and his support made all the difference. Robert was incredibly professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He guided us step-by-step with clarity and confidence, and thanks to him, the truck is up and running again. It’s rare to find someone very kind and competent, especially willing to assist remotely. We’re truly grateful for his help and highly recommend him to anyone in need of an expert mechanic. ⸻ Let me know if you’d like to personalize it more with your husband’s or your names or details about the truck.

I would highly recommend not allowing this company to service your vehicle/s. They don’t communicate with you, they don’t deliver the repairs in a timely manner, and they constantly dodge your calls for an update. My vehicle has been there since April, the last part required to complete the repair has been in since early June and they still haven’t completed the work. Their shop is behind a locked gate, far from the entrance, so you may not even be able to get in touch with them in person for an update or to retrieve your vehicle. Use these guys at your own risk and extreme inconvenience

These guys are a bunch of unqualified crooks. Took our truck there for a spindle and hub repair. Repair was finished on 6/19/24. Got charged over $3k, one day later, everything fell apart. They reused old parts, when we got charged for new parts, other parts were missing. Seal blew again, all the hub oil leaked out again, nothing was tightened. Had to tow our unit. They are not answering emails, calls, texts. Do not go here to get repairs done. Amateurs.

Never ever go to this place!!!. Look at the review before anywhere you go. Do you think all these reviewers are wrong? No it’s impossible, believe it or not all reviews are correct in place . In short this place will ripe you off. I went to get my trailer inspection, I didn’t ask at the beginning how much they will charge me for only trailer inspection because it’s obvious shouldn’t be more than $100. A mechanic come and walked around the trailer said this is new trailer man nothing wrong with it. He went to office after few minutes he brought inspection letter written by Marker, still I accepted and asked him how much is it? He said $300, I asked isn’t that too much? He said ok pay $280 still am like why he said that’s what we charge for inspection. I paid &280 very bad payment method phone to phone and even I have not received receipt in my email. Do NOOOT go there

Have a dual axle 10k lb travel trailer. One of the wheel bearings catastrophically failed. I was stuck on the side of Hwy 15. Called at 6:40 a.m., and they answered right away, offering advice for how to get the trailer safely to the shop on 3 wheels, which was 8 miles away. The mechanic, Jason, was top-notch. He worked hard to find an exact match replacement axle and worked with me to take care of obtaining the parts directly from the OEM with no extra markups. As soon as the axle arrived, the work was completed in a timely manner. He also inspected the bearings of the other axle and repacked them to make sure that they were not at risk of failure as well. The trailer now tows great - the axle alignment seems perfect. It tows better than before. Also, the trailer brakes work again! - before I was getting a warning light about the heavy trailer brakes being disconnected. Jason was friendly, knowledgeable, and great to work with. He was honest and had excellent customer service - quick to respond to texts or calls with questions and status of the repair. Overall, it was a great experience. I will be back for any truck or trailer maintenance needs.

Honest???? Those are bots saying. This is the most scamish mechanic I have ever dealt with. I can’t even tell the whole story because it would be to long to read. Long story short. The owner tried to get me to do insurance scam so that he could take my (running f250) keep it, fix it, sell it for a a lot higher price. And leave me on stuck with no vehicle. When all I actually needed was 2 batteries. Not only the worst mechanic shop but the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Will never ever return. And would never recommend this company to anyone unless your the type that wants to be defrauded over something minor. Go to this place at your own risk. I even had to call the city of Durham police 👮♀️ just to even get my truck back. And that’s after they lost my key for almost a week. Read the other bad reviews about Robert and this company on my mother they are telling the truth. On top of that they never answer the phone. You will have to actually go there each time just to check on the status of your truck. Worst experience of my life.

Absolute worst experience ever. Robert, the owner, is a deceitful and unreliable person. He promised a quote within 48 hours and that my vehicle would be taken care of by the end of February(I dropped it off at the beginning of the month). None of which happened. It was impossible to reach him or his staff, and when I did, all I heard was, "I don't know." This is not a business worth your time or energy. Instead, I highly suggest taking your rig to Carolina Diesel Doctors , who are friendly, easy to reach, and very helpful in assisting your needs with knowledgeable and hard-working mechanics. Again, save yourself the headache and frustration. Don't go anywhere near Robert and his failing incompetent business at East Coast Diesel. The level of professionalism is absolutely devoid.

