The car I replaced..a 1986 Volvo 240DL I have been driving for 25 years so this was my first experience in a very long time with a car dealership. I happened to chance upon a car online at Kelly’s that I liked...I live in Florida so I expected things would be more difficult purchasing a car out of state. As it happened...nothing could have been further from the truth. From the beginning to the end of my transaction with Kelly and Dakotah they proved that not all car salespeople are dishonest with compromised reputations.
They couldn’t possibly have been more professional going above and beyond assisting me with everything that I asked for in an incredibly courteous way. I had a lot of questions...concerns and they went above and beyond to assuage any concerns that I might have had. My car was delivered exactly as Kelly had shown me in videos...beautiful.

Kelly’s Automotive of Manteo, NC is the GREATEST! Kelly and Jim came to our aid when our car had a disabling issue. They were FANTASTIC!!! It was a holiday weekend & they were getting ready to close at the end of the day. We were visiting from WAY out of town and they drove to our location and FIXED the problem; so INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, DEPENDABLE & TRUSTWORTHY!...If they hadn’t come to our aid (at the end of their shift), we would have been stuck there without a working vehicle; they literally rescued us!...I’m a retired Police Sergeant & my wife, a retired RN. I’ve met many different people over the years and I can say that these fine people at Kelly’s Automotive are simply THE BEST! Because of their actions, they quickly turned our potentially disastrous situation into a truly wonderful experience. We will never forget the tremendous kindness that Kelly and Jim extended to us. They were VERY, very helpful explaining a bad check engine light to me that came on while I was there after a long road trip from Chicago. They didn’t try to get any money out of me or convince me to pay for something I didn’t need. They spent a lot of their time giving me advice for the trip home and walking me through my options without ever suspecting they would benefit from it. I really appreciate them and if I lived there I would go to them all the time.
I was very well taken care of. This place was fantastic. They came through for us when we had brake trouble. Great customer service, great mechanic. Honest, Affordable and Reliable.
If you want to buy a vehicle I recommend these guys. They were honest and friendly. Took the Dakota I bought to my mechanic before buying and said the same thing they did. Next time I am in manteo I am dropping off a twelve pack!