Although we had a rocky start the owner Robert M. was awesome! He stayed past his time fixing my work truck and getting me back on the road to book more runs. I recommend highly recommend this company just tell them James from AJ12 Trucking sent you and watch them work miracles!!

My company is J3 Transport. Me and my husband have been coming to East Coast for years. The customer service here is impeccable. Shirley, Stacey, and the east coast crew have done a phenomenal job with my truck. The services have been diagnostic, oil leaks and turbo replacement. Because of them my truck is better than ever.

This was the most unexperienced group. Go the other way,my truck stayed there 10 days and they finally figured out the problem. Charging me for there stupidity. They changed 2 filters which takes 15 min ,and labor on changing fuel pump (I bought the pump)991 dollars. I'll NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN Owner called himself and fixed the problem and he was very nice and understanding. I like to see this in a business

It seems like the one stars are catching up to the 4s. We can't say which service we used since all we got was a wrong diagnosis for $323.30. Our diesel Ford 7.3 was running rough. They diagnosed it needing injectors 7 & 8 and service would cost almost $3,000.00. We decided to get second opinion, thank God, or truck might need more service like other reviews. We took it to Capital Ford in Hillsborough and they diagnosed it as inner harness coming loose from valve cover gasket connector and gave us a quote for half what East Coast Diesel wanted. When I showed the Capital Ford receipt to lady in East Coast office her remark was we would have found that out after w e took it apart. For $323 dollars they should be able to diagnose as well as Ford dealer. We were told manager would contact us soon as he returned to office, but he never did. Hope this is warning to others. Avoid this place!

I really wish we had a better experience with this company. People on the phone were polite and very responsive but the quality of the work the mechanics do does not match the price they charge. After paying about $3.6K in repairs, the issue we brought it in for was still not fixed. They gave us another quote to do more work on it but they were not sure if that would ultimately fix the issue. We were just not comfortable with paying a few more thousand to let them TRY and fix it. I'm not sure if it was the lack of knowledge of the mechanics or lack of confidence they had in fixing the issue but it was not a comfortable experience. We took the truck into a well known dealership that same month that fixed it, it's been several months now and have not had any reoccurring issues. We would not recommend this company based on our experience, unfortunately. 2 stars is for the front desk - thank you for being responsive and professional.

After reading the reviews of this place I was skeptical to say the least. I kept an open mind though and let them diagnose what was wrong with my semi. They found the problem and to my surprise had things torn down and went to work. After paying and the truck being back together I stepped outside and there was still an issue with my semi. The owner Robert was there and through all the repairs and diagnostics done from Volvo dealerships there was still a dead injector. I literally couldn’t believe what Robert, Pat, Noe and Adan did next. Robert said he’d have it torn down and he’d do it right then since I had a load to pick up in Charlotte in the morning. They stayed until 2am in the morning to get me going! Don’t read into the bad reviews, these guys saved me and my business without even taking payment for the additional costs for the part and labor. (Even the part run at 8:30 PM to Volvo) I highly recommend East Coast Diesel and they will be the only ones touching any of the trucks I get as long as my company is running! (Granted my truck doesn’t break down or need a tow to a different shop)

I had my 7.3 powerstroke injectors and turbocharger replaced by East Coast Diesel. I have no complaints regarding the injector replacement. I was and still am generally satisfied with the initial repair except it left their shop with an exhaust leak because the v-clamp from the exhaust side of the turbo was not fully tightened. Because the exhaust leak resulted in vapor coming out the dash vents, I had another shop replace the heater core. When this didn't fix the issue, they recommended I take it back to East Coast Diesel to check the v-clamp on the turbo. I took it back to East Coast Diesel and asked them to check and tighten the v-clamp under warranty. East Coast Diesel charged me $127.50 labor plus $17 in "shop supplies" to "diagnose" that the v-clamp wasn't tight. They estimated $230 in parts and labor to repair. And the icing on the cake. They noticed that a headlight and a turn signal bulb were out. Their estimate to repair - $20 parts, $255 labor, $71 in shop supplies. Yes, you read that correctly - $341 to replace two bulbs. Of course I declined all service. I was still stuck paying for $127 labor for "diagnosis" and $17 in "shop supplies". Fortunately, in the process of "diagnosing" the issue they tightened the v-clamp properly and no more exhaust leak. Still I left with a very bad taste because of their effort to turn their minor error into a ridiculously inflated upsell. I asked to speak with the manager / owner prior to writing this review but my request was ignored. I own two diesel trucks and neither of them will go back to East Coast Diesel. I gave East Coast Diesel two stars because: 1) They sent me out the door with exhaust leaking into the passenger compartment of my truck which is very dangerous 2) They used the loose v-clamp as an opportunity to try to sell me inflated repairs Had East Coast Diesel taken responsibility and simply tightened the v-clamp and sent me on my way when I returned their star rating would have been substantially higher.

This is a great bunch of professionals. My chevrolet 2500 Silverado broke down on a business trip. On a Sunday, early morning, they answered their emergency line immediately. They opened their shop for me immediately so I could stage my vehicle there. Blake jumped right in to help me with securing some heavy professional equipment (Not his job but he saw i needed help). They had my issues diagnosed and repaired early the next morning. The mechanic, Richard came out to explain exactly what my issues were and how the problem had been fixed. He also took time to explain how my fuel system issue could be avoided in the future. Under the circumstances this could not have been a better experience. Will definately look for this company if I have future diesel issues. Great folks here., truly interested in getting your issues resolved.

2 years ago I broke down on the side of the road with no power and my dash cluster going on and off like a Christmas tree. East Coast Diesel sent out the best service technician I have ever had in my time on the road. Chase Roberts came and immediately assessed the situation with the help of his top of the line diagnostic computer. Chase never hesitated to keep us informed about what was wrong and the necessary steps needed to correct the issue. His professionalism and expert knowledge had me rolling again in no time. That experience has made me an East Coast Diesel LLC customer for life! I would recommend this company and Chase Roberts for any of you’re roadside needs on any heavy duty vehicle.

I was referred here by a mechanic, who I trust, and kudos to these guys. They immediately got me in, gave me an estimate, and finished pretty fast...with a bill that was even lower than the estimate (music to the ears. lol). I haven't put any mileage on the truck yet, but the drive home was a normal one. I will follow-up in the next few weeks after I put some miles on her, and I would definitely recommend these guys. They are at the top of my list for major repairs. Thanks Fellas, I appreciate the business.

I can not recommend this outstanding company enough!! Absolutely excellent work! I developed a significant exhaust leak in my box truck about 9 hours away from home with very few tools, and no other local shop would work on the truck (and no one else had parts in stock). I called East Coast Diesel LLC and they were super accommodating by allowing me to drop off the vehicle after normal business hours and they had parts ordered, delivered, and installed before lunch the next day! They also waited well outside of normal business hours for me to come pick up the vehicle. Extremely honest pricing and outstanding mechanics. Do not waste your time with other auto shops. These guys are the real deal! They got me back on the road in only a few hours. I could not ask for any better service. They far exceeded expectations!

We were stranded on 64 west with the air brakes locked on the RV. Called Coach Net and they sent the company to our location. Chase, mechanic, called to understand exactly what was Wrong with the RV. Bless his heart , he was able to get us in the road with a temporary fix til we can get home. He told us what he was doing step by step. Told us our options. Gave on pointers on dealing with the temp fix. Already have their number in my phone and Chase’s name too. Thank you for the quick service and not gouging us to death. Will remember you and will refer friends and family. Thanks again and God Bless you and your business.

We broke down and had no air brakes. East Coast Diesel LLC sent out an awesome service tech. Chase was very professional and knowledgeable. He kept us in the loop on everything he was doing. I would recommend this company and Chase for roadside repair on any large trucks or RV's.

Looking for the most helpful and kind towing company to work with? Call this company right now and look for Martin. He tried super hard to work problems out for us and helped us to safely move our car! Our car was parked in a very narrow space but he tried every single little things to get our car out of the tiny space safely. He could've easily said no to our request but he stayed more than 45 minutes to resolve our problem! Thank you, Martin, for being super awesome and helpful! We will definitely call this company again if we ever need any help!!!!!

Very disappointed with the "service" I received from this place, especially after the owner told me of the professionalism he provided. He really sold me but, it was all hogwash. Perhaps he provided good service but certainly not his "technicians". The first time I went there to get my radiator replaced, when it was "done" I was told that I was finished and when I went to leave, the water reservoir was not attached. After learning this I asked if everything else was done. I was assured that it was and, I learned the hard way that it wasn't. The transmission cooler lines were not tight and leaked, over time, all of the fluid out and caused transmission failure, which cost me $6500. The next (and last) time I foolishly sent my truck to them was last week to have the DPF system serviced. I was told that the regular shop rate was $130/hr and that if I wanted to skip the line, they offered that for $170/hr. (who does that, anyway?) I didn't like it because it was not fair to anyone else who was waiting already, but to be honest, I had a pissed driver that needed to be out of there, so I seriously considered it. I was told that I would pay the $130 for the diagnosis, and that it would be about 45min. - 1hr. I was not called for an authorization for further digging and, four hours later, I was called and given a bill for $606. I was told that they are not sure of the problem and would need further diagnosis. When I told them that they did not tell me that they would take 4 hrs and charge me over $600 for an hours' work, and that I was told that it would only be $130 for 1hr to hook up their computer, they said that it would take more time to figure out. I'm not an unreasonable person. Had they made mention of that from the beginning, I would have been able to make a decision. I was not allowed that option. I can go on, and on but, I will only say that I will not be returning to East Coast Diesel for anything. Too bad, because there is so much money to be made from honest work, and repeat business. I have 10 trucks that will never again see the yard of East Coast Diesel. Eventually, all of the people who haven't heard of these guys will learn. Stay away.

I got a tow into their shop. I called 2 days later to check on the progress. I was told that the tow truck had broken down and my truck was still on it and could not be dropped until the tow truck was repaired. 4 days later they start to look at it. I was told they believe the problem was with a ICP sensor. I was told they would call me back- never happened! I had to call every time to get updates on the status. 2 more days go by and I call and ask. We need to test drive it again was the response I received. I asked why again? because the part we put it in did not fix it. The scanner said the part they put in is now reading correctly but did not fix the main issue. The customer service rep starts saying that 3 possible injectors were having issues and that they want to clean all injectors. Funny thing is when I was in the shop the last time the same guy used the exact same story to a guy on the phone. I asked how much an injection cleaning was _please hold? what he doesn't know that? it will be $350 he says. I said I will be up to get my truck and take it to another shops. I get there and my clean truck at drop off was now all muddy? I asked why and they said when it broke down on them they had to pull off into the mud. I asked well why didn't you clean it?? The entire shop is a mess there- trucks being worked on outside with parts all over the place. Very unprofessional staff dealing with clients. I received the bill and was shocked to find out they wanted $850 for a muddy truck that still does not work!! the tow was another $250 I took it to another shop right down the road- I got a call 2 hours after I dropped it off and it was fixed. It was a clogged fuel strainer- that all I had the same shop add a engine block warmer as well.

Couldn’t asked for better service. These guys are not your average group of mechanics or owners. These guys are very polite and professional and their rates are very responsible especially with the work I had done to our 09 cascadia. Couldn’t be more pleased with the results definitely worth the 3 hr drive down. I highly recommend Robert and his crew at East Coast you’ll be glad you went to them!

I brought my truck here after Advanced Maintenance tried to give me a big bill and would not work on my truck quickly. they looked at it and said they could not do anything, I went to pick up truck with a tow truck and they tried to charge my $95 just for picking it up. I had East coast diesel come and look at it and they said they could fix it. We towed it to there shop. And found 5 injectors and Jake brake assembly bad. Parts where not available so East Coast got me used parts, Made sure I got to the hotel and helped me on the bill to meet my price needs. They where easy to work with, And they have all the computer equipment and experience to do any job. I greatly appreciate there help and i am back on the road today!!!! Great Work!!!

Great people to work with Robert went out of he way to help me get towed in and made room for me on his schedule to get me up and running down the highway...... Thanks again for your hospitality Robert
